Chapter 1271: Chapter 556: One Blade, Two Battles!_3

I originally thought I could learn so skills by following him and make a living for my family.

I’m dying with regret!

Augustus widened his eyes and slowly sank to the seabed.

About to die.

His breath was gradually ceasing.

At last.

He saw that shark wandering at the bottom of the sea.

Shark…

Augustus suddenly regained a bit of vitality.

He used all his strength and waved his hand toward the shark.

The shark’s eyesight was poor.

It shouldn’t see his movent.

But it was after it bit that I was reborn.

Maybe—

Could I be reborn again?

Augustus exhaled his last breath, watching the shark swim rapidly towards him.

…Indeed, I am covered in blood.

It slled !

Augustus spread his arms.

Co.

Eat .

Eat !

The shark opened its giant, toothy maw, flipped its physique—

Excruciating pain hit.

Darkness.

Darkness.

Darkness.

An image suddenly flashed by.

A person.

The man wielding a long knife.

He was covered in blood, withdrawing the knife from his own arm, then slashing towards his other arm.

“Laughable… now go die…”

Augustus heard himself saying this.

But he didn’t move.

“Let’s die together.”

The man laughed again.

His knife struck his other arm.

A few bright things, like smoke and clouds, flew out from his arm, shining brilliantly in midair.

“Withering Elent!”

A female voice exclaid excitedly.

Withering Elent…

What is that?

Augustus didn’t have ti to think, only feeling a wave of intense pain engulfing him.

How—

This pain, it’s like the shark’s bite?

Augustus suddenly opened his eyes.

Tranquility.

The sea breeze swirled around his ears.

Morning light pierced through the sea of clouds, illuminating all things.

Morning.

The sea wind sobbed.

The boat swayed.

Augustus lay on the deck, staring, motionless.

Rebirth.

He had co back to life again.

Though that bizarre dream interfered, he could fully believe—

It was an illusion from when the shark bit him.

The village elders always said, at the brink of death, ghost deities co to claim lives.

Maybe that was the ghost claiming his life.

But—

He looked at his arms.

His arms were intact.

So is he different from others?

Even the ghosts couldn’t capture him!

At this ti.

A potbellied man ca out from the cabin, placing a dining pot in front of the young man.

“Eat up, fish catcher.”

It was Cheng.

Augustus glanced at him.

Cheng wore a gentle smile on his face.

But—

That smile only hung on his face surface.

He had never noticed before, but there was a terrifying malice hidden in his eyes.

“Cheng, I’ve been retrieving corpses for two days, and my legs are cramping.”

“Hmm? Is it serious?”

“A bit cramping—I probably can’t go underwater today—I can definitely do it tomorrow,” Augustus replied.

Cheng pondered: “Tomorrow… fine, it’s just a day’s work, no problem.”

He uncovered the pot.

Inside were shrimp paste and white rice.

The rice was still steaming.

Young Augustus swallowed, unable to resist saying:

“Cheng, why is today’s al so good?”

Cheng, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, glanced sideways at him:

“Hah, isn’t it because of the dead man you fished up last night? Kid, you’ve hit the jackpot this ti.”

“I don’t understand, Cheng.”

Cheng spat into the sea, then said:

“Ghost Head Bay has twenty-eight hidden reefs, countless whirlpools and undercurrents. They say even gods wouldn’t find bodies thrown here—”

“Yet you saw the bounty and fished the corpse up.”

“Today, the big boss heard about your skills and personally issued an order for you to retrieve bodies at West Tiger Reef.”

“As long as you bring them up, there will be money for you!”

The young man listened intently, seemingly sowhat excited, but quickly replied with disappointnt:

“Cheng, I can’t do it today.”

Cheng waved his hand dismissively:

“I know—West Tiger Reef is so vast; it’s not sothing you can fish up in a day or two. Take a good day’s rest; tomorrow, I want to see you diving to retrieve corpses—understood?”

“No problem! I’ll listen to you, Cheng,” Augustus quickly responded.

“Hmm,” Cheng was satisfied with his attitude, “Work with , and you’ll prosper sooner or later. I rember your family even arranged an engagent for you?”

“Yes, I am engaged, Cheng,” Augustus said.

“Being engaged is good. Follow , and you’ll surely earn big money! Guarantee you’ll marry a wife!”

Cheng patted his shoulder and turned to leave.

Augustus breathed a sigh of relief.

He had passed a hurdle.

But no matter what, he needed revenge.

This old guy and all his subordinates must die!

Augustus clutched the pot and devoured the food ravenously.

As he ate, he touched his waist.

The dagger was still there.

Eat first, kill later!
