414 Chapter 413 Liu Xiaoyu
Yang Jian had just stepped out of the airport into the lobby when a special receptionist was already waiting there for him.
For his type of unique individual, headquarters naturally arranged dedicated personnel services with quite high standards, including special hotel accommodations, dedicated car transfers, and even dedicated drivers and accompanying staff for outings.
Of course, good treatnt is one aspect, but another is not wanting ghost whisperers to have incidents in J City.
Such people all have certain defects and cannot be speculated upon with normal human thinking. If left unmanaged now that they are gathering in J City, who knows what trouble might ensue.
Following a staff mber out of the airport, a vehicle with a special plate number was already waiting.
"The driver will take you to the hotel to rest, and soone else will be in charge of receiving you later, please rest assured," said the accompanying staff mber with a smile.
"He's coming with ," Yang Jian pointed at Wan Delu.
"As you wish."
Yang Jian nodded and got into the car with Wan Delu.
However, as soon as he got in the car, he slled a peculiar fragrance. It wasn't too strong or too light, just right, making it quite comfortable.
"What's this scent?" Yang Jian frowned.
"Sandalwood, it's sandalwood," a woman's voice ca from inside the car, sounding familiar, yet he couldn't quite place it at the mont.
As Yang Jian settled in, he saw a cute girl in a dress with two long ponytails, who was petite and fetching, sitting on the far left seat, making one unable to help but take a few extra glances.
"Why light sandalwood?" he continued to inquire.
"To mask a scent," the very cute girl turned her head, her large bright eyes filled with joy and curiosity as she examined Yang Jian.
It was as if she was observing so rare animal, scanning up and down without missing any detail.
"Hold this for ."
Yang Jian placed his luggage bag at his feet and stuffed the golden soul jar into the arms of Wan Delu beside him.
Wan Delu shivered in fear, grasping the jar with a pale face. He neither dared to let go of it nor to hold it close. He knew exactly what was inside; that Guo Fan, a ghost whisperer, had almost been killed by the ghost inside.
"To mask what scent?" Yang Jian asked again.
"The sll of decay."
"Most ghost whisperers have this scent on them, and J City is a special place after all. If soone walks through the streets emitting the stench of decay, it could understandably arouse suspicion or even fear in others," the cute girl said with a giggle.
"Is that so?"
Yang Jian's gaze shifted slightly as he looked at her and said, "Have you had enough of a look? Want to take my pants off for you as well?"
"Shaless," the girl spat, turning her face away with a blush.
However, in the next mont, Yang Jian suddenly reached out and grasped the girl's delicate neck, his grip unexpectedly strong, causing her head to slam against the side window. At the sa ti, Ghost Shadow swiftly entered her body through his arm.
"Yang Jian, what are you doing? Let go, let go, it's , Liu Xiaoyu, Liu Xiaoyu..." the cute girl's face quickly turned red as she urgently begged for rcy.
If Jiang Yan were here, she would have found this scene eerily familiar.
"I know you're Liu Xiaoyu; I can recognize your voice. But don't you want to explain what's going on with this car?" Yang Jian's expression darkened slightly as he gave a kick.
The roof of the car caved in, the decorative materials shattered, revealing a golden steel plate beneath,
"The whole car is made of specially engineered materials. If I'm not mistaken, with just the press of a button, the entire car would seal off. This is a mobile corpse bag, ant for , isn't it?"
"First, let go of , please let go first. I'll explain it all once you do. I've been your operator for so long, don't you trust even ?" Liu Xiaoyu, appearing almost suffocated, frantically slapped at the back of Yang Jian's hand.
Yang Jian's gaze wavered slightly, and he slowly let go, "Trust doesn't an I should lower my guard. And I'm asking you because I have so degree of trust. If you were a stranger, do you think I'd be sitting here talking to you?"
"Cough, cough cough." Liu Xiaoyu rubbed her neck, feeling like she had almost been strangled to death.
She couldn't understand how such a violent and perverse man had so many people trusting and relying on him, even shaless won clinging to him.
"Don't play for ti, my patience is very limited," Yang Jian said. "You've been handling my calls for so long, you know what I'm like."
Anyone else would have been terrified by Yang Jian's actions, but Liu Xiaoyu rolled her eyes in annoyance, "This is a regulation, and it's not just aid at you. I didn't tell you before because I was afraid of making you uncomfortable. I thought you wouldn't notice, but to my surprise, you detected it the mont you got on."
"Does headquarters think my vengeful ghosts might co back to life?"
Yang Jian's eyes narrowed slightly, "So they've taken precautionary asures in advance. If necessary, they would confine inside this car, nipping any danger in the bud, preventing the ghost whisperers' ghosts from causing paranormal incidents."
"That's about right," Liu Xiaoyu's gaze dodged slightly, seeming a bit embarrassed.
"Most ghost whisperers coming to J City have problems that need to be dealt with by Professor Wang, so it's necessary to have precautions in place. Don't be upset about it, it's for the good of the public. We can't let individual issues affect everyone's safety. And the special features of this car aren't usually detectable. In fact, without any incidents, there really isn't any need to engage the ergency asures."
"Headquarters even considered that you might notice, which is why they sent to pick you up, right? The intention is to ease your worries," she said.
