As the world all began to look for Kai, praying that they would be the ones getting their hands on that massive bounty that could literally change lives, Kai continued to roam the first realm peacefully.
It had been three days since the post by Veyron had been made, and Kai was still unaware of the current situation, as he had not seen anyone that was threatening just yet.
A few players had passed by, but that was about it.
For the past three days, Kai had been focusing on killing as many monsters as possible. Now that his core was at the highest Silver Rank Tier and that he had reached the third Growth Stage of the Nocturne Dragon, it was extrely simple for him to do so as he completely overwheld the monsters he faced.
It had been going so well that Kai was already close to reaching the fourth Growth Stage, getting one step closer to maxing out yet another monster evolution.

"You’re sure that this is the right way?" Kai asked, as he still hadn’t gotten his hands on one of the maps Lily had talked about when they had last called each other.
"Yes, if you continue in this direction, we will arrive in the Elven Forest. You’ll be able to face much stronger monsters in there, and it will make you stronger much faster," Isla replied as she was currently sitting on Kai’s shoulder, her favorite position.
It took only about an hour for Kai to finally arrive at the promised destination, as tall trees lood before him, and the general atmosphere had a clear change. Instead of the gloomy atmosphere that Kai had felt walking all the way here, the forest before him seed a lot more cheerful and peaceful.
’Hm, I wonder if this forest was inspired by fantasy novels?’ Kai thought, as he knew of most of the rumors going around in the books.
The elven forest is very dangerous, and it’s easy to get lost once you enter it. Elves can be very sneaky and dangerous to the unknown. They hate humans and much more.
Isla had confird the last one; as for the other ones, she wasn’t sure since it had been so long since she had t normal elves. So, it was a good thing that Kai didn’t look like a human for the ti being. Isla also said that the area should be fairly safe as long as we didn’t kill too many monsters related to Nature. If we did that, she confird that we would beco great enemies of the Elves.
"Alright, stop admiring it. We’re just wasting ti. Go inside, quickly!" Isla said as she gave a little tap to the back of Kai’s draconic head.
Then, without wasting ti, Kai entered the mystical forest as a ssage appeared before him.
[You are affected by a strong hallucinogen. Be careful of your surroundings, as things may not be like they seem.]
Kai frowned right away, as he didn’t feel anything wrong with his body. He didn’t feel any kind of energy affecting him. Still, he blindly trusted the Mythical Evolution System since it was much more trustworthy than his own senses.
’Isla, I just got a ssage telling that my mind was being affected by a hallucinogen. Is this normal?’ Kai asked ntally, as he had no idea if he was already being watched by soone.
’It is, however, you should be able to partially block it with the poison resistance you have as a Nocturne Dragon,’ Isla replied. ’Even if you can’t, just trust what I say, and everything will be fine.’
Isla spread her senses around herself and felt that nothing was out of order. She didn’t feel any strange presences nearby and indicated to Kai that he could start walking forward without any problems.
A few minutes later of wandering around the Elven Forest, and nothing much had happened. They had seen a few beasts, but they mainly began running away as soon as Kai locked eyes with them.
"Hm, is this normal?" Kai asked, as this kind of behavior was unlike anything he had seen before ever since he had begun playing this ga.
Isla didn’t answer yet, as she made sure to spend so ti analyzing the situation.
"I’m not sure. They seem very scared of you for so reason. However, you are not strong enough yet to have such an effect on those beings. Maybe it’s the darkness energy, but I doubt it. There might be sothing else at play here..." Isla replied as she once again spread her senses around herself, not spotting anything yet again.
’Hm... but there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong. Could my senses also be affected by the Elven Forest?’ Isla thought before dismissing the thought.
There was no way that such a weak hallucinogen could play tricks with her mind and senses. She was much too strong for such a thing to happen.
Then, just as she was about to say sothing else, she suddenly felt danger to Kai’s life coming extrely fast from behind.
"DODGE!" she scread as loudly as she could, no longer worried about anyone finding them.
Kai was surprised by the scream and jumped up by reflex as a crescent of the moon passed under him.
"Run! Quick!" Isla continued to shout as she glanced behind her, trying to find the monster that had attacked them. However, it was nowhere to be seen.
She looked around, trying to find a way out of that situation as she spotted a small cave with a few torches by the entrance.
"Go there!" she pointed as fast as she could.
The cave seed partially abandoned as Kai activated [Shadow Cloak] and [Shadow Armor] to ensure that he was safe on his run.
He camouflaged himself perfectly as he ran inside, unable to feel if there was a monster chasing them.
He ran for his life as his breathing beca more ragged by the second. Within a few seconds, he was already so deep inside the cave that there were no more torches. He was completely surrounded by darkness.
’I-Is it still following us?’ Kai asked ntally to Isla.
’I-I don’t know; best to keep your skill active for now.’
’Do you have any idea what that was?’
’I have an idea, but I have to be wrong here... there’s no way that it’s here...’
Kai frowned. ’Just fucking tell , stop hiding information from !’
’I think... that the monster who attacked us was the Spirit King of the Elven Forest.’
’Spirit King? What the hell does that an? And why would he even try to kill us?’
Isla shook her head. ’He probably saw ... that can be the only reason.’
