131: Chapter 91 Ancient Silver Coin_2 131: Chapter 91 Ancient Silver Coin_2 I’m very interested indeed!

“To be honest, not very interested.”

Wayne frowned, “Teacher has told a lot lately, joining the Liberty Alliance is equivalent to betraying her, I don’t want to disappoint her.”

“Just don’t let her find out, you don’t say anything, I don’t say anything, no one will know.”

How can that be, you old geezer, you look totally unreliable!

Wayne rolled his eyes and said honestly, “Dean Plank, your invitation is sincere, and you’ve saved once, it’s really hard for to refuse you, but my teacher ans a lot to …”

“Hold on a second, since you’ve ntioned the High Priest, I must bring up Mister Lando, her husband.”

Plank clearly ca prepared, chuckling said, “Mister Lando gave an offer I couldn’t refuse, to diagnose you as ntally ill in my capacity as dean, urgently needing inpatient treatnt, preferably long-term, for life in Red Leaf Forest Asylum.”

Wayne: “…”

A bit unexpected, but not that much, it’s soone’s style.

“But rest assured, I only agreed with him on the surface…”

Plank started to reveal his plan, give the Dark Ring to Wayne, if Austin ca asking, just say Wayne has already been tainted by darkness.

In this way, Plank got the research funding, Wayne got the Magic Tools, and avoided being relentlessly pursued by Austin, this win-win move ensured a bright future for both.

“It won’t remain hidden for long, he’s not a fool, a little probing would expose everything.”

Wayne shrugged, seeing through Plank’s real plan: “Ultimately, you’re just finding a scapegoat, deceiving into the Liberty Mage Alliance without offending my teacher.”

This remark made Plank lose face, he indeed thought so, and Wayne’s composure was unexpected; he thought ntioning Austin would make Wayne imdiately side with him.

Seeing Plank tugging at his beard without a word, Wayne sighed, “Dean Plank, I am willing to join the Liberty Mage Alliance, but please keep it a secret, so my teacher won’t be disappointed in .”

Plank didn’t understand, was it his sincerity that moved Wayne?

“Regardless, you are a legendary mage of high esteem who also saved my life, I can refuse you once, but I can’t refuse you every ti.” Wayne sighed repeatedly, explaining his helplessness.

His faith in the Nature Goddess was unwavering, his loyalty to his teacher unyielding, he joined the Liberty Mage Alliance only because he was forced.

What started as willing cooperation turned into one-sided pressure, and what was supposed to be a win-win partnership beca impersonal business dealings, the more Plank mulled it over, the more sothing felt off.

Then again, why worry about so much, Wayne is willing to join the Liberty Mage Alliance, and Plank’s goal was achieved.

“Of course, I also have a condition, I hope the dean can agree.”

“Let’s hear it.”

“As for Mister Lando, don’t deceive him, he’s a smart man.

He will see through the ruse that I’ve been tainted by darkness; this plan is pointless.” Wayne urged Plank to modify the plan, using a stalling tactic—whenever Austin inquires, just say soon, very soon, imdiately.”

Plank hesitated slightly, as this ant he would not earn any funding.

“He’s not only smart but also ruthless in achieving his goals.

Failure will only invite crazier attacks.

As you see, I’m just a mage apprentice, I don’t have the ti or ability to face him move for move.” Wayne expressed how hard his life was, wanting only to focus on magic, occasionally dabbling with the Magician Girl, and not wanting to waste precious ti on his father-in-law.

Thirty years on one side of Thes River, thirty years on the other, when it’s his turn to rise, then it won’t be late to face his father-in-law.

For now, better to keep a low profile!

Plank, torn for a mont, had to say, “Mister Lando is indeed a tough opponent, I’ll step back—you can keep the ring, and I’ll split the funding with you.”

I’m definitely keeping the ring, and I won’t say no to the funding, but what’s this rush to divide the spoils, no, pass the buck?

You, a legendary mage, still have to look at his face, might as well just beg on your knees!

Are your old money-making sches always this wild?

Wayne was astonished, gathering from Plank’s words a sense of helplessness, reassessing Austin’s status in the underworld, suspecting a connection with the Tulip Family and the Windsor Royal Family.

Pondering distant matters is pointless; Wayne nodded agreent, keeping the ring and half of the funding, the two of them plotting to swindle Austin big ti.

“But!”

Wayne emphasized, “Taking on the risk isn’t enough just for extra money, Dean, you must provide with sothing to increase my power.”

“Didn’t I give you the ring already?”

“The ring is just an aid, strength lies in oneself.