Yang Jian slowly withdrew his gaze, "I see, it seems headquarters has thought things through quite carefully, even preparing ergency plans. But I don't think your presence is ant to dispel my doubts; I'd rather think you're here to employ your charms and negotiate with ."
"Don't talk nonsense," Liu Xiaoyu righteously protested against his claim.
"Nonsense?"
Yang Jian spoke slowly, "You know Zhang Wei, right?"
"Zhang Wei is your high school classmate, one of the seven survivors of the Ghost Door Knocker incident at the university, son of Zhang Xiangu..." Liu Xiaoyu spouted off effortlessly, clearly very familiar with Yang Jian's information, even that of so people around him.
"No need to recite a profile, I know you must have seen everyone's files, but you must also know that there's a computer room at my house, with one computer specifically for Zhang Wei," said Yang Jian.
Liu Xiaoyu said, "And then? That doesn't necessarily an anything."
"That computer contains a directory with a folder... you know what I an," Yang Jian said earnestly. "I'm certain you've invaded that computer before."
"No, I absolutely have not. What right do you have to tarnish my reputation? Is invading soone else's computer sothing normal people do? Don't look at ; I definitely didn't do it, I can swear to that," Liu Xiaoyu denied vehently while trying to prove her innocence.
Yang Jian gazed deeply at her, slowly saying, "Inside that folder, there's another hidden folder... it's mine. The main characters in the movies stored there all look sowhat like you, dressed similarly in dresses, with twin ponytails. The only thing I'm dissatisfied with is your chest being too small."
"So no matter how deliberately you dress up, to , you're still far from comparable."
Liu Xiaoyu's face turned red instantly; she stuttered trying to find so excuse to brush it off, but Yang Jian saw right through her every attempt, leaving her at a loss for words.
"So, in the future, don't invade my family's computers," noticing her embarrassed expression, Yang Jian continued very seriously. "Otherwise, I will be very unhappy."
He had a file stored on the computer with personal supernatural archives, luckily, it wasn't connected to the network.
Otherwise, it would've been thoroughly investigated by the head office by now.
Indeed, being computer savvy does have its benefits.
"This was for work, after all. I can't defy orders from above... And who would want to invade your family's computers, especially Zhang Wei's? If it's not gas, then it's adult movies, not a single piece of useful information. I got dark circles under my eyes trying to find sothing useful; is he a pervert? Two thousand gigs of nothing but trash," Liu Xiaoyu retorted.
"Besides, it's not just who knows about your preferences. Many people at headquarters know; Captain Zhao knows even better. You want soone cute and with a big chest; you need to wake up, this is the real world," she blurted, her face flushed as she spilled all of Yang Jian's peculiar tastes to retaliate for his unprovoked attack from before.
"So now it's okay to peek at people's privacy? And this is a normal man's hobby; what's so strange about that?" Yang Jian remained calm, unfazed.
Compared to supernatural events, this slight was trivial and had no impact on him whatsoever.
However, he was inwardly alert.
The headquarters knew the details of a ghost controller's life with such precision; it really was an all-encompassing investigation.
But then again, it made sense; in today's information age, it would be easy for the headquarters with their capabilities to investigate anyone through various channels.
"Impossible, I don't believe all n have the sa tastes as you," Liu Xiaoyu declared.
Yang Jian indicated Wan Delu standing by: "If you don't believe it, just ask him."
Wan Delu forced a smile, "Actually, I'm a bit different from Brother Tui; I like girls with long legs, and I even support three..."
"Enough," Liu Xiaoyu cut him off before he could continue.
Yang Jian said, "So, in the future, don't tamper with other people's computers, and you need to tell the information I should know in advance. Arousing my suspicions is a minor issue, but it's another story if soone with ulterior motives exploits it, stirring things up, considering I've offended quite a few people."
"I understand," Liu Xiaoyu hung her head low.
"By the way, there's sothing else I need to talk to you about," she said.
Yang Jian asked, "What is it?"
Liu Xiaoyu cast another glance at Wan Delu: "He's heard a lot of information, is that really okay?"
"It doesn't matter if it's classified, if the information gets out you can just catch him and execute him by firing squad, no objections from ," said Yang Jian nonchalantly.
"..." Wan Lude looked at Yang Jian with imnse dread.
You can't be this shaless.
What if you're the one who let out a secret? Won't that fall back on ?
"What's that got to do with ?" said Yang Jian. "I'm not the one spreading the curse intentionally, I believe I've warned Zhao Jianguo before."
"I know," Liu Xiaoyu suddenly looked up again and said. "I should thank you. If it wasn't for you, I think I would have died in the communication room."
"Did I save you?" Yang Jian said, sowhat surprised.
"You resolved the Dachang City incident, and because headquarters valued you, they provided with a separate communication room, which is how I survived that ti," Liu Xiaoyu explained.
Yang Jian said, "It was the headquarters' system that saved you, not . Don't thank too much."
After that day, I actually planned..." Liu Xiaoyu paused, looking at him with large eyes filled with complex emotions, on the verge of speaking.
Even though it was her first eting with Yang Jian, she had maintained long communication with him over the phone. She was very familiar with all aspects of his life, knowing when he slept, ate, went on missions, and what he experienced. It was this very reason that she didn't feel like a stranger to him.
It felt as if she had known him for a long ti.
Yet Yang Jian cut her off, "You don't need to tell your plans, for a person who could die at any mont doesn't need to know so much."
