524: Chapter 228: Young Man, Do You Want to Beco a Naturalist Knight?_2 524: Chapter 228: Young Man, Do You Want to Beco a Naturalist Knight?_2 Wayne drove to the abandoned church and walked in side by side with Veronica, where in a corner, several NPCs dressed like vagrants were boiling potatoes in an iron pot.

“Black Sorcerer Andrew, you are wanted by The Church for repeated theft and unauthorized disclosure of Faith Magic, and recently, you even stole the Philosopher’s Stone from the public cetery…” Wayne spoke with decisive conviction, imbuing each word with a righteous fervor.

“Andrew, with so many cris to your na, do you have any excuses left?”

“…”

Andrew had no response.

According to the script, several NPCs would turn tail and run, engaging in a spirited and fervent battle before leaving behind clues to the Philosopher’s Stone.

That was no longer necessary; the two candidates had proved their combat strength.

Under Veronica’s speechless gaze, Black Sorcerer Andrew pulled out a stamped docunt, clutching a Naturalism Church pamphlet: “You’re too late; I’m now a Disciple of the Goddess.

The Philosopher’s Stone has been returned, and I will not steal anymore.”

“Oh, one of our own.

Hello, Mr.

Andrew, we et for the first ti – I am Wayne, and this is my companion Veronica.” In a split second, Wayne changed his tune, not caring whether Andrew was lying, fully embodying the saying, “Faith makes one steadfast, religion makes one naïve.”

Wayne sat down to talk with Andrew, who pointed out the direction and recounted the legend of the Philosopher’s Stone.

A torrent of nonsense, the entire script was written by screenwriters burning the midnight oil.

Boiled down and translated, Andrew was a Tomb Robber who expended great effort to obtain the Philosopher’s Stone.

The Philosopher’s Stone belonged to the Windsor Royal Family, rumored to possess the Magic Power to resurrect the dead, and was collected by a royal mber who was interred with it in the adjacent Royal Cetery as a burial artifact.

But according to Andrew’s investigation, things were not so simple.

The royal mber who collected the Philosopher’s Stone had designed seventy-two empty tombs; the real Philosopher’s Stone wasn’t in the Royal Cetery, but rather, beneath this abandoned church.

Wayne: (¬_¬)

The new script, where everyone becos a Wei, has the Royal Family na changed to Cao.

Wayne tactfully refrained from comntary.

The investigation team removed the fight scenes, saving him a lot of trouble – he should even thank them.

Of course, it did not rule out the possibility that they were too afraid of getting beaten up.

“As fellow Disciples of the Nature Goddess, I will definitely help you.”

After arriving at the abandoned church, Andrew ca to a dried-up well behind it and recited the script: “Through the tunnel, at the very end is the Philosopher’s Stone, but be wary of the chanisms and traps, and the dangers lurking in the shadows.”

Since you’ve been down into the tomb before, know how to navigate the traps, why not join us and go down?

That’s what Veronica was thinking, turning to glance at Wayne; when away from ho, she trusted this external brain of hers more.

“Andrew, you should stay here and guard the Philosopher’s Stone.

You are a devout believer who has been transford and redeed by the light of the Goddess.

I believe the Goddess will surely forgive the sins you have committed.” Wayne held forth with justice as always.

Fair, impartial, equitable, and self-satisfying in explanation.

Let him talk nonsense; Veronica was convinced.

Before descending into the well, Andrew kindly provided a flashlight.

Wayne jumped down first and whistled to signify it was safe for Veronica to follow.

Leading and following each other through the tunnel, they encountered Four Elents Magic Traps and various spores that caused illusions and parasitism, all of which they easily resolved.

After ten minutes, they reached the end of the tunnel, blocked by a wall of stone.

Wayne saw an inscription on the wall: As above, so below, the whole is the one.

“Common text for Alchemy.

This test is one of knowledge.

If I’m not mistaken, there’s a chanism nearby.”

After analyzing, Wayne stepped aside to let Veronica solve the puzzle: “Your turn.”

Veronica nodded, wound up her fist, and smashed it into the stone wall.

With one punch, a fissure exploded in the wall, cracking in half with a snap.

Wayne blinked, patting Veronica’s head with approval: “Clever thinking, knowing what you’re good at.”

“I’m not lacking in brains, given ti I could have solved the puzzle, but this is faster…” Veronica muttered in her defense.

“No problem, I wasn’t being sarcastic — I’m really complinting you.

Playing to your strengths and taking initiative, Veronica, you’ve grown.” Wayne covered his face, turned to lean on the wall, his shoulders shaking with the joy of seeing a child mature.

Veronica, with a scowl, punched Wayne and kicked through the stone door ahead, entering a circular underground tomb.

The tomb was spacious, Elental Torches burned brightly undying, illuminating various complex and abstruse Magic Array Diagrams on the walls.

Stunned by the sight, Wayne had to admit that the production team put in great effort; such complex diagrams likely ant three straight days and nights of overti.

In the center of the tomb, a stone sarcophagus opened, revealing Knight Armor lying quietly inside, hands crossed over the chest, clutching the Blood Crystal Gem.

The last Philosopher’s Stone.

Wayne slled a hint of alcohol in the air and heard a heartbeat coming from within the Knight Armor, signaling that there was an actor inside.

Wayne reached for the Philosopher’s Stone, but suddenly, sothing unexpected happened.

The Knight Armor ca to life, flipped out of the sarcophagus and crashed into the wall.

The Magic Array activated, and just like that, it vanished through a teleportation portal.

“Sons of the beach, even at the last level you add extra scenes!”

Wayne cursed as he saw the one-ti teleportation passage, its glow dimming and about to extinguish.

In a rush, he pulled Veronica to collide with the wall.

Their surroundings drastically changed, finding themselves in a desolate, decrepit cetery surrounded by overgrown weeds, with plenty of scattered bones on the ground.

“They sure ran fast, like rats…”

Wayne sniffed the air for the scent of alcohol and proceeded briskly through the tombstones, stopping in the center of the cetery, addressing the ground: “Co out, Tomb Robber, it’s better to co out now and save face than for to save it for you.”
