Lightning surged like an ocean across the battlefield.
Kaito stood at the center of it all, unmoving, serene—his entire being imrsed within a sea of thunder.
Suddenly, from the swirling tide of black and white bolts, a thunder dragon burst forth. Coiled in alternating arcs of light and shadow, its serpentine body writhed with blinding power. The raw energy radiating from Kaito made even veterans like Hiruzen Sarutobi, Jiraiya, and Koharu Utatane break into cold sweat.
The dragon opened its maw, spewing a condensed beam of lightning—bright as a pearl and sharp as a blade.
Whoosh!
The laser-like blast tore through a fire dragon summoned in desperation, shredding it like parchnt. But it didn't stop there. The beam continued on, blazing a trail toward Jiraiya and Koharu behind.
"What?!" the two exclaid simultaneously, narrowly leaping away from the incoming destruction.
Elsewhere, Sarutobi's Sky-Supporting Pillar technique—an imnse strike with his summoned staff—had already reached Kaito's position. But Kaito had vanished into the sea of thunder, and each arc of lightning crackled with lethal voltage, making Hiruzen's scalp prickle.
With no other choice, the forr Hokage redirected his attack toward the thunder dragon instead, swinging the golden cudgel with fierce montum.
Yet the mont the staff touched the beast, a current of overwhelming electricity surged down the weapon.
Bang! A thick fog erupted as the golden staff dissolved mid-air, retreating into the summoning space.
"What the…?" Hiruzen's eyes widened. "The Ape King… went back?"
Before he could process it, a bright flash exploded above him—lightning again.
He glanced up in alarm. Was it another strike? He dodged instinctively, stepping back to regroup with Jiraiya and the others.
Just then, a marked kunai sliced through the air.
Whoosh!
The yellow flash—Minato Namikaze—appeared above the thunder dragon, Rasengan in hand. He thrust it down toward the beast's head with perfect precision.
His target had originally been Kaito. But once Kaito entered his thunder domain, the surrounding lightning acted as a natural defense. Minato feared even the Flying Thunder God Technique would disintegrate under its force before landing a hit.
Tch. He grimaced inwardly. So much for relying on space-ti ninjutsu.
Redirecting, he targeted the thunder dragon instead.
Minato's Rasengan t the dragon's forehead.
Bang!
A crushing force erupted from the beast. The Rasengan shattered on contact, as if it were made of glass. The thunder dragon surged forward unhindered, its jaws inches from Minato.
Suddenly—
Snap!
A long white strand of hair snapped out like a whip, yanking Minato out of harm's way.
"Jiraiya-sensei," Minato said, slightly dazed but grateful.
"Don't bla yourself," Jiraiya muttered, eyes dark with resolve. "With a domain like that, Kaito is practically untouchable. Unless we deal with the thunder sea itself, none of our attacks matter."
But that was the real problem.
The thunder sea now surrounded all of Konoha. There was no escape. Retreat was impossible.
Fight or die.
"Tch… only one option left," Jiraiya whispered. "Minato! Use your summoning jutsu. Now."
"Understood, Jiraiya-sensei!"
Both n bit their fingers and clapped their hands into seals.
"Summoning Technique!" they shouted in unison.
Boom!
Two enormous figures erged in clouds of smoke. One was a gruff toad with a katana slung across his back, pipe in his mouth. The other was bulkier, with reddish-purple skin, wielding a massive Y-shaped staff and a round shield.
Gamabunta and Gamaken, the legendary toads of Mount Myōboku.
"Jiraiya! What the hell do you need for this ti?" Gamabunta grunted, puffing out a ring of smoke, clearly annoyed.
"If I didn't need you, Bunta, I wouldn't have called," Jiraiya muttered.
Gamabunta narrowed his eyes at the flickering thunderstorm around them. "Where the hell is this?!"
He tensed visibly as he absorbed the scene. The black and white lightning made his warty skin crawl.
"You really pissed off a monster this ti!" he growled.
Jiraiya gave a helpless shrug. "This is Konoha now. That thing is the enemy."
Gamabunta scanned the area. "What the hell happened here? Is this all that's left? Who the hell are those guys?!"
"Long story. Just buy us ti. Please."
"Tch. Fine. But don't expect a miracle."
"Bunta! Prepare the oil!"
"Yeah, yeah," he muttered, leaping high into the air.
Gamabunta puffed out his cheeks, preparing his trademark oil attack while Jiraiya rapidly ford hand seals.
"Fire Style: Toad Oil Fla Bullet!"
A massive torrent of flaming oil erupted, the fusion of fire and toad oil multiplying its force. It scorched the battlefield, leaving charred terrain in its wake as it hurtled toward Kaito's thunder domain.
anwhile, Hiruzen ford four shadow clones. All five of them imdiately moved into synchronized motion, weaving signs.
"Five-Style Unified Ninjutsu: Great Elental Bullet Technique!"
Boom!
Five elental streams—fire, wind, water, earth, and lightning—rged into a massive energy cannon aid directly at Kaito's location.
It was Hiruzen's most powerful offensive jutsu.
"Fire Style: Dragon Fla Bullet!"
Mitokado unleashed a barrage of massive fireballs that shot forward like artillery.
"Gamaken-sama!" Minato called.
The hulking toad nodded. "Clumsy I may be, but I will assist!"
With a leap, he surged toward the battlefield alongside Minato. The second wave of attack had begun.
