The more she focused, the stronger the flow of energy beca. The small wound on her finger began to close, the skin knitting itself back together as if by magic.
But Kyra could also feel the toll it took on her. It was like pouring out a part of her soul, and she knew that if she wasn’t careful, she could easily drain herself completely.
And as she concentrated, she felt a warm, tingling sensation in her hand. When she opened her eyes, the small wound on her finger was gone, healed completely.
She exhaled a long breath of exhaustion.
"I did it," she whispered, a smile spreading across her face.
’You did great! Kyra, and look—baby Luca was staring at you with wide eyes, hehehe,’ her beast said, laughing in her mind.
Kyra looked up and saw Lucas indeed staring at her, his eyes wide in amazent. Seeing her look at him, he quickly tried to play it cool.
"I figured out how to use my healing ability," Kyra said, smiling at him.
"Oh my goodness! You’re always amazing," Lucas said, throwing her an admiring gaze.
But there was sothing in his tone that made her pause.
She saw the way his eyes softened, how his smile didn’t quite reach them. Kyra knew Lucas well enough to sense when sothing was bothering him. His usual cheerful energy was tinged with unease, and it wasn’t hard to guess why.
He tried to hide it, but Kyra could see through him. She stood up and walked closer to him. "Luca," she said gently, reaching out to take his hand. "What’s wrong? You seem... worried."
Lucas hesitated, his eyes flickering down to their joined hands. He took a deep breath before eting her gaze again. "It’s just... your powers, Ky-ky. They’re incredible, but I’m scared they might put you in danger. I don’t want anything to happen to you. I know how powerful you are, but..." He trailed off, his voice shaky, unable to finish the sentence.
Kyra squeezed Lucas’s hand gently, her touch full of warmth and reassurance. "I understand, Luca. And I’ll be careful, I promise," she said, her voice calm but firm.
Lucas knew she was right. She was strong and capable, but that didn’t stop his protective instincts from kicking in. The thought of her facing more dangers made his heart ache, but he knew he had to trust her.
"So, what are we going to do with our free ti?" Lucas asked, trying to shift the mood as he played with a strand of her hair, twirling it around his finger.
Kyra’s eyes lit up with excitent. "Should we go outside and make snowballs and build a snowman?" she suggested, her voice bubbling with childlike enthusiasm.
"Let’s goooooo!" Lucas cheered, raising his hands in the air, already feeling a burst of energy at the idea.
Kyra chuckled, pulling him back to reality. "Not like that. Let’s grab so gloves from my space capsule first."
"Owkie..." Lucas laughed, his excitent not dimd one bit. "Speaking of space capsules, I need to stock yours with more food," he added, his tone more serious now.
Kyra nodded in agreent. "Yeah... who knows when we might need it." She rembered all too well the tis she had found herself in tough situations without anything to eat. The mory was enough to remind her of the importance of being prepared, especially with everything that was happening around them.
Kyra quickly took out her space capsule and grabbed the gloves for both herself and Lucas. She took a deep breath, trying to shake off Damon’s thoughts.
’You like him, Kyra. I can feel it. Don’t be confused,’ her beast muttered. ’And no way baby Luca, who is Rank 5, can beat a dragon who is more powerful than him...’
Kyra’s hands started shaking. She knew her beast was right, but she needed more ti to process everything.
’Take your ti as much as you need. You know Damon is determined to beco your mate, and he’s quite determined,’ Kaia said with a chuckle. ’And that was pretty sexy.’
’You’re a liar. You said after the mory rge I’d beco bolder, but I feel like I’m still the sa Kyra,’ she replied in her head, changing topic as she turned off the capsule.
Her beast chuckled. ’You never know... never mind.’
’What do you an?’ Kyra asked in her head, confused.
’You can call Kaia,’ her beast suddenly said. ’My na was also Kyra in my past life, but anyway... you need a na to call . Using ’Kyra’ for both of us sounds awkward, so I gave myself a similar na.’
’Thanks, Kaia, but what do you an?’ Kyra asked. ’What was that earlier you were talking about?’ She found it oddly comforting to use the na.
But no matter how many tis she called, her beast didn’t respond, leaving Kyra puzzled as she walked outside with Lucas.
She looked up at the sky; the winter afternoon was beautiful.
The sun casting a gentle, golden hue over the snow-covered landscape.
The sky was a brilliant, cloudless blue, and the air was filled with the refreshing chill of the season. Snowflakes glistened like tiny diamonds on the ground, creating a blanket of white that sparkled in the sunlight.
The crisp air and the soft, golden sunlight made everything seem serene. She couldn’t help but miss Vincent, wondering what he might be doing.
He was likely asleep; his hibernation had already been delayed because of her. She hoped he would wake up fit and well.
Kyra was considering starting her journey once Vincent ca back from hibernation.
anwhile, she still had much to learn about her abilities and how to control them. Her beast, Kaia, was adept at using them, but Kyra knew she had to master them herself.
Turning her attention back to Lucas, she saw him eagerly pulling her towards a large pile of snow gathered under a tree.
The tree’s branches, heavy with snow, ford a natural canopy.
"Let’s make a snowman," Kyra said with a smile, sitting down in the soft, powdery snow. Lucas sat next to her, and together they began to build a small snowman.
Kyra and Lucas worked together, rolling large snowballs to create the body of their snowman
