Professional Center.

As a roar, like one emanating from the Abyss, reverberated through the space.

In the hall, the Cultivation Masters who had been deeply engrossed in academic discussions were completely baffled.

"What's happening?"

All activity ground to a halt as everyone wanted to step outside to assess the situation, but they were stopped by the Professional Center's staff before they could leave the hall.

"Ladies and gentlen, a Summoned Beast is rampaging outside. For your safety, please do not move around at will."

"How could there be a Summoned Beast rampage in the Professional Center? Which Summoned Beast is it? What level is it?"

"Judging by the sound, it seems to be an Abyss-type Summoned Beast. The lowest level it could be is likely Leader Level, or even possibly Lord Level. Aren't such level Summoned Beasts not supposed to appear in the city?"

"What exactly is happening outside?"

...

Facing the questions from the Cultivation Masters, the staff mbers did not respond much, instructing them to wait inside the hall.

Having no alternative, Lu Wu and the others could only listen attentively, with a mingling of curiosity and tension, to the situation outside from within the hall.

The commotion outside seed to grow even larger as if a fight had erupted.

Various beast roars, battle cries, and sounds of collision could be heard. Without witnessing it firsthand, the noises alone allowed Lu Wu and the others to gauge just how massive the battle outside must be.

Li Kai's face turned particularly ashen.

As a Professional Summoner, he was privy to much more information than Lu Wu and the rest.

He was well aware that the battle taking place outside was undoubtedly of a Lord Level magnitude.

"I can't believe soone would actually dare to make a move in the Professional Center, and on top of that, at the Lord Level."

Li Kai now sowhat regretted bringing Lu Wu along, as even a slight spillover from a battle of this level could potentially end Lu Wu's life.

Fortunately, the battle didn't last long.

A few minutes later, it gradually ca to an end. As to the result, Lu Wu and his companions had no idea since they didn't venture outside.

Shortly after the battle outside concluded, the staff from the Professional Center ca over.

"We apologize, but a minor incident occurred at the Professional Center, and the original bounty mission has been canceled.

In addition, you may all have to stay within the center for a while."

Upon hearing this, the entire hall instantly erupted.

"What's the situation? How can the bounty mission just be canceled like that? What exactly happened outside?"

"Yeah, what happened outside? Is the mission cancellation related to the incident? Also, on what grounds are you restricting our freedom?"

"We've traveled all this way for the bounty, and you say it's canceled just like that? Isn't that a bit too tyrannical?"

...

The staff mbers at the Professional Center soothed the discontent among the crowd in the hall.

But despite their assurances, they still didn't explain the incident that occurred outside or the reason for restricting their movent.

How could they explain?

Could they say, "Sorry, but we had a big shot here who was overconfident in fishing, only to be slapped in the face by the fish."

Were they to admit that even though they managed to capture the misbehaving Abyss-type Summoned Beast, in the end, the beast still got away with the bait?

Such an embarrassing matter, how could the Professional Center possibly disclose it?

So they did not reveal any information to the Cultivation Masters present. However, even so, the hall quickly beca quiet again.

One reason was that the Professional Center is an official institution, holding sway over the assessnts and certifications of Cultivation Masters, as well as related knowledge.

Most of those present were amateur Cultivation Masters, whose assessnts, certifications, and acquisition of knowledge all depended on the authorities. Even the professionals were under their jurisdiction, and on their turf, they simply didn't dare to make a fuss.

Besides, the Professional Center's inventory didn't consist only of words of comfort; they also offered so benefits.

One was to ensure that during their ti at the Professional Center, they would have at least one Professional Cultivator each day to provide them with more than three hours of class.

Another was the opportunity for an assessnt once the incident was over.

If they could pass the assessnt, they would be able to obtain a professional certificate, and those with excellent performance could even have the chance to use a Professional Center Cultivation Room.

Pre-qualification for the test wasn't a big deal, but the key points were the lessons and the chance to use a Professional Center Cultivation Room.

The lessons themselves were invaluable, as having instruction from a Cultivator at the Professional Center was an exceptionally rare opportunity.

And the chance to use a Professional Center Cultivation Room was even rarer, aning one could use any of the materials and facilities inside the Cultivation Room, an opportunity that was difficult even for Professional Cultivators to secure.

With such benefits at stake, the Cultivation Masters in the hall naturally ceased their commotion.

Indeed, among those in the hall, so had their own speculations about what happened outside and why they were being kept there.

For example, Li Kai, who had initially guessed that there might be sothing fishy about this mission.

The reasons were only two.

Either the fishing had been successful, but due to the commotion, the Professional Center decided to pacify them with so benefits to keep their mouths shut and have an explanation for higher-ups.

Or the fishing had not been successful, potentially even resulting in the bait being taken, and the Professional Center suspected that the fish might still be among them, which is why they were keeping them there.

Li Kai didn't know which situation it was.

If it were the forr, there would be no danger, only benefits; if the latter, their current situation could be dangerous.

With that in mind, Li Kai beca sowhat nervous and quickly returned to Lu Wu's side.

He might have regretted bringing Lu Wu along by now, but regret was useless at this point; protecting Lu Wu was what mattered.

anwhile, Lu Wu had no idea what Li Kai was thinking and lacked any sense of danger.

That wasn't because Lu Wu was foolish but rather because he was inexperienced, and his focus differed from Li Kai's.

All his attention was concentrated on the knowledge he had just acquired.

His mind raced as he systematically organized the insights he had just gained from the other Cultivation Masters.

Using his own knowledge, he was starting a preliminary validation of these concepts.

The harvest was significant, and Lu Wu's eyes sparkled with excitent.

He couldn't help but give Li Kai a side-eye.

Go on, go on, get the conversation heated up again, don't let the exchange stop!

At Lu Wu's prompting, Li Kai, having no choice, begrudgingly went to warm up the crowd again.

However, what Lu Wu did not know was that this interaction between him and Li Kai caught the attention of the Professional Center once again.

That a Professional Summoner like Li Kai would be so deferential and obedient to a youngster like Lu Wu was not a small matter.

The Professional Center imdiately conducted a background check on Lu Wu and, upon discovering that Lu Wu's background was exceedingly ordinary, their interest in him surged dramatically.

As for Lu Wu, he was completely unaware of this, for he was imrsed in a sea of knowledge. He sensed that Little Skeleton's advancent to the Bronze Level might be hopeful in the near future!
