"From this book I read, the vampire-witch sibling that were birthed by the first pureblooded vampire and the witch, are they us? I an, are they the sa and Marco?" The skepticism in Perdita’s voice could be detected that she was scared of what the answer was going to be.
As if to add to her anxiety, Emily kept mute for a few seconds, thinking of the question and how to answer it. She shifted in her chair, her face marred with a contemplative look as she began to speak, "Not exactly, My Lady,"
"Okay..." Perdita drawled waiting for Emily to continue speaking, while at the sa ti, Sthena pulled the tray holding the plates of food towards him.
Taking a bite of the food, he humd in approval of the taste of the food, he glanced at Perdita who had turned to stare at him in astonishnt. That was her food he was eating.
"You want so?" Ca the words of Sthena instead and Perdita couldn’t help but question herself. Was he asking her if she wanted her food?
"That is mine," Perdita pointed out, the look of astonishnt still on her face.
Sthena titled his head to the side with an ’is that so’ look. He said while scooping yet another spoon, "And now it is mine. Don’t worry, I’ll be kind to share with you. I am a generous King." And he flashed a mischievous smile against Perdita’s disapproving look.
Perdita shook her head and muttered, "You can eat everything, you need it anyway."
The smile on Sthena’s lips stretched into a wide smile. He dramatically waved his hand and uttered in a whisper that wasn’t so quiet, "I know you have always had my interest in your heart. But don’t worry, I’ll do my best not to disappoint you, darling."
A small glare was directed at Sthena in response to his words, and Perdita wanting the banter to stop ignored Sthena with a shake of her head and turned her gaze back to Emily who had witnessed the scene with a straight face.
It was monts like this that had Perdita question if Emily pretended not to hear anything or perhaps, she was just not into other people’s affairs.
"Please continue," Perdita urged, as she too took to a more relaxing sitting position.
Emily in turn nodded in acknowledgent and began to speak again, "As I was saying, My Lady. The siblings then are not exactly you and your brother now.
What I an is, according to the prophecy book, the ntion of the siblings coming back didn’t an they would take the sa form as they had then. Their coming back ans that the powers they had then would one day return to the world again. More like a part of their soul bearing the powers of the first vampire and the witch combined would be born in a vessel which is you and your brother.
The two of you being the vessel also called the body harboring these powers would be left with the job of doing what the vampire-witch sibling were not able to fulfill."
"What they were not able to fulfill? From this book, I read that the union of the first vampire and the witch were forbidden and they had done that with the agenda to control all other realms." Perdita quizzed, her hand propping her chin in a thinking manner.
"Because the union of their parents was forbidden didn’t an they didn’t have a purpose to be born," Emily replied, her voice gentle and unwavering as she explained everything the best way she could. She further said,
"Everyone born in this world has their purpose to be born, and this purpose is their destiny to fulfill. In the case of the vampire-witch siblings, even while they were still in their mother’s womb, their destiny to be fulfilled had already been written. However, because of the war, their lives were ended abruptly, leaving them no chance to fulfill what they were asked to do."
"And now and my brother have this power like a part of their souls in us and we are to fulfill their destiny too?" Perdita voiced her thoughts, her body slightly squirming in her chair at the thought.
"Yes," Emily affird with a nod.
"What about our destiny to fulfill?"
"That is the destiny of the vampire-witch. Their task is now you and your brother’s task to accomplish." Emily clarified, her eyes staring back at Perdita. Oftentis during the conversation, Perdita found herself lost in Emily’s green orbs. They were srizing. To think she had hidden such beautiful eyes was a pity.
Wait a mont, Perdita shook her head as she realized what she was thinking. The eyes she was staring at were the sa as hers. Was that how people stared at her too? Huh, this would definitely make her to be more cautious of how people looked at her from now on.
Perdita cleared her throat, giving herself a mont to think of what Emily told her. After a minute in silence, Perdita voiced yet another question, "This vampire-witch sibling were twins right?"
"Yes, My Lady."
