Though Harumiko had cald down, Rai remained downcast.
"I have to take this opportunity; I really want to join the ANBU," Harumiko stated, addressing Hiroshi.
Hiroshi nodded and turned to the glum-looking Rai.
"Rai, what are you thinking? You don’t seem very happy," Hiroshi remarked.
Rai nodded. "Hiroshi, my sister and I know we only won because of you. We understand our own limitations. We’re not strong enough for the ANBU, so..."
Hiroshi frowned, feeling a pang of discomfort.
"So, my sister and I won’t join the ANBU," Rai stated, his voice heavy with resignation.
Harumiko also looked troubled; she understood that strength dictated everything. Joining the ANBU without sufficient strength would lead to a difficult path.
"I understand, Rai. You and your sister should focus on your studies at the academy. You’re very intelligent, and I believe you’ll grow significantly stronger within a year," Hiroshi said, clapping Rai on the shoulder.
"A year from now, if I’m still alive, I’ll recomnd you for the ANBU!" Hiroshi said jokingly, using his own survival as a condition.
Harumiko, mirroring Hiroshi’s lighthearted tone, also patted Rai’s shoulder. "That’s right. If I’m still alive, I’ll recomnd your sister. You can count on that!"
Rai understood that joining the ANBU now would be incredibly challenging. He was acutely aware of his current skill level and knew that joining now would be detrintal.
"Thank you both. eting you two is incredible good fortune for . I know that if my sister and I joined the ANBU now, we’d be a liability on missions and easily killed. So, we won’t join," Rai said, looking up at them with a grateful smile.
Hiroshi and Harumiko exchanged a glance, then nodded with smiles. "I knew Rai was smart. I have complete confidence that he’ll be incredibly strong in a year!"
Harumiko nodded in agreent, and all four of them shared a laugh.
