382: Chapter 181: Moonlight Shares Surge 382: Chapter 181: Moonlight Shares Surge “Devil…”
Swirling in her muttered breath, Dorine avoided a direct answer and said instead, “The Devil indeed cannot be ignored, but your strength is even less than mine, how can you confront the Devil?”
She shook her head, “Leave now, you have funded the Moonlight Church, and I hold no malice toward you.”
Wayne was surprised, “Since you’re not controlled by the Devil, and you dislike the Devil so much, why would you collaborate with them and regard the High Priest as an enemy?”
“This is not for you to know.
If I told you, I would certainly have to kill you to silence you.
Are you sure you want to hear it?” Dorine said indifferently, her voice soft and beautiful, lacking any threat.
“I’m a detective, I’m willing to die as long as I can learn the truth,” Wayne declared with righteousness.
“The Church could never grow and thrive in Windsor, the most successful in the Life Alliance is the Naturalism Church, and yet, the Dark Knight appeared, wiping out centuries of the Naturalism Church’s efforts.”
Dorine recounted calmly, concluding that the Dark Knight was related to the Magic Departnt, and continued, “The High Priest has considerable prestige, and her power is not to be underestimated, it is said she has nearly reached the realm of the Legendary Mage…”
“But what of it?”
“Even if she is a Legendary Mage, she’s no match for the Dark Knight, let alone the Death Knight’s minions touching Lundan.”
“The Magic Departnt won’t let the Life Alliance grow strong; all their sches and arrangents are aid at Heavenly Father’s Court!”
“Moonlight Church aims to expand in Windsor, but aside from external pressures, there must be an absolute powerhouse in control…”
Dorine spoke in contradictions, “The High Priest’s power is not enough, but if she died, the resulting influence would be sufficient for the Royal Family to abandon their current strategy.”
Wayne frowned while listening; honestly, he couldn’t grasp it.
It seed the woman opposite had a muddled mind, her plan was full of flaws and devoid of logic, the epito of self-righteousness.
Having finished speaking, Dorine ford a sword with her fingers and raised it as the moonlight enveloped Wayne, preparing to dispatch him on his final journey.
“Wait a mont, let say sothing.”
Wayne raised his hand to stop her, wanting to die with understanding, “The absolute powerhouse you ntioned, is it the new Legendary Mage from the Moonlight Church?”
“No, he has always been in Windsor.”
“There’s such a thing…”
Wayne’s heart skipped a beat, pondering a possibility, and tentatively asked, “A Legendary Mage from the Magic Departnt?”
“Mister Wayne, these are not things you should know.”
“Co on, I’m about to die!”
“That still doesn’t make it okay.”
Dorine smiled, and the sword-shaped fingers fell as the accumulated moonlight solidified, almost tangible, the blurry figure of the Goddess faintly visible.
This funeral was extravagant indeed.
“Wait another mont, I have sothing else to say!”
Wayne pressed his hands together and tilted his head, “To be frank, I’m secretly betrothed to your foster daughter, Clarice, and we’ve already done..
this and that.
For the sake of Clarice, let ask clearly before I die.”
“Mister Wayne, stop joking.
Clarice is a self-respecting good girl.
She is very pure and has not been defiled by you.”
“…”
What did she an by defiled, hey, you old hag, get off your high horse when I complint you!
Wayne snorted coldly, “I’ve never been inside, but there are many ways couples interact.
Not going inside doesn’t an nothing happened.
If you don’t believe , ask her if we’ve done that kind of thing.”
At those words, Dorine was stunned for a mont.
Soon, her face beca terribly dark, and her murderous intent enveloped Wayne, locking down the space around him.
A Priestess, quite knowledgeable, aren’t you?!
Wayne raised an eyebrow, suspecting Dorine might have experienced such things herself, and continued his self-destructive questioning, “So, that man, the Legendary Mage from the Magic Departnt is your lover!”
Boom!!
The watery moonlight spread, converging into a thick fog that enveloped Wayne’s location in every direction without a blind spot.
Cold, sharp blades wove into a vast net, crisscrossing densely, and in an instant, the frequency of the attacks increased to a density that expelled all life, leaving no chance for survival.
“Clarice is no longer pure, she cannot be chosen for rebirth; the ritual must be stopped!”
Dorine turned green, took a couple of steps away, and was then called back by a cold voice from behind.
“Hey, what do you an by ritual and rebirth, where is Clarice?”
Wayne walked out of the thick fog, surrounded by Death Essence, his grey eyes emitting a gloomy luster, his expression terrifyingly cold.
“Death?!”
Dorine paled with shock, “You are a student of the Naturalism Church High Priest, why do you possess Faith Magic of Death?”
And it’s so advanced it can withstand a Golden Mage’s all-out attack!
“Answer , what do ritual and rebirth an?”
Wayne advanced, the grey tendrils of Death Essence spreading outwards, withering anything alive, reducing everything tangible and intangible to ashes.
Dorine was overwheld by his presence and unconsciously stepped back a few paces.
Regaining her ground, she attempted to claim the moral high ground, “The Naturalism Church’s High Priest colluding with the Death Church, the Alliance will not stand by, you and your teacher are dood.”
“You should worry about living first!”
Wayne spread his fingers wide; a surge of Death Essence flooded in, the shock wave rippling the air, and a dreadful intent to kill pressed instantly in front of Dorine.
The latter’s eyes reflected an incredible fear as the Life Barrier failed to stop the encroachnt of the Death Essence.
“This is impossible!”
Dorine was incredulous; she had fought against many Mages from the Death Church, including those of the Gold Level.
At equal levels, neither side could get the better of the other.
Observing Wayne’s crude use of the Death Essence, it could be described as rudintary, unfit to carry the shoes of the intricate art of a Golden Mage, impossible to shake her Life Barrier.
Crack!
The Life Barrier began to show cracks, on the verge of collapse.
