Chapter 1257: Chapter 426: You Are My Arch-Enemy, Clown

Surging tides of darkness roared and surged, driving Wayne and Hexuno toward the Hell Gate.

The inexhaustible pull of the Hell Gate rendered Wayne’s efforts futile; despite deploying every trick he knew, he remained unable to escape. This wasn’t his first encounter with the Hell Gate, and his second attempt proved equally hopeless.

A strange, ominous spectacle, as if foreshadowing that all things in existence cannot escape sin.

Alternatively, perhaps it foretold sothing else—that the more heinous one’s sins, the stronger the pull, as if Hell compels them with greater force.

Hexuno, surrounded by roaring flas, surged toward Wayne’s direction with her six wings unfurling in a dance of fury. Her cold, piercing gaze swept across all obstacles, the Oath Sword clearing everything in her path.

Her eyes held no regard for the Hell Gate—only for Wayne.

Far from the depth of the Hell Gate, Archangel Uriel erged from sin-laden chains. Witnessing the scene above, his brows knit in brief concern, yet he refrained from offering aid.

He didn’t particularly like Hexuno, but he was deeply concerned about her purity. If the Demon King could cast the sinner who sullied Heaven into Hell, then all the better.

Righteously convinced, Uriel vowed that Wayne deserved his fate in Hell.

A few scheming souls harbored their own thoughts—Wayne struggled desperately for salvation, Hexuno sought only to save Wayne, Uriel indifferently stood by, and the Lord of Envy…

He laughed incessantly, unable to stop.

“Hahahaha————”

The black tides swept Hexuno and Wayne into the depths of the Hell Gate. As the Hell Gate collapsed, the light of the Mortal World gradually receded, replaced by the encroaching darkness of Hell.

At the sa ti, the Lord of Envy’s power grew madly, infinitely expanding.

Within the black tides forged from thought, countless writhing figures surfaced, each only half-bodied. Every single one bore the likeness of the Lord of Envy.

Hundreds, thousands of Envy manifestations—so raised their arms and laughed unrestrainedly; others crossed their arms, smirking in cold, contemplative derision.

In the end, they all laughed—that alone sufficed.

The release of long-suffered grievances brought a satisfaction and relief impossible to explain. Only the Lord of Envy understood the pain and endurance it had taken to reach this mont.

That joy, like the light of dawn breaking over the horizon, flooded the land in an instant, dispelling the gloom that had long enshrouded his soul. It was not rely an emotional catharsis—it was liberation and rebirth from the deepest recesses of his spirit.

A farewell to the past, an embrace of rebirth and future—even the stench of sulfur in Hell transford into a fresh, intoxicating sweetness at this mont.

“Justice resides within the hearts of beings, and truth does not alter in the face of lies. Hexuno, your disgrace will be laid bare for all Devils to witness…”

“As for , after enduring countless hardships and trials, after unwavering persistence, my rebirth has arrived. These tribulations that failed to crush will only make stronger…”

“Damnable Pride, deceitful Angels, heed my words—I, Envy, have never lied! I demand justice from all of you!”

From the tides of darkness ca Envy’s voice, brimming with conviction.

Upon first hearing, it seed as though this Devil was grasping so profound epiphany, as if his soul had ascended to a higher plane.

Upon closer listening, one sensed bitterness and grievance!

Just what case have you overturned to seem so delighted, looking like this infernal pretension?

Wayne was rendered speechless. At last, he ca to understand why the Lord of Envy, despite perpetually engaging in thankless, losing battles, never relented—it was all about proving himself after the Joker’s grievances went unaddressed.

“So, that’s how it is. Your Excellency—my eternal nesis—the Clown…”

Wayne quipped, incredulous that Envy, one of the Seven Demon Lords, could take such trivial matters so seriously. He couldn’t help but think: why not learn from him—embrace a broader perspective?

Even when Yuliya was trod upon by Rone, he didn’t utter a word.

A radiant white light approached with a powerful stroke of wings. Hexuno raised her arms, embracing Wayne, and carried him in her arms toward the entrance of the Hell Gate.

Chest to chest, the two pressed close together. Hexuno cast a cold glance at Wayne, warning him with her icy eyes: breaking promises has its cost—he would never touch her again.

Wayne, entrapped in Hexuno’s embrace, mistook her cold gaze for affection and felt exhilarated—his cheeks flushed crimson as he gazed at her amorously, whispering, “Hexuno, I knew it. I knew you’d co rescue .”

“I’m Mona!”

“You saw the situation earlier—the Setoras intended to take the Headless Knight’s head back to Hell. If I didn’t intervene, the Hell Gate would reopen in the future. For the sake of saving the world, I had valid cause to break my promises.”

“Unforgivable!”

Hexuno gritted her teeth; though the peril of the Hell Gate was imnse, the safety of the Saint Heir took precedence. A Saint Heir cast into Hell was enough to drive all of Heaven to madness.

“Not forgiving ? So be it…”

Wayne shrugged, unfurling his fleshy wings adorned with Golden Code White Feather to match Hexuno’s rhythm and accelerate alongside her.

It was plain for all to see—he had magnanimously forgiven himself, while Hexuno staunchly refused, accusing him outright of inconsistency and dishonor.

Very well then, Wayne thought, if I’m branded untrustworthy, why not embrace it wholeheartedly? The promises he broke would continue to remain broken; how he touched Hexuno before would be exactly how he touched her henceforth.

After all, he was the epito of unreliability!

The pair’s pace quickened—largely owing to Hexuno’s formidable wings—as the distance to the Hell Gate’s exit grew tantalizingly close.

But the Lord of Envy vehently disagreed. As he wreaked havoc upon the Hell Gate’s structure, he simultaneously launched ferocious attacks to impede Hexuno, determined to drag this infernal couple into Hell.

With too much sunk cost, failure ant utter ruin. Continuing to endure Devil provocations, watch Angels spout lies—he simply couldn’t afford to lose. No, today he had to win!

Upon entering Hell Gate, the Lord of Envy received the blessing of dominion and was fueled by endless streams of thought, his power elevating to a terrifying magnitude.

In Hexuno’s current state, there was no chance of defeating him. Reason dictated that she and Wayne would both be dragged into Hell.
