The next day, inside the Hokage's Office.

"Garou, Kakashi filled in on the mission details."

"You did very well. It seems my decision to let your team take on a C-rank mission directly was the right one." Hiruzen smiled with satisfaction.

There had been resistance when he bypassed the usual D-rank route for a genin team, but he'd insisted.

Now, their performance had proven him right.

Their division of labor had been organized, their teamwork solid. This team was already operating at the level of a fully-ford unit.

"I just did what I thought needed to be done," Garou said modestly. He didn't think the mission had been that impressive.

After all, their opponents had just been ordinary samurai.

It was basically a one-sided battle, hardly a true test of coordination.

"Haha! For rookies, your first combat mission couldn't have gone better," the Third chuckled. "So, what brings you here today? Book exchange? Or sothing else?"

Garou handed over the three scrolls he'd borrowed, along with eight sealing tags and a short report.

"Lord Hokage, this is a sealing technique I developed during our journey. Once activated, it can autonomously maintain a binding barrier for a short period. I believe it could be practically useful."

"Let take a look." The Third took the docunts.

'Another technique?'

Even if it was just a modification, that was already impressive, especially considering Garou had only been studying sealing techniques for about half a month.

Actually, with his previous detour into barrier techniques, his real ti with sealing arts was barely ten days.

The Third fell silent for several seconds, astonished.

He examined the papers more carefully, then his expression grew serious.

This wasn't just a tweak.

The kid had deconstructed the original and created a hybrid barrier jutsu. What Garou had done was fuse and reengineer the Binding Formation into sothing else entirely.

The Third's eyes sharpened, instantly grasping the core concept.

He stared at Garou for a long mont before finally exhaling. "Every ti I think you've reached your peak, you find a way to surprise all over again."

"Is that supposed to be a complint?"

"Absolutely," Hiruzen chuckled. If only every ninja in Konoha had Garou's creativity, they would've unified the world long ago.

A village filled with minds like his was a dream.

But prodigies like Garou only ca once in a generation.

The golden age when every village had multiple geniuses—that was the era of Hashirama, Tobirama, Madara, and Izuna.

Rare, to say the least.

Just like Garou said, the upgraded Binding Formation had real value, even usable solo, but the complexity had increased significantly. The Third estimated its application difficulty as B-rank, and the diagram drawing close to A .

Another tough one.

As always.

'Wait, why is there another sheet?'

He turned the page and found:

[Proposal for Chakra Thread Enhancent]

'Huh?'

At first, he was surprised, then relieved.

At least this one wasn't a whole new jutsu. It was just an improvent suggestion—less of a hit to the ego.

The Third scanned it, then nodded. "I see. You're proposing that we experint with nature transformation in Chakra Threads to develop new techniques?"

"I can't use nature transformation, so I can't test it," Garou explained. "But I see potential for growth."

"More people should get involved. Collective innovation will help the whole village evolve."

The Third was clearly impressed. "That's a aningful idea. You're right. Innovation isn't the job of just one or two people. Everyone should be part of it."

"Exactly. The problem is, a lot of people develop sothing new and then guard it like a treasure. No one else learns it. That's a huge waste."

Garou continued without pause.

The Third nodded along eagerly, signaling for him to elaborate.

"My idea is for the village to provide better incentives for innovators, encourage them to share their knowledge. Of course, we'll need safeguards against spies from other villages..."

Garou spoke with clarity and purpose. Not that he cared about the rewards themselves. What he really wanted was a system that encouraged sharing—not hoarding knowledge until it beca irrelevant.

"And what would that reward system look like, in your mind?"

The Third tapped his desk.

He had a feeling Garou was heading sowhere with this.

"My proposal is simple. Take inspiration from the Scroll of Seals. We store important innovations in a secure repository."

"Then, innovators or contributors get to choose a technique from that pool to learn."

Garou explained.

The Third let out a soft chuckle.

He'd seen this coming. Garou had never hidden his hunger for knowledge. If anything, he advertised it.

After so thought, the Third nodded. "Your proposal makes a lot of sense. I'll start setting things in motion."

Then ca the tricky part. What kind of reward should he give Garou this ti?

He'd already granted full access to the archives.

He already handed over swordsmanship notes.

'What is left?'

'Ah, weapons!'

"You still don't have a proper weapon, do you?" the Third asked. "I have so chakra-infused tal set aside. Think about what kind of weapon you want, then let know."

"Thank you so much!" Garou's eyes lit up.

His gaze sharpened, and he asked slyly, "How much are we talking about here, exactly?"

"Not much," the Third coughed. "Barely enough to make a sword like the one you're using now."

"Aw co on, Lord Hokage, don't be stingy! Look at all the good ideas I've given you! Surely that's worth a little bonus? I've done a lot for the village, haven't I?"

Garou edged closer, bargaining like a rchant.

The Third sighed. "What do you want to make? I do have a little more... but not much."

"A sword, sa size as this one. And if possible, a wire, made from the sa chakra tal. Sothing sturdy."

"A wire?"

"Yeah, so it won't need much material." Garou clarified.

The Third nodded reluctantly. "Fine, I'll authorize the extra tal for the wire. But that's it."

"Heh. Thank you, Lord Hokage! I'll figure out the design and bring it to you soon." Garou had no idea how to forge a weapon himself.

Sure, he could study it, but there wasn't much point. His team already had an expert in that field. He'd just ask her to handle it.

'Though... what kind of sword would suit ?'

Flipping his notebook between his fingers, he walked out of the office, only to spot a bandaged old man with a cane approaching slowly.

Garou narrowed his eyes slightly.

Danzo Shimura.

The Plot Convenience Villain.

Garou stepped aside with a slight bow, letting him pass first.

Danzo stopped beside him and said, "Your talents are wasted here. Ever considered performing on a bigger stage?"
