152: Chapter 100 Ancient God_2 152: Chapter 100 Ancient God_2 Devout worship rose in succession, growing larger and larger in scale, until even the mbers of the Sea God Society believed it to be true, expressing from their hearts their loyalty to their faith.

The believers awaited the inspection and assessnt of their god, a day they had long anticipated.

An invisible radiance shifted from the statue and was absorbed by the Evil God with outstretched arms, who closed his eyes and emitted a pleasured moan, muttering to himself.

“Pure and unrequited faith, delectably delicious, far tastier than those greedy ones…”

The Evil God could not help but laugh aloud; with the aid of their faith, his power grew once again, and simultaneously, his thinking beca clearer than ever before.

Unlike the murky delirium of Hell, with its constant intense desire for destruction, he gradually ca to understand everything and began to see this world clearly.

“Pure faith is indeed the most precious treasure in the world; no wonder they all adorn themselves so perfectly!”

The Evil God glanced over his kneeling followers, and before he knew it, these simple believers already had red eyes, labored breaths, and distorted facial features, exuding a bloodthirstiness.

“Heh heh heh heh———”

The Evil God laughed heartily, fitting for his followers, to grasp the essence of blood so quickly.

But it wasn’t enough!

An invisible force field erged and spread rapidly with the sound of the Evil God’s laughter; the islanders within the field swelled in size, emitting unconscious low growls, as green scales tore through their clothes, transforming them into bipedal crocodiles.

“Go, my children, pursue the bloodthirst in your hearts, chase your most primal desires,” the Evil God raised his arms, his voice overpowering the howling wind, overshadowing the blood-red lightning in the storm clouds.

Spurred on by this bloodlust, the crocodile monsters roared continuously as they surged out of the Sea God Society en masse.

Humming!!

A burst of intense light cleaved the cloud-covered sky, pulling down sunlight from above.

The warm sunshine, like hot oil at this mont, stung the eyes of the crocodile monsters and seared their scales, making them let out pitiful howls of pain.

The knight, clad in armor with a long-sword in hand, ca bathed in sunlight, the rust fading from his armor to reveal a renewed brilliance.

The blurred patterns on the armor gradually clarified, and the fire of thought branded on the armor burst forth in an instant, manifesting the knight’s awe-inspiring, holy visage.

With a high nose bridge and piercing gaze, elegant and deep facial contours, and golden hair billowing, revealing long ears akin to those of an elf.

“Knight of the Sun Goddess…”

The Evil God raised an eyebrow, not understanding why there was always soone standing in his way, especially this ti, a knight long dead, with only a wisp of thought daring to obstruct his path.

How laughable, such a petty knight!

The knight did not target the Evil God; she was drawn by Dragon Blood.

Scanning the area, it just so happened that the Evil God’s veins carried Dragon Blood.

The knight in armor sprinted with a brief acceleration as swift as teleportation, leaping above the Evil God to slash down with her long sword.

Clang!

The Evil God held a blood crystal, transford into a strangely shaped blade to block, and the clashing weapons forced the Evil God, bolstered by Dragon Blood, to retreat repeatedly, smashing the Sea God statue behind him.

The Evil God skidded back, astonished by the knight’s power, yet that was all; his thinking had evolved, and not just a dead knight—even a few more living ones would only watch him do as he pleased.

The knight stepped forward, brandishing her long sword with forceful and heavy blows, directly aiming for the Evil God’s heart.

The latter grew accustod to the knight’s strength, accurately seizing the mont of her change in technique, the blood-colored blade thrusting directly at the knight’s face.

The knight’s body dispersed into points of light along with the armor, vanishing altogether before reappearing behind the Evil God, sword in both hands, chopping down heavily.

The Evil God was taken aback, using the horns on his head to block the blade and retreating, taking a fresh assessnt of the female knight before him.

“Very old armor, I rember those patterns; from a past era’s relic.

You are a worthy opponent, but a pity you died too soon, and have arrived too late,”

The Evil God, speaking words of regret, concentrated red light onto his forehead horns, striking the knight who had reacted too slowly, blasting her out of the Sea God Society and heavily to the ground.

After crashing down, the knight skidded across the ground in her armor, stopping only when a foot stepped onto her shoulder.

Wayne looked down at the ghostly knight beneath his foot, translucent; she could be a ghost, but what was with the intense sunlight?

You have quite the unorthodox thods, my dear.

