Totsuki Academy

Erina had just finished her classes. Despite the sowhat plain white chef's uniform, it couldn't hide her beauty and grace. Her rejuvenated spirit shone through, and her charm was undeniable. So of the students at Totsuki Academy had even ford the "Erina Fan Club" to support her. However, Erina paid little attention to such matters. In her dormitory kitchen, she humd a little tune while preparing dinner for herself and Hisako.

Hisako Arato, who considered herself the closest person to Erina, had noticed a change in her lately. Erina's smile, once rare, had beco more frequent and genuine. Hisako had known Erina since they were young, having followed her through much of her childhood. When they first t, Erina had been willful and aloof, rarely showing any warmth. She enjoyed pointing out others' mistakes, exuding an air of superiority. But over ti, Hisako had co to see Erina's gentler side, which is why she had remained by her side for all these years.

The smiles Erina now unconsciously displayed made Hisako feel as though Erina had transford into a different person. The forr, sharp arrogance had vanished. She had matured, gaining depth and charm. "Yes! That's it. She's beco even more perfect!"

"Hisako, why are you staring at ?" Erina glanced over, a little surprised.

"Erina-sama, you've beco even more beautiful!" Hisako blurted out, realizing her mistake and quickly trying to change the subject with a smile.

"Such a sweet talker. What do you want to eat tonight?" Erina asked in a doting tone. Hisako's face flushed slightly. What's with that motherly tone?

"I want sweet and sour pork ribs with rice!" Hisako replied, enjoying the warm atmosphere.

But just as the mont seed perfect, an unexpected knock at the door interrupted the peace. Hisako, slightly annoyed, opened the door. She froze, her breath catching in her throat.

Azami Nakiri! Erina's biological father. Hisako had heard about him from Erina's grandfather, Director Senzaemon. Azami had subjected Erina to cruel training to hone her God's Tongue, causing Erina to develop a picky and critical palate. Hisako had no positive feelings toward him—only fear and worry for Erina.

"May I help you?" Hisako found the courage to ask, eting Azami's cold, emotionless gaze. His eyes were filled with contempt, as if looking down on her as a re 'commoner.'

"Is Erina here?" Azami asked casually. "It's been a long ti; I'd like to see her."

"Just say what you want." Erina walked out of the kitchen slowly. Her confident gaze t Azami's, her aura one of calm strength. Hisako felt her own tremor fade, soothed by Erina's presence.

"My esteed father, you wouldn't co all the way here just to see , would you?" Erina asked, her tone cool. A hint of sadness flickered in her heart, but her exterior remained composed.

"My little girl Erina seems to have grown a lot," Azami said, a touch of surprise in his voice. "After all, it's rare for to co to the school; I still had to see you."

"It's nothing major," Azami continued, though his words soon dropped a bombshell. "Next year, I plan to establish a new school."

"I'll be recruiting then. Aren't there many students who didn't pass the entrance exam at Totsuki Academy? I can take them in," he said nonchalantly.

"Shouldn't these people who failed the assessnt be considered useless in your eyes?" Erina asked, seeing right through her father's intentions.

"Indeed, they are useless," Azami confird, nodding. "But even useless things have their value. Those lacking talent can still learn to prepare others' dishes and create profit for . There's no need to chase the true essence of cuisine."

"Erina, I ca here to ask: would you be interested in coming to my school?" Azami proposed, but Erina was certain of her response.

"I refuse."

"As I expected," Azami said, his eyes narrowing. "But if you don't agree, others might."

"Three, four... maybe five or six of the Totsuki Elite Ten might leave and join my school. Sounds quite appealing, doesn't it?"

"However, after that, I wonder if Totsuki Academy will still have any value?" He let the words hang in the air, waiting for Erina to process the gravity of the situation. Azami smiled and clapped his hands, preparing to leave.

"I've seen what I needed to see and said what needed to be said. Let's make a simple farewell." Azami's smirk was cold and calculating.

My dear daughter, let see where the future of the God's Tongue truly lies.

With Totsuki Academy facing such a drastic threat, Erina's thoughts began to whirl. The reputation of Totsuki Academy rested on the shoulders of the Totsuki Elite Ten, many of whom were heirs to culinary empires. If her father were to take them all to his new school, the ramifications for Totsuki would be imnse. Not only would it directly threaten Totsuki's standing, but it could also tarnish her grandfather's legacy. If the next generation of Totsuki students lacked consistency, the Nakiri family's position in the Japanese culinary world would be severely weakened.

The weight of this dilemma pressed down on Erina. She briefly wondered if, despite everything, she could take charge, perhaps even challenge her father's plans. But then her mind quickly shifted to another thought: Renz.

Renz, with no culinary fa or background, was clean and untainted. She realized that if Renz were to gain fa, particularly in this turbulent ti, it could help him prove his worth to her grandfather. It was an opportunity for him to make a na for himself in the culinary world. Yet, even if her grandfather still opposed their marriage, Erina was determined to elope with Renz. Together, they would face whatever challenges ca their way.

The person I, Erina, want to marry. Who can stop ?

But then, a realization struck her. Shouldn't I be focusing on how to solve Totsuki Academy's problems? Her thoughts had drifted to her personal desires instead of the school's future.
