Everyone looked at each other, confused as to why Wen Qingye had suddenly started laughing.

"Little Qi, are you all right?" Yao Clan hurried to Yao Qi’s side, asking with concern.

Yao Qi clutched his chest and said in a low voice, "My... my chest feels so tight..."

"It’s all right. Auntie has a Sixth-Grade Pill for you. Take this." Yao Clan quickly took out a pill and stuffed it into Yao Qi’s mouth.

Wen Qingye watched Yao Clan, shook his head, and chuckled. "Yao Clan, you certainly treat your own son well."

"Wen Qingye, what do you an by that?" Yao Clan’s expression changed, and she stared at Wen Qingye in anger.

Wen Qingye pointed directly at Yao Qi and sneered, "Yao Clan, he’s your son with Yao Luojun, isn’t he?"

UPROAR!

Wen Qingye’s words were like a stone thrown into a calm lake, sending a thousand ripples surging through the crowd.

Yao Luojun’s eyes narrowed slightly. He said calmly, "Wen Qingye, you’re spouting absolute nonsense."

"Spouting nonsense?" Wen Qingye shook his head and scoffed.

At that mont, Wen Xu stood up, his eyes fixed on Wen Qingye. "Make yourself clear!"

Wen Qingye gave Wen Xu a pitying look. "You should use so Blood rging Grass to see if your blood will rge with Wen Tongyu’s. I think the result will surprise you."

BOOM!

If Wen Qingye’s previous words had only caused ripples, this sentence was a tidal wave that sent everyone’s minds into chaos.

"Wen Qingye!" Yao Clan’s teeth made a grinding sound as she glared daggers at him.

Hearing Wen Qingye’s words, Yao Luojun fought through the pain in his chest and beca agitated. He grabbed Yao Clan’s hands and demanded, "Is Tongyu my son too? Is he? Answer !"

Silence.

The surrounding crowd fell completely silent, their eyes staring blankly at Yao Luojun and Yao Clan. Yao Luojun’s question had revealed everything. No further explanation was needed.

Yao Clan’s brow furrowed, her breathing becoming erratic. "I don’t know! I don’t know, don’t ask !"

"Yao Yulian!"

Wen Xu’s eyes were bloodshot. With a furious roar, he charged at Yao Clan like a madman.

"Wen Xu, what are you doing?" Yao Luojun quickly stepped in front of Yao Clan, glaring coldly at the approaching Wen Xu.

Wen Xu roared maniacally, "What do you think I’m doing? I’m going to kill you, you shaless pair!"

Suddenly, the situation escalated. The Elders of the Wen Family and the experts of the Yao Family began to face off.

At this mont, Zhang Hui, who had been waiting inside for a long ti, also walked out. Her gaze imdiately fell upon Wen Qingye, standing in the center of the crowd.

Wen Qingye stood with his hands behind his back, his eyes bright and clear. He was just as she rembered from the first ti she saw him—eternally calm and indifferent.

Zhang Hui gave a small, bitter smile, then looked around at the chaotic scene.

Just then, Wen Tongyu slowly walked out. He looked at Yao Clan and said, "I want to ask one more ti. Is what Wen Qingye said true?"

"Of course not—" Yao Clan started to argue, but when she t Wen Tongyu’s eyes, the words died in her throat, and she fell silent.

"AHAHAHAHAHA..."

Wen Tongyu threw his head back and laughed uncontrollably. "So I didn’t even know who my own father was. How pathetic. How utterly pathetic."

"Yao Clan, you bitch!" Wen Xu looked completely unhinged. If several Wen Family Elders hadn’t been holding him back, he would have already struck.

"Yao Qi, you will die today! No one can save you."

Wen Qingye stared coldly at Yao Qi and began to walk toward him, one step at a ti.

"No, don’t co any closer!" Yao Qi was already scared out of his wits by the sight of Wen Qingye.

"Wen Qingye, you can’t kill Yao Qi! You can’t kill him!" Yao Clan’s face turned deathly pale. She stood up and shielded Yao Qi with her body.

"Yao Clan, you bitch, you deserve to die too!" Wen Xu roared.

BANG!

An afterimage flashed past, followed by a spray of blood. Wen Qingye had struck Yao Qi’s skull with his palm. No one present saw how he had even moved.

The light faded from Yao Qi’s eyes, and his body slumped heavily to the ground.

By the ti everyone else reacted, Wen Qingye was already standing beside Liu Clan.

"Mother, let’s go," Wen Qingye said softly.

Liu Clan showed no hesitation. She nodded and said, "Yes, let’s go."

The mont Wen Qingye and Liu Clan turned to leave, Yao Luojun spewed a mouthful of blood. He stared at Wen Qingye’s back in disbelief before collapsing heavily.

Wen Qingye would not leave a lingering threat. Yao Qi was dead, so Yao Luojun had to die as well. Wen Qingye was not a cruel or heartless person, but neither was he rciful.

The many experts of the Yao Family watched Wen Qingye and Liu Clan depart. Forget revenge; at this mont, they were more afraid that Wen Qingye would decide to eradicate them root and stem.

"How ironic. I forced out my own flesh and blood, only to find out that the son I cherished most belongs to another man. AHAHAHA..."

Wen Xu laughed miserably, his laughter filled with desolation and anguish.

At this ti, Zhang Hua strode forward. He looked at Wen Xu, cupped his fist, and said, "Brother Wen, my Zhang Family intended to form a marriage alliance with the Wen Family, not the Yao Family. I’m afraid we must take our leave. Farewell!"

With that, Zhang Hua pulled away Zhang Hui, who was still in a daze.

Zhang Hua’s words were like a dagger twisting in Wen Xu’s heart.

Afterwards, the Liu Family, the Gao Family, and the others also took their leave one by one.

The remaining mbers of the Yao Family exchanged glances, then quickly departed with the bodies of Yao Qi and Yao Luojun. As for Yao Clan and Wen Tongyu, they naturally paid them no mind. They needed to hurry back to Kaiyang City to deal with the fallout from these sudden events.

Wen Xu stared at the shambles around him, his eyes vacant.

’I’ll never surpass Wen Qingye in this lifeti. Never.’ Wen Tongyu sighed softly, his mind drifting back to days long past.

Heaven’s favored child, a peerless genius... it all seed like a fleeting dream now.

Wen Tongyu slapped a palm against the top of his own head.

THUD!

The mbers of the Wen Family looked on in shock.

"Tongyu!" Yao Clan threw herself frantically onto Wen Tongyu’s body, tears streaming down her face. "It’s my fault. It’s all my fault! It’s all my fault!"

But Wen Tongyu’s body remained motionless.

Yao Clan’s expression froze. She said bitterly, "You’re gone... what’s the point of living? My whole life has been for you!"

PFFT!

Yao Clan’s body fell heavily on top of Wen Tongyu’s.

"Patriarch, Yao Clan has committed suicide by biting her tongue," an Elder said quietly to Wen Xu.

"Bury them. Give them both a proper burial," Wen Xu said softly, as if he had aged decades in an instant.

After speaking, Wen Xu’s figure swayed as he slowly walked toward the rear courtyard.
