Chapter 107: Chapter 106 “Thank You
Lucy Morn woke up to find herself in a sealed iron room, with the only light coming from an LED strip overhead. The cold white glow seed to forewarn her of the predicant at hand.
Both her hands and feet were securely locked in iron chains, making it difficult to move even slightly, and the occasional vibrations passing through the iron room quickly helped her realize where she was.
It was the cargo area of a small truck.
And the vehicle was speeding along the road.
She licked the remnants of the tallic taste of blood off her lips and slowly raised her head, looking at the three masked people opposite her, “Was it you guys who kidnapped ? Heh…”
“What’s so funny?” one of them asked.
“Do you know who I am?”
“Lucy Morn.”
“Then you should also know that you’re already dead,” she spat out a glob of saliva, “Don’t think hiding behind masks will save you. The Skojia Gang will root you out, along with your entire family, no one will escape!”
But… how did these people get her out of the villa? The headache that surged through Lucy’s head as she tried to rember was imnse. All she could recall was the ceiling exploding suddenly, sothing crashing down on one end of the dining table, followed by a burst of gunfire, and then her mory went blank.
“It seems you’ve mistaken sothing,” Ailuodi squatted in front of her, “Thinking we’re assassins from another gang? No… no one can send us.”
Lucy Morn was sowhat surprised, “Then what’s your purpose for kidnapping ?”
Ailuodi pulled out a few credit cards from her pocket, which were also found on her captive, “Tell us the passwords.”
This ti, Lucy was truly stunned.
She then burst into laughter, “Madn, you want to ss with the Skojia Gang’s money? I suggest you’d rather rob a bank, at least that way you wouldn’t be risking your lives!”
“What’s the password?” Ailuodi asked as if she hadn’t heard her words.
“If you want to die, I certainly won’t stop you,” Lucy Morn rattled off a few random strings of passwords. That money wasn’t hers alone, touching it equated to cutting oneself off from City L. And just having the passwords was useless; to ensure security, these accounts couldn’t conduct online transfers but required soone to go to a specific bank with the card.
Ailuodi signaled to soone behind her.
Frey opened her computer, typing away at the keyboard, “The passwords are all correct, but we need additional identity verification.”
“Thank you,” she stood up, stepping back two paces.
“So what’s next, you’re going to kill
or let
go?” Lucy Morn sneered aggressively at the three people, “But no matter what you do, don’t think this will be the end of it. No one crosses the Skojia Gang without paying a price. If you let
go, I may only take your lives. But if you choose the other path… I guarantee that any relatives linked to you, including children, won’t live to see another day!”
“If I were you… I at least wouldn’t be so impolite when my life is in soone else’s hands,” ca the calm retort.
“You want to hear
beg for rcy?” Lucy sneered contemptuously, “The only thing I want to do now is to pull out your guts, and then strangle you to death!”
“Coalball, she’s all yours,” Ailuodi walked to a corner of the van.
Coalball stepped forward, reaching up to remove her skull mask. “You don’t know who I am right now, but I assure you, for the rest of your life, you’ll rember what I look like.”
“The rest of my life?”
“That’s right, we’re not going to kill you, nor let you go. We’ll hand you over to the City L police, along with those bank cards. The police won’t just be able to access the money but also might take the opportunity to investigate where the drug funds are coming from.”
This was sothing Lucy Morn had never anticipated. In her mind, she had imagined dozens of identities for her kidnappers, but it never crossed her mind that they were playing the “heroic thief ga.”
At this point, she silenced herself. Landing in police custody wasn’t such a bad outco; at most it would be a bit of a hassle, but the connections she had and the expensive team of lawyers wouldn’t let her actually end up in jail.
“I know what you’re thinking,” Coalball said with a smile, “You feel like you won’t be inside for too long, that you might not even be convicted, right?” She pulled out her shotgun from behind and cocked it.
“You—” the words hadn’t left Lucy Morn’s mouth when a loud bang erupted!
The shot sent sparks flying off the thin steel plate, shredding her right hand to a bloody pulp in an instant!
Lucy scread out in agony!
“Ahhh— I’m going to slaughter you!”
“That shot was for my mother!” Coalball pumped the shotgun again, aiming at her left hand and pulling the trigger!
