Chapter 3: Chapter Three: The Unwelcod Guest.

The dinner that followed suit after the party was really boring for the young miss. She was seated in between her supposed fiance, and her stepbrother.

His threats earlier about hurting Blake were still embedded vividly in her mind, and she couldn’t help but try to keep quiet about it.

Atleast she was thankful amidst Adrian’s assault on her on a daily basis, she was happy that he knows nothing about her secret relationship with Adrik.

"You don’t seem to like the food i assu?" Blake asked, cutting deep into her thoughts as her head raised up to the cute, young gentleman who was looking at her.

Polina could admit that he was a fine young man, but she wasn’t in any rush to claim anything about him yet.

Just like their parents, who were basically uniting the family using their marriage as a camouflage, everything was strictly about business.

But his gentle attitude, and smile bothered her. For soone who knew nothing about her, he seems to love this arrangent.

She couldn’t say a word back to him, so

she was just there staring at him. But the sudden cough of her dad, brought her back to reality as she realized that everyone was staring at her.

"Dear, It seems you don’t have much of an appetite? "Blake’s mother interrupted this ti around, an unpleasant look on her face while watching her future daughter inlaw.

Polina knew what this ant, she didn’t like her and neither did she like the woman either. But it was different with the husband, who spoke up imdiately when he noticed what his wife was trying to do.

"The two still need ti to get to know each other, Madrid, and i don’t think a re dinner would help with us here too." Antonio said, smiling at Polina and then at his son, who grinned at his father’s words.

Polina could swear she heard Adrain snort in a breath, and the sudden noise he made while dropping his cutlery down dragged everyone’s attention to him.

"So,what do you think of that Alex?" Antonio White, Blake’s father shifted the conversation over to her dad, who she was avoiding his gaze for a while now.

She could tell that he’s mad that she’s creating unnecessary attention to herself, while all she was supposed to do, was to make sure that her new family sees the reason to love her.

He warned her about misbehaving, not that he was going to lay his hands on her. No, he doesn’t get that much violent with her considering that she’s the only daughter he had right now.

But that doesn’t an that he doesn’t have other diverse ans to punish her if she misbehaves, putting Adrain in charge of her movent for a week now is too much to handle.

So, she tried all she could to look good and presentable for her new family.

"I think we shouldn’t be in a hurry to get both of them married, the children need to get acquainted with each other right?" He added a suggestion, that made Polina’s eyes light up at his words.

The man was considerate, unlike her family but it was so sad, that amidst trying to spend ti with Blake, she wouldn’t be able to unlove the man in her heart for soone else.

This ti around, she looked up at her dad with pleading eyes to give her a break, at least he had to consider the man’s suggestion as he was the one who had the say in all of this.

"No" He says, deadpanned with a serious look on his face, while looking away from Polina whose heart shattered into pieces hearing him say that.

"There’s no necessity for that, they can get acquainted with each other with the ti they have left" he added, before taking the glass of wine up and turned to Mr. White, "Allow

to pour you a drink"

"That would be so nice of you
