Marco was carefully settled in his bed after he lost his consciousness. Beads of sweat sared on his forehead as his breathe ca out in pants

After so ti, his breathing beca even so did the sweat on his forehead dried up as he slept in peace this ti.

Serena exhaled and blew a tired sigh from her mouth. She pinched her forehead in frustration as she continued to examine Marco’s health condition.

Leonard who stood beside the bed alongside Fredrick inquired from Serena, "Why did he wake up to such abnormal behavior?"

"That is what happens when you two decided to hasten the ti for his body to heal through its capability and forced the healing to happen at a faster rate than he can control." Serena bit out in clear annoyance and the frustration that has been building up to beco anger.

She turned to look at the n in rage blazing in her green eyes. "I specifically instructed you two to only watch him but you went ahead to give him that blood."

"You two should be grateful that nothing more than this happened, else you two will explain what happened to His Lordship when he awakes. Do you two have an idea what could have happened to our coven had he turned rogue?!" Serena’s voice hardened the more she spoke.

"Not only would have we been wiped out, but his sister, Perdita, would destroy everyone! Do you know the bond they share? That is what you two won’t understand. Without the other, one of them would beco chaotic and fight us in return! Do you want that to happen? For us to turn into an enemy to either of them?"

"I take all the bla, Your Ladyship," Fredrick spoke and knelt on the floor with his head bowed deeply at Serena. He sincerely apologized knowing that Serena’s anger towards them was justified, "My deepest apologies, Your Ladyship. I wouldn’t dare do anything out of your order again."

Serena let out a deep sigh. Without responding to the n due to the anger burning inside her, she briskly walked out and left the room.

Reaching the door, she left them with "Watch after him and do not fail to inform when he wakes up again." instruction, before closing the door behind her.

"Yes, Your Ladyship." The n chorused and bowed respectfully at her.

The activities of the day seed to run wildly in all parts of the kingdom as the people appeared to be in a rush to complete the tasks they were not able to complete because of the continuous downpour of snow the days before.

The heavens have had pity and blessed them with the sun today, so did their energy run so wild as the brightly shining sun brightened everywhere and lted the piles and heaps of snow all around. The gentle breeze didn’t forget its work of blowing on the people to cool off their sweats once in a while.

In the town of Wallington where the church building was located, the activities of the day didn’t escape the people so did the church mbers inside the building trying to get one case or the other solved.

In one of the rooms, precisely the room for head church mbers to conduct their etings were Headchurch Donovan and Churchman Theodore who sat adjacent to each other.

Headchurch Donovan sat at the head table while Church mber Theodore sat beside him, representing the position they held in the church.

The thoughtful look on Headchurch Donovan’s face signified the deep conversation the duo was engaged in. It made his fingers tap rhythmically on the surface of the table.

After a while, Headchurch Donovan questioned Church mber Theodore, "What you are saying is that the case I handed over to you, that there is no lead to it?" His tone of voice was enough to tell Theodore he was annoyed at how slow things were going concerning the cases they should have closed and moved on to more important cases concerning the kingdom.

"Headchurch Donovan, don’t make it seem as though I am slaking when it cos to getting the case solved," Theodore replied, his red eyes staring back at Donovan.

Donovan for sure knew that if there was anyone who got cases solved in the smallest amount of ti, it was Theodore. But this case of finding out who the perpetrator in the church involved in taking information out of the church needed to be solved as soon as possible. He didn’t like the thought of everything tagged as a confidential case being known by a third party.

Theodore adjusted in seating position and continued to speak, "I have so lead in the case though."

"And what could the lead be?" Donovan quizzed with a frown marred on his face.

"As I said, it is a lead—" Theodore began and paused to get a spider on his shoe off him. He continued to speak, "—which I wouldn’t share with anyone just yet. I could be wrong and accuse the wrong person or I could be right too. Just leave everything to , Headchurch Donovan."

"For how long?" Donovan clenched his hands by his side. "Until when, Churchman Theodore will all information be sent out into the open?"

"Calm your horses, Headchurch Donovan. This person had been ticulous when cos to this. It is only recently we found out about this. Do you think this person would suddenly expose himself after being cautious for a long ti now?" Theodore asked the impatient man beside him.

"The person wouldn’t be so stupid to do that," Theodore answered his question. He further said, "Even if you were the one behind it, you wouldn’t expose yourself right?"

Headchurch Donovan narrowed his eyes on Theodore. He asked, "Why use as an example though?"

Churchman Theodore let out a chuckle at Donovan’s question. He responded, "Like you said, it’s an example. I didn’t say you are the one. But—" Theodore paused as his voice beca an octave lower.

He leaned towards Donovan and quizzed, "Are you the one though? Do not worry, I will not expose you, it will be between the two of us."

"Will you get your acts together, Churchman Theodore!" Donovan barked. He knew this peculiar vampire liked to use everything to his amusent. But this? Asking if he was the one they were investigating. He knew the man was out of it again.

"Of course, Headchurch Donovan." Theodore chuckled, his laugh sounded dark in Donovan’s ears. "My acts are together, that is why everybody is on my investigation list. Including you." He playfully remarked but the seriousness could also be detected.

Headchurch Donovan glared at the red-eyed man already tired of him. He said, "Send in the others, let the eting begin."
