Chapter 1262: Chapter 427 Goddess, Master, Mother_2

“Uh…”

“Take it, Wayne, this is my request.”

Rone offered the fragnts of the Goddess of Death’s thoughts with both hands. Wayne refused, disagreed several tis, but after three refusals and insistences, Wayne reluctantly accepted Rone’s offering: the goddess, the master, the mother.

The Pure Love War God glanced in the mirror, revealing dazzling golden hair and two sharp bull horns.

Wayne took the thoughts and placed them into his right eye. The two fragnts of the Goddess of Death’s thoughts rged and were soon enveloped layer upon layer by pale tentacles.

Enclosing, penetrating, reshaping…

The Goddess of Death could never return again!

Wayne squinted at the instigator, pursing his lips: “So, um, what about the goddess’s thoughts inside Yuliya? Should I take charge of them too?”

“It would be best for you to keep them close, that way the goddess will remain safe.”

Having fulfilled one heartfelt task, Rone spared no praise for Wayne, but then added with so regret: “Yuliya’s situation is different. When the goddess forged her, she fused her thoughts directly into her. In other words, Yuliya is a living incarnation of the goddess.”

No wonder she’s clumsy and not particularly bright, yet stellar at solving problems!

Wayne suddenly understood, but his thoughts drifted to soplace unspoken, and he dryly remarked: “If she’s the goddess’s incarnation, then does that an we’re essentially riding the goddess? Isn’t that kind of… you know what I an.”

“No, with the goddess’s thoughts housed within us, we haven’t committed any irreverent transgressions,” Rone replied slowly.

What does that an? The goddess… rides herself?

So that’s your justification for comfortably riding your goddess, master, and mother?

Wayne expressed skepticism. Rone, this ungrateful son, seed especially awkward about his feelings toward Yuliya—clear signs of ulterior motives.

Ugh, morally bankrupt, utterly shaless!

Noticing Wayne’s disdainful gaze, Rone hurried to explain himself, gritting his teeth to appear sincere: “I’ve lost the goddess’s thoughts. From now on, I’m unworthy of ever riding Yuliya again. She’s yours now.”

Though faceless, Rone sohow managed to show a twisted and struggling expression. His words felt forced, almost like a reluctant confession.

Away from the card table, a God-chosen Knight is supposed to embody moral ideals. Wayne couldn’t bear to see Rone sinking deeper into the disgraceful path of betraying his own mother goddess and decided to intervene. With a stern face, he declared: “Don’t worry. From now on, I’ll keep an eye on things. You shall never touch Yuliya again.”

“…”

“Speak up!”

“I—I think that’s how it should be.”

Losing access to Yuliya plunged Rone into deep sorrow. His relationship with her wasn’t as sordid as Wayne imagined. It was purely the camaraderie born from fighting together day after day. But because Yuliya is an incarnation of the Goddess of Death, there was also an admixture of admiration and reverence.

Though complicated, it was absolutely pure.

Having lost the fragnts of the Goddess of Death’s thoughts, Rone dared not summon Yuliya as his steed anymore. His reluctance and mourning were useless—riding her again would be true sacrilege.

Seeing Rone’s terrible expression, even the black smoke around his forehead had faded noticeably. Wayne felt contempt and resolved to summon Yuliya later and ride her around as many tis as possible right in front of Rone.

To completely extinguish any filthy little dreams he harbored.

“Rone, the goddess’s thoughts are divided into multiple fragnts. You only know of three—yours, mine, and Yuliya’s. Counting the one within the Divine Nation, we can tentatively say there are four…”

Wayne furrowed his brow: “There must be more than four. There are surely other fragnts out there. Do you have any leads?”

“I’m not sure for now. This will require you to investigate. Search in the Mortal World; perhaps you’ll uncover additional fragnts.” Rone suggested.

“Any characteristics? Can you give so specific hints? God-chosen Continent is vast; where should I even start?” Wayne shrugged.

“As for characteristics…”

Rone pondered for a mont: “I’m not entirely clear. Our faith centers around death—perhaps immortality could be one of its traits.”

Wayne: (ಠ‸ಠ)

For so reason, an image of a black cat crouched on the grass, straining to defecate, popped into his head.

A dignified Goddess of Death, squatting on a lawn and exerting herself—the scene was utterly eye-searing.

Wayne wanted to block the thought. He muttered “long black hair,” “black stockings,” “red-soled high heels” three tis in succession before his expression brightened sowhat.

To be fair, he was simply a bystander. It wasn’t his fault for lacking devotion—it was the goddess herself who was unreliable.

“Wayne, why does your face look so awful?”

“It’s not that bad—definitely better than yours.”

Wayne retorted with a jab, then added: “To be honest, I think I might have a lead. I’ll give it a try when I get back—maybe I’ll stumble upon another fragnt of the goddess’s thoughts.”

“Really? Is it going to be that easy?” Rone exclaid in delight.

“Not exactly. The goddess has been staying in my house for so long, yet I’ve paid her zero regard. Thinking about it, I feel a bit ashad.” Rembering the peculiar Monica, Wayne fell silent.

Even so, there was a flicker of anticipation. When he returned, shouting “Transform!” at Monica might just conjure up a historical teacher with long black hair, black stockings, and red-soled high heels.

“Your house?”

“Yeah, my house.”

“I knew it; I didn’t misjudge you. The goddess has been by your side all along—she trusts you deeply.” Rone felt even more reassured.

Wayne scratched his head, suddenly recalling sothing, and lowered his voice: “This doesn’t add up. If the black cat in my house is the goddess, then her origin warrants scrutiny.”

Wayne recounted Monica’s peculiarities, including her death and resurrection without affecting those around her, as well as the Lucky Ancient Silver Coin symbolizing death.

“My father possesses a Lucky Ancient Silver Coin granted by Doom Spider Grew. He’s one of the three Proxies—the Observer. After he acquired the coin, the black cat suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The connection between the two cannot be coincidence.” Wayne’s expression grew exceptionally grave.

Rone fell silent, pondering various possibilities.
