Harumiko’s voice echoed loudly from outside the classroom.

Harumiko leaned against the doorfra and apologized to the teacher who was still taking attendance.

The teacher nodded with a smile, and Harumiko went to speak with her briefly.

After listening to Harumiko, the teacher nodded and gestured for her to return to her seat.

"Alright, let’s continue the roll call," the teacher announced.

"Harumiko, what happened? Why are you so late? I thought you were absent!" Hiroshi said with a smile to Harumiko, who was returning to her seat.

Harumiko smiled, nodded, and explained, "I was actually absent. I had a fever last night, so my mom called in sick for

this morning, which is why I’m so late!"

"Oh, I see. Is your fever gone? Are you feeling okay?" Hiroshi asked Harumiko with concern.

Harumiko shook her head with a smile. "I’m fine now. My fever broke. Don’t worry!"

Hiroshi nodded. "You scared ! I almost answered for you. Luckily, you arrived just as I was about to speak! Otherwise..."

"Hiroshi!"

Before Hiroshi could finish, the teacher called on him. He said nervously, "Yes, teacher, I’m here."

"Roll call is over. Don’t talk during class," the teacher said with a smile.

Hiroshi felt embarrassed; it was his fault for not paying attention.

"Let

talk to you. We’ll chat after class," Harumiko whispered in Hiroshi’s ear.

Hiroshi’s face flushed, and he nodded, focusing on the lesson and refraining from speaking again.

"This is so boring. I really want class to end! Only ten more minutes!" Hiroshi whispered, looking at the classroom clock.

Hiroshi was restless, eager for class to end so he could go out and play. However, he noticed sothing beautiful—Harumiko’s face.

"She’s so beautiful. I’m so lucky to have t her," Hiroshi thought, smiling as he gazed at Harumiko’s profile.
