Damon stared at him in shock for a mont, his expression caught between surprise and delight. Then a smile broke across his sharp features, softening his usual intense deanor. "What a brave little eagle you are," he said, gently tousling eko’s hair.
eko bead, clearly proud of himself. "Damon, you saved pretty sister and ! You’re the best!"
Kyra watched the exchange with a warm smile, her heart swelling at the bond forming between the two. "And you’re my little hero too, eko," she said, crouching down to ruffle his hair.
Just then, Lucas joined them, plopping down on the sofa beside eko. "What’s all this hero talk? I want to be a hero too!" he said, puffing out his chest dramatically.
"Okay, everyone can be a hero!" eko said, looking back and forth between the two of them with enthusiasm. "We can have a hero team!"
"Count in!" Lucas laughed, throwing an arm around eko’s shoulder. "What’s our first mission, Little Angel?"
"Finding treasure!" eko declared, eyes sparkling with excitent. "And making sure everyone has fun!"
"Then let’s get to it!" Lucas replied, jumping up and pumping his fist in the air.
Alessandro chuckled, shaking his head in amusent as he watched the two males rally together, his sharp expression softening."Looks like we’ve got ourselves a proper adventure crew. Just rember, heroes need to eat first."
"Dinner!" eko exclaid, his eyes widening. "I’m hungry! Can we eat and then go on our adventure?"
"Of course! Let’s head to the kitchen," Lara said, leading the way, a smile plastered on her face.
As they made their way to the dining area, laughter and chatter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of warmth and happiness. Kyra felt grateful for monts like this, surrounded by people who loved her and supported her.
"Will he co?" Lara whispered softly into Alessandro’s ear, her voice tinged with worry.
Alessandro turned to look at her, placing his rough, weathered hand gently on her face. Lara leaned into his touch, seeking comfort. "Not sure, love. I hope he cos," Alessandro replied, his voice calm but laced with uncertainty.
Her other mate approached from behind and kissed her cheek softly. "Your brother will co, trust . This ti, he’s facing your mother—my great mother-in-law, who can convince anyone without lifting a finger," he said with a laugh.
Lara couldn’t help but laugh as well, holding onto both of their arms for reassurance, but deep down, she was still worried about Silas.
---
"Where have you been, Silas?" Jessie’s voice cut through the air sharply, her frustration clear as she tried to get her son’s attention. Silas barely glanced at her, his expression stoic and unreadable.
"I called you! Don’t ignore , talk to ," Jessie’s voice rose in intensity.
Silas sighed heavily, turning to face her, his movents slow and deliberate. His sun-kissed bronze skin seed to glow under the light, accentuating the sharp lines of his features. High, defined cheekbones frad his face, his perfectly straight nose giving him a regal air. His dark brows cast shadows over his deep-set golden eyes, which glead with an intensity that was both captivating and intimidating. His lips, full and curved slightly at the corners, hinted at a sense of mystery and danger, making it impossible to read what lay behind them.
"What is it?" Silas asked, his voice dripping with annoyance, those smoldering eyes locked onto his mother with a glare that could lt steel. His thick chocolate-brown hair was tousled, and his broad fra was draped in brown fur clothes, giving him a wild, untad look. His arms were muscular and strong, the intricate patterns on his hands—like tattoos—stretching up his forearms, marking him with a fierce beauty.
Jessie took a step closer, undeterred by his coldness. "Silas! I’ve found a beautiful female for you, and you’re eting her," she said firmly, her voice leaving no room for negotiation.
"Not interested," Silas replied, his golden eyes burning into hers, daring her to press the matter further. His voice was low and dangerous, like a warning growl.
Jessie could feel the tension rolling off him in waves, but she was his mother—she knew how to stand her ground. "This isn’t up for discussion," she said softly, but there was steel in her tone.
Silas’s jaw clenched as he ran a hand through his thick hair, visibly annoyed. His mind was elsewhere, and the last thing he wanted was to entertain the idea of a mate, especially one arranged by his mother.
But Jessie knew her son well. He could be stubborn and untamable, but deep down, she sensed his loneliness. If only he’d give soone a chance.
"I’m doing this because I care about you, Silas," Jessie said, her voice softening.
Silas remained silent, his dark eyes unreadable as thoughts of a certain red-haired female danced in his mind, teasing him endlessly. How could he et another woman when that fiery beauty already had him wrapped around her finger, even when she wasn’t around?
Just as he was lost in his thoughts, Jessie suddenly began to cough violently, startling Silas. Without thinking, he rushed to her side, his strong hands steadying her, but she pushed him away with unexpected force.
"You never listen to !" Jessie gasped, her voice shaky but filled with frustration. "Do you know how worried I’ve been, seeing you like this—so alone? All your brothers are settled except Joy, and he’s gone now... But you... you!" Her voice broke as tears spilled from her eyes, her emotional outburst startling her mates, who quickly ca to her side, holding her gently.
Silas’s heart clenched seeing his mother cry, the pain in her eyes pulling at him in ways he tried to suppress. He let out a long, exasperated sigh. "I’ll go, okay? I’ll et her."
Jessie wiped her tears, her hopeful gaze lifting toward him. "Really?" she asked, her voice trembling with relief.
"Of course," Silas responded, though his tone was calm. He gave a short nod before heading outside, his expression turned Stern once again, masking the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside him.
As the door closed behind him, Silas looked up at the sky, his mind imdiately drifting back to the one who haunted his thoughts. No other woman could compare, but he would et this girl for his mother’s sake, even though his heart belonged elsewhere—sowhere distant, with a red-haired enchantress who had already claid him.
