As Arvian entered the room, he looked around him. The space felt clean and professional because the walls were painted white.

A long, tallic chair that resembled a seat used for a dical examination stood in the middle of the room. There was a big crystal sphere hovering at the chair’s headrest, softly glowing blue.

The examiner, a middle-aged man with spectacles and a white coat, looked at Arvian and adjusted his glasses.

"Please sit in the chair proprly," the examiner instructed in a calm tone.

As Arvian sat properly on the chair, the crystal above his head began glowing, pulsing with energy.

But then—before even a second had passed—it faded completely.

The room fell silent.

The examiner, who had been monitoring the result screen, suddenly froze. His eyes widened behind his glasses, and his hands trembled slightly as he adjusted the screen.

Arvian noticed the change in his expression and felt a sense of unease.

Frowning, he stood up from the chair.

"A new rank?" The examiner muttered under his breath, still processing what he had just seen.

Arvian’s brows furrowed. "What is it, sir?" He asked cautiously.

The examiner turned to him, his face full of disbelief. **"Until now, the lowest rank recorded was E... but you—you’ve been assigned an entirely new rank. F Rank. A rank that didn’t exist before."

Arvian blinked. "So... I’m even weaker than the weakest?"

The examiner hesitated, then nodded. "At least, according to the results."

Arvian clenched his fists, but his expression remained neutral. He had already lost everything once—a re rank wasn’t enough to shake him.

"Will I still get admission into the Academy?" He asked.

The examiner sighed, rubbing his temples. "Probably. But... this has never happened before. They might make an exception, or they might reject you outright."

Arvian smirked slightly. "Well, guess I’ll find out soon enough."

"I think you will have to directly contact the Academy President... in the academy," the examiner said, still looking at the results in disbelief.

Arvian took the result docunts and left without hesitation. He had no reason to delay—he needed to secure admission as soon as possible.

More than that, he had an urge to uncover the mystery of the system.

Stepping outside, he gazed at the massive academy building in the distance. It was just a few ters away from the Azmundis Academy Association (AAA), standing proudly in the heart of the city of Velkendre—a tropolis blending ancient elegance with modern technology.

Unlike the grand castle that lood in the opposite direction, the academy had a sleek, towering structure, its walls inscribed with glowing runes that pulsed faintly, as if alive.

Taking a deep breath, Arvian stepped forward.

Arvian stepped into the academy, and imdiately, he felt the weight of countless gazes on him. The students whispered among themselves, curiosity flashing in their eyes.

He ignored them.

He had only one goal—to get admitted.

Walking straight to the President’s office, he pushed open the door and placed his result docunts on the desk.

The President, a young man no older than twenty-three, adjusted his glasses as he examined the papers. His brows furrowed slightly.

"A new, unknown rank...?" he muttered.

Then, he looked up at Arvian. "Your result says you’re weaker than the weakest. You’re basically an ordinary human."

Arvian remained silent.

"Can you prove that you’re worthy of this academy?" the President asked, leaning forward. "Show what you can do."

Arvian nodded. "Yes."

The President stood up. "Then defeat in a duel. If you win, you’ll be admitted."

Without hesitation, Arvian agreed.

---

The President led him to a grand, empty hall with smooth white floors and high ceilings. Magic inscriptions lined the walls, glowing faintly.

The President removed his red coat, rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, and took off his glasses. His physique was well-built, stronger than an average person.

Arvian’s mind was already calculating.

’I have my Nyxian form... and I have Red Bolt. That’s all I need.

Infinite speed. Enhanced strength. Hawk-like vision.

This fight is already over.’

They faced each other.

The President smirked. "I’ll let you attack first."

Arvian exhaled.

"Activate Red Bolt," he murmured.

As soon as Arvian activated Red Bolt, a deafening crackling sound filled the air.

Red lightning surged across his body, forming intricate patterns from his hands to his legs. His hair glowed crimson, crackling with electricity, and his eyes turned sharp and red, like a beast locked onto its prey.

The President’s confident smirk vanished. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Arvian moved.

The world blurred.

In an instant, he appeared behind the President, leaving behind faint red afterimages. Without hesitation, he swung a powerful punch at the President’s back.

The President barely had ti to react—his head began to turn, his instincts screaming at him—

But it was too late.

Arvian’s punch landed with full force.

BOOM!

A shockwave burst through the hall, shaking the walls.

But—

An invisible force blocked the hit.

A powerful energy barrier flared around the President’s back, absorbing the impact. Arvian’s fist stopped just inches away.

His eyes widened.

He quickly retreated, his instincts warning him.

The President stood completely still. He hadn’t even moved.

Then, he turned his head slightly and smiled.

"...Interesting."

Arvian narrowed his eyes. Red Bolt wasn’t enough.

The President’s barrier had effortlessly nullified his attack, and the man was barely taking him seriously.

Fine then... he’d step it up.

"Activate—Nyxian Form."

The air shuddered as darkness coiled around Arvian like living shadows. His crackling red lightning rged with eerie black tendrils, forming an ominous aura that warped the very air around him. His eyes, already red, now had a sinister golden slit running through the middle, like a predator eyeing its prey.

The President’s smirk faded. His hands instinctively tensed.

WHOOSH!

Arvian vanished.

He reappeared mid-air, spinning above the President. His hand extended—a pulsating sphere of lightning and darkness swirled into existence.

"Fulgur Spheara!"

The black-and-red sphere of compressed energy roared, distorting space itself as it shot forward like a teor.

BOOOOM!

The mont it made contact—

The entire hall exploded.

The floor shattered into craters. Debris and dust surged like a storm. The Academy’s barrier system barely held up, flickering as it absorbed the impact.

Arvian landed gracefully, his eyes locked onto the smoke-filled impact zone. His breathing was steady.

"...Did that get him?"

Then—

A voice cut through the dust.

"Not bad."

The smoke parted—and there stood the President, completely unhard.

No—his coat was missing, his sleeves torn, but his body was intact. A faint golden energy shimred around him.

He cracked his knuckles.

"Alright," he said, eyes gleaming with interest.

"My turn."

BOOM!

The next thing Arvian saw—a golden fist racing toward his face.

Arvian blinked, his body still tense, ready to dodge or counter. But instead of a devastating punch, the President simply laughed and placed his hand on Arvian’s shoulders.

"Haha! You pass."

Arvian’s glowing red eyes flickered with confusion. "...What?"

The President grinned. "I just wanted to see what you were capable of. And I have to say, you’re interesting." He dusted off his torn sleeves. "Your rank might be F, but that power? It’s far from weak."

Arvian’s heartbeat, still racing from battle, slowly steadied. He deactivated Nyxian Form, his hair and eyes returning to normal, though crackles of red lightning still danced faintly across his skin.

"So... I don’t have to fight anymore?" he asked, still wary.

The President shook his head. "Nope. Welco to Velhoria Academy." He grinned. "Though, I suggest keeping that power under wraps for now. There are a lot of eyes in this academy... and not all of them are friendly."

Arvian exhaled, relief and excitent mixing in his chest. He had made it in.
