Being inside the tent, a feeling of being watched grew so much. That even Rex felt uneasy being there. He had to make a decision as to try to sleep or run into the marshlands first.
Rex tried to see if he could feel anything with his Soul Qi. In the horizon, he could feel a gaze sharply staring at him. There was another gaze simply ready to enjoy a al right there beside him.
Rex smiled internally and felt extrely light when he decided to kill the beast ready to make him into a al. When he noticed the creature, it looked like a fox. Rex grabbed it by the throat and squeezed too hard.
A popping sound ca from in front of him when he noticed that he had killed the creature in front of him.
"Ding"
Rex figured that this was the fox-like creature that he needed to kill anyways. He checked the notification.
"The Host has killed baby mimic in the form of the unknown fox. Notice the head is acceptable but the blood from within it is not.
Host must find where the unknown fox is and kill it."
Rex was upset about that. He was more worried about how his won would actually help him. He began to just think. He knew that they could just appear and reappear within the Eighth Realm due to the Soul Temple guardians blessing them.
What he did not want was that they ca and felt useless while he was trying to finish his Quest. He knew better than to allow them to co and feel even worst about the Quest.
"Too damn much to do." Rex spoke out loud.
He stripped the skin away from the mimic and prepared his food for the morning. As he was, he felt danger lurking in the shadows around the trees.
"Damn I cannot even get a break." Rex spoke.
From the outskirts, several beasts began to circle the outer limits. Rex was not happy with the situation but right now nothing was going to happen.
The beasts ca forward and their intent was on the at instead of Rex. This was curious to Rex. He did not know why the mimic was the target of the beasts.
The closer they got, the more focused on the mimic they got. One grabbed the skin that covered it, two began to bark in weird noises, and six were eyeing the at.
Rex tossed the at to the six. Instead of catching at the at, they forcibly caught the stick ends. The group left quickly.
The entire process took almost an hour due to the creatures. Rex was upset that the night had been going on and he still barely had any at. He did not care and went to sleep.
The morning ca quickly. When woke up, and exited the tent. Those sa creatures had brought several birds to Rex. They stood guard around him.
"Thank you all."
Rex began to strip the birds and cook them. A roar that sounded like a female screaming in terror and a child crying echoed in the distance.
The beasts growled angrily. They were not allowing the creature to co any closer. Rex stood up and stared in the distance. A large creature was smashing through the marshlands.
The creature glared in Rex’s direction but made no moves towards him. It continued straight until it collapsed.
Rex and the beasts rushed towards the creature. Rex noticed that the beasts were almost running on the water. He could because of his Water Qi. He had no idea how these beasts could.
As he approached, he saw the unknown fox. The glare of superiority was in its eyes. It darted to the beasts who accompanied Rex. Rex grabbed the fox by the throat and slamd it across the trees. Trees fell and roars of agony ca from the fox.
The beasts continued to the other beast. Sothing told Rex that either the beasts would help him or beco good friends during this trip.
As Rex was swinging the unknown fox. He slamd it into the water. He froze as the fox bounced from the top of the water. To the fox, it got slamd into a concrete floor. That shattered the spine of the fox.
Within minutes, Rex had the head of the unknown fox. The beasts that were helping Rex brought the leg of the fallen. Rex got its blood and the head of the unknown fox within minutes of each other on the first morning.
The gaze seed amused watching Rex. Rex knew that whoever was within the seal was keeping close tabs on him.
