One of the vipers looked hesitant.

"What’s wrong?" Vincent asked, frowning, his sharp eyes narrowing in concern.

The first viper remained silent, shifting uncomfortably. Finally, the second viper let out a low hiss and said, "Nerissa... your mother... she’s here too. She’s claiming you’re her son. If we don’t let her stay, she’s threatened to take Toma. We had no choice but to offer her a house." The snake’s voice trembled slightly, its tension clear.

Vincent froze at the ntion of his mother’s na. His expression shifted, turning cold as ice, a familiar chill spreading through him.

"Vince..." Kyra gently touched his arm, her fingers light against his tense muscles. She knew a little about his mother, how she had abandoned him when he was just a child, leaving deep scars behind.

"You all go ho and rest," Vincent said suddenly, his voice tight, dismissive. But Kyra’s touch lingered, and he paused. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a mont before turning to face her.

"Trust , Rainbow," he said softly, his tone calr but still weighed down by sothing darker. "I don’t want her eting you. She’s... toxic. A poisonous female. I can’t handle the pressure of her being near you. Not now, okay?" He held her face gently in his hands, leaning down to kiss her forehead.

Kyra nodded silently, understanding the storm behind his words.

"I’m coming with you," Lucas said, his voice firm, stepping closer.

"I’ll go too," Damon added, his gaze strong, protective as ever. Vincent nodded, his expression still stiff and cold.

Kyra guided Oceanus and Silas toward their ho, her steps light and confident. The two n looked around, visibly impressed by the tribe she had built. They couldn’t help but admire the place, knowing it was all Kyra’s vision that had brought it to life.

As they walked, Oceanus and Silas exchanged a glance, their admiration for Kyra growing.

Kyra finally stopped in front of her large, welcoming ho and turned to them with a warm smile. "Welco to our ho," she said gently, her voice filled with pride. "I didn’t know back then that I’d have three more mates in the future, but I’m glad I built a big house." She chuckled softly before gesturing to the nearby dos. "The first do is already occupied, but we have the second, third, and fourth dos available. You can choose any room you’d like."

Oceanus stepped a bit closer, leaning toward her, his gaze playful. "Which one is closest to yours?" he asked, his voice low, and Silas gave her a smile that made Kyra’s cheeks flush.

She blushed under their combined attention, a soft warmth creeping up her neck. "The rooms closest to mine are already taken by Lucas, Vince, and Toma..." she muttered, her eyes flicking toward the door, which appeared to be slightly ajar. She quickly rang the bell.

The door opened, and David stood there, his expression relieved as he saw her. "How are you, child?" he asked, ushering them inside with a fatherly smile. His gaze then fell on Oceanus and Silas, a hint of confusion crossing his face.

"Where are Lucas and Vincent?" he asked, his brows furrowing.

"They went to Nerissa’s house with Vincent," Kyra muttered, watching as his eyes widened in surprise. He nodded slowly, understanding the gravity of the situation.

"And where is everyone else?" Kyra asked, glancing around.

"I’m the only one here," David replied. "Gina and the others returned to the Wolf tribe. Willson and I stayed behind to guard the place. Most of the snakes have gone into hibernation, but we haven’t had any issues. The fence and security are holding up well. Toma’s with Kyle—they went into hibernation together."

Kyra sighed with relief. "Thank you, Uncle," she said sincerely.

David waved her thanks away with a chuckle. "No need to thank , child. You’re like family to ." He rubbed her head affectionately before turning his attention to Oceanus and Silas. His eyes glead with curiosity. "Are these your new mates?"

Kyra’s cheeks flushed once more, and she nodded shyly. "Yes, this is Oceanus, and this is Silas," she said, introducing them with a small smile.

David studied them for a mont, then nodded approvingly. "Well, welco to the family. Kyra’s made a fine choice," he said, his tone warm and inviting.

At the sa ti, Vincent asked the viper snake where his mother was staying. The viper snake nervously bit his lips before answering, "She’s in the area we made for females." Without waiting for more, Vincent headed toward Nerissa’s house, followed by Damon and Lucas.

As he approached, halfway through His sharp eyes imdiately caught sight of her—Nerissa, sitting proudly on the back of a massive anaconda, her body draped with arrogance. She moved slowly in his direction.

Her green eyes glead, and her long black hair cascaded down her back, though her once-beautiful features were now marked with age and cruelty. Her thin brows gave her a harsh, vicious expression, and her pale, wrinkled skin did little to soften her appearance. The sight of her, sitting so confidently, made his stomach turn.

As her gaze landed on him, her lips curled into a smile that dripped with mockery. "My dear son..." she cooed, her voice saccharine, though Vincent could hear the venom in her tone. She looked at him with a chilling smile, her green eyes flashing with twisted amusent.

Behind her, five n stood—her latest mates, no doubt. Vincent didn’t even blink at the sight. He knew Nerissa too well. She had a talent for using and discarding people once they had served their purpose. Her pattern was clear—she moved on quickly, leaving broken hearts and lives behind, her history littered with the male she had carelessly abandoned.

He clenched his fists. His mind drifted back to his own father. Vincent had never been sure who he was. His mother had always been surrounded by n, discarding them like toys when they no longer amused her. The thought of her cruelty sent a chill through him.

Nerissa raised a brow, as if reading his thoughts. "You look upset, my son. You should be happy I’m here," she purred, but Vincent’s icy glare told her he wasn’t here for pleasantries.