Lucy Morn’s other hand was also blown apart, white bone protruding through the torn flesh. Now she gained a degree of freedom, her upper body no longer restrained, but she couldn’t even stand, slipping in the pool of blood beneath her.
“This one’s for my sister!”
“I had no idea who they were, damn it!”
Coalball continued to chamber a round, and the next shot turned Lucy’s left knee into a ss of mush.
“Although I didn’t like my father, if it hadn’t been for you, he wouldn’t have ended up like that.”
At this mont, all Lucy could do was gasp for air.
The severe pain from his limbs caused his consciousness to start blurring.
“The last bullet is for those you’ve poisoned, people of low status who were never given a fair look by this city, but that doesn’t an everyone has chosen to forget them, and there will always be those who rember!” Coalball shouted, firing the last shot!
The last of Lucy Morn’s right knees also shattered, along with his lower leg completely detaching from his body.
“Now… do you think you can escape justice with your lawyers and return to the Skojia Gang like before?” Coalball put away his gun and looked down coldly at the collapsed figure, “The gang won’t take a man who can’t fend for himself as their leader. You can’t negotiate with other gangs sitting in a wheelchair, they’ll only see you as a joke. When you can no longer squeeze money for the higher-ups, why would they protect you like before?”
Lucy’s body began to tremble slightly.
“No… no…”
The car screeched to a halt, and three people opened the tailgate, jumping out of the vehicle one after another.
Coalball was the last one out.
“Don’t leave, kill ! I am Lucy Morn, you… you can’t humiliate
like this!” He lifted his head, yelling with his last ounce of strength.
“Death is too good for soone like you.” Coalball cast one final glance at him, then closed the car door, “I said you would rember what I look like for the rest of your life, and that is the price you deserve.”
“No!”
The mont the trunk door closed, darkness enveloped everything inside the car.
…
Chaoyang paced the corridors of Yeni Temple, feeling the satisfaction that ca with achieving a asure of success in his endeavors, the nuns enthusiastically bowed to him as they passed by, and his mood improved every ti he saw those white lines hanging in mid-air.
It felt rather like watching his own vegetable garden thrive where there once was wasteland.
Not just in pharmaceuticals and treating patients, Paradise had made considerable progress in other areas as well.
—Such as establishing its own ard forces.
After thorough deliberation, the players decided to recruit locally, targeting those bottom-level workers abandoned by factories and mines. They had been infected due to work injuries, suffering inflad wounds ant to be a death sentence in the Temple, but with the use of antibiotics, these people recovered remarkably quickly. Both their age and physical condition t the requirents for a security force.
Zhang Zhiyuan and Zhou Zhi had now taken charge of this matter. Walking through the Temple, recruitnt notices could be seen posted all over the walls. Not being able to read didn’t matter as the nuns also beca free promoters, who didn’t forget to ntion it even while delivering als to the patients after learning that these were the guards of Gate of Destiny Pharmaceutical Company.
anwhile, the reputation of the pharmaceutical company climbed higher, especially when the public realized the freely distributed drugs truly worked. The calls to purchase these dications gradually grew louder.
However, Tyler, Qianyuan iko, and others believed that it was still possible to wait a little longer, letting the public appreciate the power of hunger marketing.
Anyway, everything here seed to be bustling with life and growth.
Suddenly, Chaoyang saw a figure dart out from the corridor.
It was Ailuodi.
You could tell she was in a good mood too; even her walk had a breeze to it.
Quite literally a breeze.
Ailuodi stopped in front of Chaoyang, hands behind her back, and asked, “Good morning, how many days have I been gone?”
“About two days or so, and just to ntion, it’s noon right now. Are you done with your business over there?”
“Yes, it went very well.”
“Won’t you tell
what happened?” Chaoyang asked curiously.
“It’s a secret for now. But…” She suddenly reached out her hand, clenched her fist, and presented it to Chaoyang, “Your hand? Do the sa, clench it.”
“What are you doing?” Chaoyang raised his hand.
“Serlibear!” Ailuodi made a fist bump, “You have a part in this success… I’m not just thanking you on behalf of myself, but also on behalf of all the mbers of Skeleton Hand. Thank you.”