As a mage apprentice, even with a Divine Artifact, I can’t beco a legend.”

Wayne switched to a serious expression instantly, “I need the Four Elents, I need to skip past the beginner stages as soon as possible.

Only if I beco stronger myself can I withstand the endless conspiracies of Mister Lando.”

“That’s not a problem.”

Dean Plank agreed readily.

The Four Elents were nothing to him; he had stored up a lot and didn’t mind giving so to Wayne.

A small amount of money, not much to spend.

“No, this problem is significant, my accumulation of the elents is very slow…”

Wayne’s brows furrowed into a ‘川’: “There seems to be so issue with my physique.

My teacher spent a great deal of effort to help ditate, even specially arranging a Magic Array to gather the Four Elents…”

Wayne spoke at a rapid pace, spewing a litany of words while Dean Plank just smiled in amusent.

Young man, your scope of vision is still too limited!

To Dean Plank, Wayne’s teacher was a Golden Mage, not yet exposed to higher echelons, not aware of the other uses for the Four Elents, and their collection thods were not particularly sophisticated.

Dean Plank was different, being a Legendary Mage.

The Four Elents were no issue for him; he could provide as much as Wayne wanted.

“Wayne, there is indeed sothing unusual with your physique, which has caused your Essence of Life to transform.

Otherwise, you couldn’t bear the backlash from the myriad of beliefs.

Similarly, a powerful essence requires more of the Four Elents, which makes sense.

Your teacher can’t satisfy your needs, but our Liberty Mage Alliance can.”

Dean Plank had no doubt about this; he valued Wayne’s unique physique, or perhaps his bloodline, and took out an Ancient Silver Coin from his chest and handed it over.

“This silver coin is…”

Wayne had seen the sa kind in Austin’s possession.

“It’s a token of the Liberty Mage Alliance, owned only by a select few.

I’m lending it to you for a while,” said Dean Plank with utmost generosity.

He explained to Wayne that the Liberty Mage Alliance once captured a Grey Space, a world collapsing back to its origin, emitting an imnse amount of the Four Elents, an exaggerated amount beyond belief.

The Ancient Silver Coin acted as a passage to that space, able to transfer the Four Elents to its holder.

Wayne could eat his fill; the supply from the Grey Space was massive and wouldn’t mind his appetite.

“What is the Grey Space?”

Wayne suppressed his ecstasy, took the Ancient Silver Coin, and acknowledged the reliability of the Liberty Mage Alliance— and his father-in-law once again for his assistance.

Giving a daughter, a wife, a house, a butler, and constantly providing resources and equipnt for cultivation, even going so far as to willingly play the fool, Wayne swore that once he made it, he would ensure his father-in-law’s good days would not be few.

“That is a fallen miracle, proof to us that gods are not eternal…”

Dean Plank smiled mysteriously, seeing Wayne’s increased curiosity he shook his head, “This is too early for you.

Just rember one thing: faith doesn’t have to be absolute, gods don’t care, and the true essence of the world is Magic, not the gods!”

Wayne nodded, he had his own views about gods but wouldn’t argue with a Legendary Mage.

Listening to the experience of an elder was never a bad thing.

The deal was done, Wayne joined the Liberty Mage Alliance, obtained a Dark Ring and an Ancient Silver Coin, and was eager to return to his cabin to practice.

Dean Plank had successfully tempted Wayne and was equally pleased.

Both n left the cabin and dived into the water together.

At this ti, the crew, having ford an exploration team, just climbed onto the deck of the Ghost Ship and their treasure-hunting adventure was in full swing.

Director Wallace also set foot on the Ghost Ship as hoped, shooting precious footage under the protection of several crew mbers.

Night.

The full moon hung high.

Wayne sat cross-legged on the cabin sofa, holding the Ancient Silver Coin, and opened the transmission portal to the Grey Space.

Unlike the Elental Space of the Void Lord, through the transmission portal, Wayne saw a gray and obscure world, one that was crumbling…

This world had spectacular buildings, mountain ranges, verdant forests, and vast oceans, none lacking, all disintegrating and decomposing, with vast quantities of the Four Elents within.

Each occupied a corner, with alarming density.

The quantity-induced qualitative change manifested into the tangible earth, fire, water, and wind of nature.

The Great Eyeball opened, affirming through the look in its eyes, and the Fire Elent howled as it rushed over.

Wayne couldn’t help but curve the corners of his mouth.

If the Void Lord had a spirit in the world, seeing soone inherit his legacy would surely let him rest with a smile in the netherworld.
