409: Chapter 190: The Iceman Project, Sir Wei 409: Chapter 190: The Iceman Project, Sir Wei Rupert held up the docunts for all to see, the evidence irrefutable; both the big and small trash were Frank spies, the Lando Family had betrayed the Queen and did not deserve to be mbers of the Tulip Family.

The host, Yvette, didn’t look at the docunts; she smiled at Austin and waited for his explanation.

“There is nothing to explain; this involves a very important matter, I cannot say it out loud, and Mister Wilson, you should not be aware of it either.”

Austin fidgeted with the Ancient Silver Coin, calmly said, “Mister Wilson, your intelligence work has been comndable, you must have put in a lot of effort, but you should not have displayed this docunt, especially at such a critical eting.”

“Austin, you still want to quibble at the last mont?” Rupert rebuked loudly.

Austin shrugged and looked at a representative of the Tulip Family who was not present, represented only by a Crystal Ball.

He slowly said, “Mister Fleming, please explain to Mister Wilson whether we can speak or not; you are most qualified.”

The Crystal Ball fell silent for a mont before a voice erged, harmonious and profitable, “Rupert, Mister Lando is right, you should not have produced this intelligence report; it puts in a difficult position.”

Rupert’s face darkened; he put down the docunts and sat back down, so easily persuaded.

The Crystal Ball once again transmitted Fleming’s voice: “Mister Wayne is from Windsor and is qualified to be the Lando Family’s heir.

His personal information has been erased by the intelligence departnt, the information you all have gathered is untrue, and I have reported the specifics to the Queen, anyone still dissatisfied can inquire with Her Majesty personally.”

As the voice faded, no further questions arose in the room.

Wayne’s eyes widened, curious about who this big shot was, capable not only of silencing all the Tulip Family representatives but also of convincing the Queen, turning black to white and a Frank spy into one of their own.

Moreover, given Austin’s unruffled deanor, it was clear he had been prepared all along.

He once thought the Magic Departnt was full of trash, but he did not expect there were stronger players within, the Tulip Family’s trash were not to be outdone, they did not even pretend; they blatantly betrayed the country.

This wasn’t selling out the country, this was outright selling the Queen!

Wayne, full of questions, glanced at the composed Austin and decided to ask for clarification later.

“Ladies and gentlen, Austin Lando has nominated Wayne as the heir to the Lando Family, does anyone else have any objections?” Yvette asked with a smile.

After three calls, no one objected, and they moved on to the voting phase.

As expected, the vote failed, and Wayne did not get the approval of the Tulip Family representatives.

Thirteen votes in total, four in favor, seven against, two abstentions.

Fourteen Tulip Family representatives were expected, thirteen were present, one was absent.

The representative from the Patino Family did not show up.

The reason for the absence was simple; before adopting the Windsor na, Obub was called Obub Patino.

Following procedure, with the vote failing, the decision on whether Wayne could beco the heir to the Lando Family fell to the Queen, her word would be final.

Yvette put on a show, coughing lightly as she read the Queen’s handwritten letter.

A long speech mostly filled with irrelevant details, the only aningful sentence was at the end.

Her Majesty acknowledged Wayne’s personal abilities and his indelible contribution to the country, approving him as the heir to the Lando Family, and awarded him an Imperial Knight dal.

The eting concluded, everyone went their separate ways.

Among the attendees, Yvette, as the host, congratulated Austin on achieving his desire and promptly left; Rupert, who ca looking for trouble but found none, cheerily congratulated Austin as if nothing had happened before.

Savvy politicians are like this; the past is the past, the present is the present, the from earlier is not the now; past conflicts don’t necessarily persist into the present.

Barny wasn’t there to pick a fight; he simply disliked Austin and cast a favorable vote just to annoy Austin and his son.

Regarding the outco, he was very satisfied, looking forward to the day of the wedding, anticipating that Austin’s children would rge and, a few months later, give birth to an idiot grandchild.

If it turns out to be a freak, all the better.

Any pleasure that ca Austin’s way, he enjoyed.

The goals of the tobacco rchant Fierst were unclear; likely most of his work was done by his secretary, and since he didn’t want to do the secretary’s job, he ca to stir up excitent.

Wayne followed Austin to the minister’s exclusive office building for the knighthood ceremony.

“Austin, who was the Fleming gentleman speaking earlier, and how much did you pay to secure his testimony?”

“Carmin Fleming, his family mbers mostly serve in the military, holding prominent positions; it cost nothing, he testified voluntarily for you.”

“???”

Seeing the puzzlent on Wayne’s face, which seed almost genuine, Austin couldn’t help but curl his lips: “You were originally an intelligence operative from Windsor, assigned to Frank as an undercover agent, and then absorbed back into the intelligence organization and sent back to Lundan.”

“Ah?!”

Wayne’s forehead creased with even more question marks; while there could be such a possibility, it seed too upright; he inclined more toward the idea that Austin and Fleming struck an unspeakable deal.

“I have a thorough understanding of your background; there’s no need to pretend anymore.”

Austin appeared disgruntled; he had investigated Wayne three tis, with the first attempt outsourced yielding nothing, the second an effort through connections revealing Wayne as a Frank spy.

The third ti…

Because the investigation went too deep and thorough, the Windsor intelligence departnt had to step in, asking Austin to cease his inquiries.

Windsor has many intelligence departnts serving different clients, the most renowned being the National Security Agency, the Secret Intelligence Bureau, and the Governnt Communications Headquarters, collectively known as the Triad, the Trident.