The female knight stood up, sword in hand, remaining silent throughout; she did not acknowledge Wayne, not even a glance, chanically making her way towards the Sea God Society, knowing only to pursue battle for Dragon Blood.

Behind Wayne, Veronica spoke softly, explaining the lead-up to this mont.

They had discovered the knight’s armor in the underground river, later awakened by Villy’s Sun Magic.

According to the mural, the female knight was one of the nine mbers of the Dragon Slayers.

“Mural?

What mural?!”

Wayne was sowhat perplexed, wondering if he had missed sothing.

He hadn’t seen that mural.

Twin flas of excitent danced in Villy’s eyes as she looked at the female knight.

Taking a deep breath, she made a resolute vow, “She is a knight of the Goddess, and I too shall beco a Dragon Slayer like her!”

Thump!

A chop to the head followed.

Wayne watched Villy speechlessly, realizing how naively outspoken she was.

He too yearned to slay dragons, imagining the evil dragon losing its helt and armor in disgrace, but had he ever said it out loud?

Luckily, the problem wasn’t too big.

For the sake of friendship, Wayne decided that when the ti ca to slay the dragon, he would let Villy hold down the creature’s hands.

Boom!

Golden light flew backwards, skidding along the ground.

Wayne had to jam the brakes again to help the knight stop.

It was clear the Evil God possessed unimaginable strength and was re toying with the knight.

Wayne weighed his own capabilities and the outlook wasn’t promising.

Unless he could draw the Shadowmare, it seed like star-crossed lovers entering their graves; he would likely have to perish alongside Veronica and Villy that day.

Instead of rushing blindly this ti, the knight knelt on one knee, drove her sword into the ground, and seed to be preparing so sort of powerful attack.

Her body gradually beca transparent, darkening transparently, endlessly absorbing the sunlight around her.

Villy watched, transfixed, as she transford into a little being of light, a portable charger, turning all her magic power into sunlight, and funneling it straight into the knight.

The Evil God spread its wings and hovered above the Sea God Society, tauntingly observing the cornered beast below, waiting for any final surprises.

Too easy!

So assured of victory that even throwing the match wouldn’t result in a loss, it was hard to envision any reason for failure that day!

Wayne rembered that there was a small eyeball representing the sun within The Book of Greed.

It hadn’t opened like those for nature and death, but if he forcefully converted his magic power, he could create more light than Villy.

Perhaps it was worth a try!

Wayne’s mind raced, contemplating various tactics using the limited resources around him.

Just as he pondered, he froze on the spot, his eyes wide open, staring at the high-flying Evil God.

To be precise, he was looking behind the Evil God.

Veronica and Villy also stood with their mouths agape, and even the usually stoic knight couldn’t help but reveal a look of shock.

The Evil God sneered, “The sa old tricks, trying to make look behind…

How laughable.

What can you possibly do even if I am deceived?”

With that, it pretended to take the bait and looked back.

This one glance left it completely stunned.

Dragonheart Island, shrouded in dark clouds, was suddenly draped with a black canopy, and from the shattered statue of the Sea God erged a twisted darkness that spread across the sky, as if the Gate of Truth had been opened.

Within the endless starry void, a gaze descended, and the sheer terror of the thought made the Evil God tremble, too terrified to resist.

Ancient God!

Why was there an Ancient God here?

The thought alone filled the Evil God with such fear that it couldn’t stop shaking at the realization it had stolen worship from the Ancient Gods.

It only hoped that the descriptions in the ancient books were accurate, that the Ancient Gods did not care, without likes or dislikes, and certainly without anger.

That gaze swept across everyone, undoing the transformations of the worshipers into crocodile forms, recasting the Sea God statue.

And incidentally, bestowing a reward upon all present.

An unforgiving will bearing down, impartial and even-handed to all.

An endless murmur wrapped around every ear, arcane and as mysterious as the deep ocean, wave upon relentless wave, tangled and chaotic, at tis a gentle whisper, at tis a sharp screech, telling each person an incomprehensible lody, sedating Dragonheart Island into calm after a brief turmoil.

Ordinary folks who couldn’t bear it fainted, and so mages managed to hold on, like Veronica and Villy, who had passed through the Gate of Truth and thereby gained so asure of immunity.

Even they closed their eyes under the derisive voice of order.

Before closing their eyes, they saw the abyss, and the bloated, grotesque body of the Sea God.

In their periphery, a similarly malford body next to them was swelling.

Hiss!

A pale line split Wayne’s chest open, from which a large eyeball erged…
