"Soone wished for a dog?" Rex made sure he heard correctly.
"That is correct." The Dark Abyss answered.
Rex sat down and began to think why a dog had been wished for. There was nothing that could co into mind.
"Why wish for a dog?" Rex asked.
"Good question. Let give you the reason for the wish."
In another world, there exists only two creatures Dragons and Cats. The dragons terrorize the villages for beautiful virgin won to snack on.
The cats prey on towns and larger civilizations. When they find juicy at, they stalk it until it is alone. The cats climb buildings and whatever else they can to enjoy their al.
Eventually, the only civilization left was a small baron and his town. They fought day and night to protect themselves from cats and dragons found another source of entertainnt for the ti being.
After not being able to rest properly for years. The soldiers were slowly giving out. The cats saw this weakness and silently began to prey on the soldiers.
A Spirit Totel appeared before a young maiden. She wanted sothing to help protect her town and civilization.
When she picked up the Spirit Totel, she slowly began to think of a creature to protect her town with.
Several different creatures ca into mind. There was a single one that looked better than most. It was built different than most creatures she had read about.
It still had the four legs and could swim on water if needed to. The biggest advantage was that the beast would protect whoever it was inclined to.
The maiden's wish ca true. There the tide shifted against the cats. The dogs could sniff out the cats and kill them. The biggest advantage the cats had was the climbing ability.
Even that wad not enough to completely stop the dogs from killing the cats. Soon enough, the cats had enough of the crap.
They went to the dragons. Upon bowing their heads and offering the young to their bellies. Hearing the yells of their children upon being eaten. The dragons allowed the cats to have a singular wish granted.
The cats wish was for the new creatures that the surrounded the a town only be able to affect the fairies.
The dragons were not able to complete the wish. The two had a standing of not affecting each other. When asked for another wish because that one could not be granted. War broke out between the cats and dragons.
The cats lost severely. A single night and nearly the entire race of cats were killed. The dogs still had no obligation to help because their masters were in the town safely.
A few fairies took it upon themselves to visit the town. With the standing between the fairies and dragons, a new three way contract ca into place.
If a maiden was beautiful enough, the fairies would guide her to a beautiful realm. If the maiden was not, the dragons would take her. If more than three wins went to one side, the other would be granted a win and a woman whose beautiful could win a contract was taken to the other side.
As such, it stayed pretty close throughout the years. Thankfully, the dogs were mainly for the soldier families. There were two families that got to have a dog.
The first was the baron's family and the second was a rchant's family. Nearly twenty years later after the signing of the contract.
The first ti that the two major families had to offer their families ca up. This was to help protect not only the general public but also make sure that at least two girls and two boys were from each family.
This ti, it was the baron's family whose now youngest daughter was offered up. The one who wished for the dogs had grown too old for the dragons taste.
As for the other daughter, she was still close enough and could age slightly before being devoured.
The Spirit Totel had actually entered the rchant's hands a day before the baron's family offered their first child.
The rchant wanted to wait and see what would happen. If the daughter of the baron would go to the fairies. His chances of his daughter going next year was also pretty high.
When the baron's daughter went to the fairies. She was guided safely into another Realm.
The rchant smiled from ear to ear. He knew his daughter was just has pretty. The two began to figure out what would happen on the other side.
A little fairy left the rchant's house. When the fairy reported what had transpired. The fairies decided to ask the dragons for advice.
With a contract in place and this being just a friendly visit. The fairies 'accidently' spoke about the rchant's plans.
The dragons advised for a new way to check on people. As such, the two groups built a device to check the Souls of the individual who was tasked with being offered.
A year passed and the rchant was happy to offer his daughter. He had thought of so many ways to thankful for this day.
A lonely man and a sickly daughter were trying to get so help. The daughter of the rchant kicked them to the side.
She continued forward. This not only caught the attention of the dragons, and the fairies, but nearly the entire town spoke evil of the rchant's family.
The rchant had left the Spirit Totel in his private office with his dog. The dog sensing sothing amiss watched from the the window.
The fairies brought the device into the town. The townsfolk were happy to see the device but afraid of the consequences of using it.
"When the maiden enters the device. This will check the Soul of the maiden. If the Soul is pure, the maiden will co with the fairies. If the Soul is tainted, it is offered to the dragons for eating. This is to ensure that we do not have another case where a maiden is picked up by us and has an evil heart and Soul." A fairy announced.
This shocked the townsfolk. A maiden should not have an evil heart or Soul. While this was going on, one of the guards entered the office of the rchant.
Grabbing the Spirit Totel, he handed it directly to the baron. He handed off for safe keeping.
The rchant felt his entire heart break. Seeing that his daughter would be offered to the dragons. He needed it to be changed.
He dashed for the office in hopes of killing off the fairies. When he entered, the Spirit Totel was missing. The guard was stripped naked and beaten until he told who he handed the Spirit Totel to. Finally on the guards last breath he told the rchant he handed it to the dragons.
The rchant went to see if that was not only the case but see if his guard could have used that as a bargaining chip.