"But my brother and I are not twins," Perdita stated, and to her question, Emily said,
"Yes, the vampire-witch siblings were indeed twins while you two are not, but this doesn’t matter, My Lady. What part of the souls of the siblings needs is just a body to house their powers so they can be able to fulfill their destiny."
"Do they know that part of their souls are reborn?" Ca the next question of Perdita.
"It is possible they know, I’m not sure about that. Perhaps, later in the future when you and your brother might have mastered how to harness your powers, then they might connect with your real soul. For now, what deals within you both are your real souls."
"Okay," Perdita nodded, everything being said clearing her questions one by one. She was grateful to have soone like Emily who said she was her guardian witch near her to explain these things to her, if not, she would have still been confused.
"There’s another thing, Emily," Perdita began as she seed to rember sothing. She said, "This vampire-witch siblings when birthed were half vampire and half witch because of the difference in the nature of their parents. Am I correct?"
"Very much correct, My Lady," Emily answered with a nod while patiently waiting for the next question of Perdita.
"Okay..." Perdita paused, but before asking the initial question that she had in mind, she said, "Does that an only a vampire-witch can house part of their souls and powers?"
"Yes, My Lady," Emily confird with a nod again.
"Do you...?" Perdita skeptically drawled the question that Emily was aware of.
"Yes, My Lady, I know you and your brother are vampires too," Emily revealed yet again to the surprise of Perdita. Even Sthena was equally surprised at this revelation.
Having eaten everything on the plate where the tray and plates lay abandoned on one side of the table, he questioned the maid, "And how did you know this?"
Emily’s gaze faltered, the commanding aura of Sthena prompted her to swallow a lump. Before she began her explanation, she bowed and apologized instead, "My sincere apology, Your Majesty. It was not my intention to eavesdrop on the conversation between Lady Perdita and Master Marco, I deeply apologize for it."
"Perhaps we will have your ears blocked to stop future eavesdropping that would also save your neck from being ripped off. Hm?" Sthena remarked, his voice and deanor casual as if he was talking about the weather.
Perdita on hearing what Sthena said, quickly cast a glance his way, her eyes staring at him in silent question.
anwhile, Emily though petrified of what the king said and will definitely do, kept up to the composure she exhibited and said, "I wouldn’t dare do it again, Your Majesty. I beg for your pardon." She bowed deeply and respectfully at Sthena.
The library room fell silent for so ti, everyone was lost in their thoughts after the tension had pressed on.
The weather outside had turned darker, changing the atmosphere in the library room as the snow which had been threatening to fall since the day began now fell in slightly heavy drops accompanied by the cold that enveloped everyone.
Perdita cleared her throat once more, bringing the attention of both Emily and Sthena back to her when she said, "What I initially wanted to ask you, Emily is this, since you know we are vampires and also a witch, my question is, isn’t it altering the form of the original vampire-witch siblings. I an, we have turned vampires, while they, they are originally birthed vampires."
"You have a good question, My Lady." Emily said, her hands clasped on her lap, she went on, "The coming back of the vampire-witch siblings was sothing that didn’t happen on a whim. It had been written and planned out in the Book of Prophecy. This ans that the siblings were ant to return to a body they originally knew. The body of both a vampire and a witch.
However, because of the rare union between a vampire and a witch, no body or vessel has been found worthy of housing part of the souls of the siblings. Even during the years back, so unions had happened here and there but the body and energy of those people born of a vampire and a witch were not strong enough to house the powers and part souls.
The power and part of the souls of the siblings needed soone from a strong bloodline, which is you and your brother, My Lady. It doesn’t matter if you are a turned vampire or not, for it was written even before your births that you two would be the chosen vessel for the return of the siblings. Everything happening, even the massacre was all part of the plan to turn you two into vampires, to fully get your bodies ready to house their vampire-witch part souls and powers."
Perdita frowned, this new revelation unsettling and slowly sipping anger inside of her. She spoke, her voice tinged with a trace of anger, "The massacre was initiated just to prepare and my brother to be able to house the powers of this vampire-witch siblings?!"
