"Are you okay?" Adrik asked Narika for the umpteenth ti this morning, he hasn’t been able to stay away from her nor leave her to do anything since after yesterday night that Barbara resurrected her up.
He knew what Barbara was, she’s a healer. Narika wasn’t dead in the first place, she was just in a deep sleep and Narika hasn’t been told anything yet, about what sort of power she had within her.
He wanted to take things slowly, and cautiously with her. Although he didn’t know when trouble would co knocking at the doorsteps, trouble which was associated with his father. He knew this ti around that he wouldn’t be a weakling anymore and give her up to anyone, just because he’s weak.
He would protect her this ti with his life, and she knew that too. But she hasn’t said anything not much to him after he had introduced them as a couple to Barbara and Laila.
Was she angry at him?
He didn’t know, and he didn’t know how exactly to ask her what exactly was running through her mind. But he knew that she has been acting distant towards him since after she woke up this morning and he’s worried about that, like really worried.
"Are you mad at or sothing, because baby you have been giving the silent treatnt for hours now?" Adrik had to ask her, there was no need of trying to act like he’s okay because he’s not.
Narina had taken over his mind and body completely, that seeing her like this made him restless and he couldn’t help but try to find out what exactly was bothering her.
She said nothing but stood still by the window side while watching the busy life of the villagers, until he heard her sniff and he had to co over to where she sat to see her eyes full of tears.
"Babygirl, what..." He tried to speak, when he settled down beside her on the bed but she was fast enough to tell him what’s in her mind.
"Sothing’s wrong with , I am not okay and you are not telling the truth about what you are and what i am too." She said, looking him straight in the eyes, while he snuck in a breath before debating on how exactly to start up the conversation, about how she’s sohow involved in the prophecy connected with hell.
"You are not human, Adrik. The last i saw you before your girlfriend killed , you looked like the man in my dreams, what are you, Adrik? What are you keeping away from ? What am I?!" She raised her voice this ti, which attracted the attention of others who had to raise their heads up to peek at the window from where the both couples were.
"It’s okay, sweet girl. Breathe for , slow..ly." Adrik held her hand, while helping her calm down. She was having a panic attack and he can’t have that right now.
It hurt him hearing her call Sakura his girlfriend, he didn’t know exactly what the biych had told her but he regretted not killing her instead of Polina.
"You are doing well, Sweetgirl. It’s okay, I’m here now, nobody would hurt you." He assured her, pecking her hair as she climbed in his lap to straddle him.
Her breathing has gotten back to normal, but she hasn’t stopped crying." That’s a lie. Nobody was there when they hurt . Micheal and his brothers...they were angels. They wanted to kill , Adrik. Until i was saved by so man." She paused, cleaning her tears when mories of her escape from the crystal palace ca rushing through her mind.
She looked into Adrik’s eyes, he’s keeping sothing away from her and she’s done with being kept in the dark about what the both of them are, for everyone to kidnap her and try to kill her.
So without wasting any more ti, she told him." He called you his son. Adrik, what does that an? Your father is Jason Ivanov, why would Lucifer claim you as his son?!" She demanded, beating his chest to demand answers from him since he’s been quiet.
"Stop it, Narika." He held both of her hands into his right ones, and tried to speak before a knock on their door interrupted them.
"Mr. Austin, it’s Laila, my mother has invited you and your wife for breakfast downstairs." Laila said from the door.
Narika raised her brow at him in a question stance at his na.
"Sure, we will be there soon." Adrik said, before they heard a giggle from Laila before her retreating footsteps in the background.
"Jason is not my father, Narika. I’m not a ghost, my real father had fucked up both your family and my family just to fake my death, and lock up in the underworld."He started his explainations.
"So, you are not a ghost?" That was the first question that left Narika’s lips, as her eyes looked him up and down, confirming her suspicions about him.
There’s no way she could feel the touch of a ghost, she was practically sitting on his lap, so definitely he’s not a ghost.
"I’m sorry for the pain you went through and it’s all because of . I’m a demon, Narika and you are a witch. You co from a family of witches and your great grandmother has sort of involved you in a prophecy that connects you to ."
"What do you an?" Narika asked with raised brows, she doesn’t understand his words.
"A prophecy connects you to , sweetheart. You are my mate and that’s why we can’t stay away from each other."
"Woah, wait a minute." Narika stood up from his lap," You were a ghost that was set on killing because of my aunt, and now am suddenly your mate?"
"Believe , Narika. I didn’t have any idea about that, until recently because my dad wants everything possible to make that prophecy co to light."Adrik said, holding her right hand just to have her close to him, since he didn’t know if she would leave him.
"So, this is all because of your dad, and i am stuck on a prophecy because my late great grandmother wants to hurt ?" She asked him.
"We don’t have to act according to what the prophecy demands from us, sweetgirl. I love you, Narika and this has nothing to do with my father, or Baram, your grandma." He stood up, cupping her face for het to look into her eyes to see how serious he was.
But what he didn’t expect from her was her bursting into laughter after hearing him confess his love towards her.
He definitely has gone crazy.
