The second was Chu Tian. He was the one who brought sunshine into her life when she was most confused, the one who, without hesitation, stood up for her when she was most afraid.
Now, all her thoughts were consud by the lyrics on the screen. Her eyes brimd with tears, and she couldn’t calm down for a long ti.
It wasn’t until the singing stopped that she finally ca back to her senses.
She picked up the microphone, intending to say sothing, but suddenly paused.
She didn’t know what ca to mind, but a breathtaking smile suddenly blood on her face.
"Pfft~ Why hide and sing?"
Having just finished his song, Chu Tian was also overwheld with emotion. He looked at the screen, watching Xu Qingqiu stand on the stage and gaze towards the entrance. He wanted to laugh but felt sowhat conflicted.
"I was afraid I’m too handso. If I ca out, I might upstage you, and that wouldn’t be good," Chu Tian joked.
At Chu Tian’s words, the audience below the stage was stunned for a mont. Then, bursts of laughter quickly erupted, and so bolder audience mbers started to tease him openly.
"Hahaha, that kills ! You think you’re as handso as ?"
"Pfft, shaless, who talks about themselves like that?"
"Isn’t that a bit too narcissistic?"
"This guy is quite funny, spouting nonsense as soon as he opens his mouth."
Xu Qingqiu hadn’t expected him to co up with that line, but she quickly understood what he ant. He probably still doesn’t want to show his face.
While she understood, in this situation, she inevitably felt a bit embarrassed and also sowhat disappointed.
After all, having co this far, she truly wanted to stand on the sa stage with the man she loved—that was the scene she had always dread of.
Actually, Chu Tian wasn’t reluctant to go on stage. He was also conflicted and had hesitated, but he quickly made up his mind.
She had done so much to get to this point; if he didn’t go on stage now, it would be truly unromantic of him.
His previous statent was just a joke.
He was about to go up on stage after saying that.
But before he could go on stage, Li Chunhua rushed over, flustered and holding sothing.
Since Chu Tian was holding the microphone, Li Chunhua, despite having a lot to say, found herself speechless.
She could only glare at Chu Tian with wide eyes and, in the end, couldn’t resist kicking him.
What’s wrong? Chu Tian stared at Sister Hua, utterly bewildered, his eyes filled with confusion and a hint of grievance.
Li Chunhua rolled her eyes, then took a bouquet and a small box from behind her back and handed them to him.
"Here, take these!"
Seeing Chu Tian still dazed, Li Chunhua’s eyes nearly popped out of her head as she ntally cursed the fool.
Chu Tian wasn’t stupid; he was just a little dazed. What the heck is going on? Didn’t I just sing a song? I haven’t done anything else, and suddenly there are flowers, and that small box... if I’m not mistaken, that must be a ring, right? What’s this about? A live proposal? Holy crap! For real? I’m not ready for this! It’s so sudden!
After another kick from Li Chunhua, Chu Tian hastily took the items.
On the stage, Xu Qingqiu composed herself. With a blissful expression, she said, "If you’re not coming up, that’s fine. I really liked that last song. Thank you."
She genuinely loved it. From the song, she could feel a warm sense of happiness and a gently flowing current of love.
After so many years of hard work, she was already very satisfied with this outco.
But after she finished speaking, there was no response from his end.
While she was puzzled, sudden exclamations erupted from the audience.
"Holy moly! It’s him, right?"
"It’s him, definitely him!"
"Holy crap, he’s out! Does anyone recognize him?"
Just then, a perceptive caraman quickly swung the cara to focus on Chu Tian as he walked onto the stage from the side.
"Damn, he’s handso! Almost a third as good-looking as ."
"That height, that build, that handso face! Oh my god, Mom, I’m in love!"
"Pfft, that’s President Xu’s boyfriend. What are you swooning for?"
"Oh sorry, Mom, I’m heartbroken..."
"Get lost!"
"Seriously, girls, no joke. I’m totally into his looks. He’s exactly my type! So damn handso, isn’t he?"
"You think? If he weren’t handso, could President Xu have chased him for so many years?"
"Oh yeah, fair point. Looks like President Xu and I have similar taste."
"Your taste might be similar, but you two are worlds apart. She’s got the real thing; you’re just dreaming."
"Yue, you’re really asking for it! I’ll kill you!"
While those two best friends started squabbling, people elsewhere continued their discussions, oblivious.
"So, who is he exactly? Which celebrity is he?"
Seeing so clueless people still asking this, a paparazzo who had slipped into the crowd couldn’t hold back any longer.
"He’s not a celebrity; he’s Xu Qingqiu’s assistant."
"Assistant? Are you sure he’s an assistant?"
"I don’t know. That’s what people from their company say."
"How do you know?"
"Because I asked them."
"So you’ve seen him before?"
"A few tis. Rember when Xu Qingqiu was attacked by an anti-fan? The man who rushed on stage to protect her was this guy, Chu Tian."
"Holy shit! He’s that super-handso bodyguard with the flying kick?"
"I told you, he’s an assistant, not a bodyguard."
"Fine, an assistant then. But still, isn’t he way too handso for that?"
"Oh my god! He’s handso, he can sing, he knows how to care for people, and crucially, he can protect them! That overwhelming sense of security and happiness... I can’t, I think I’m going to faint."
"Wake up, he’s taken!"
"Okay, let cry for a while..."
The bodyguard who had just been speaking stared at these female fans, completely bewildered, his mind unable to keep up with their whirlwind of thoughts.
