Today, the area outside the Thunder Sect was abuzz with activity, for a significant reason: Lord Lei was returning. He was the Sect Leader of the Thunder Sect, once renowned as one of the top ten masters in Jingnan Prefecture. Although he hadn't made a move in ten years, many believed his Realm had only grown stronger with ti.

The mbers of the Cao Family knelt on both sides of the main road. Cao Kun's ice coffin was placed there, and everyone was dressed in mourning clothes.

As a motorcade approached, the Cao Family began to wail.

"Lord Lei! You must seek justice for us! My husband, Cao Kun, was murdered! My son, Cao Xingjian, was so gravely injured that he's now in a vegetative state! And my other son, Cao Xingyun, died a tragic death—his body was never even found! We have been wronged! We are in agony! My husband was one of your Six Generals! My son, Cao Xingjian, was your very own final disciple! Please, take action and slay that scoundrel. Avenge my Cao Family. We are willing to give you everything we have!"

The one leading the cries was none other than Cao Kun's wife, and many in the surrounding crowd were shocked speechless by her words. The mighty Cao Family! While not belonging to the Four Sects and Six Families, they were on the cusp. Yet soone had dared to kill Cao Kun, cripple Cao Xingjian, and drive the matriarch of the family to such desperation that she would offer all their wealth for revenge.

The motorcade ca to a stop, and the door of a stretch limousine in the middle opened. Four of the Six Generals descended: the Poison General, Demon General, Power General, and Wind General.

The crowd grew excited. It was a rare sight to see so many of the Thunder Sect's Six Generals gathered. Today, with the exception of the murdered Cao Kun, all five remaining generals were present. The Fire General was already standing and waiting as the other four alighted from the car. Everyone's breathing grew tense and rapid. Could it be that Lord Lei himself was about to appear?

However, the next person to exit the car was not Lord Lei. This man was no less extraordinary, though—he was Lord Lei's son, Cao Geng, also known as the Young Thunder Lord.

Cao Geng walked forward and helped Cao Kun's wife to her feet. "Sister-in-law, Cao Kun's affairs are the Thunder Sect's affairs. How could we possibly disregard them? My father has already decided to handle this personally. You can rest assured. We will use that dog-thief's head to appease Cao Kun's spirit!"

A wave of excitent swept through the crowd. It seed the rumors were true; the Fire General hadn't been lying. Lord Lei was truly going to take action! In the eyes of the Cao Family, Lord Lei was a god, a figure like the Buddha himself. As long as he was willing, there was nothing in Jingnan Prefecture he couldn't accomplish.

Finally, a mont later, Lord Lei himself stepped out of the car. His real na was Cao Shaqing.

From the mont he erged, he showed no signs of being a powerful warrior. He looked like nothing more than a kindly old man, dressed in a gray cloth robe like a relic from a bygone era. But who could imagine that this man, Cao Shaqing, was a devil who killed without blinking? Of course, those who knew him well understood his true nature—people like his son, Cao Geng, and his Six Generals, who were also his six adopted sons.

Sadly, with Cao Kun's death, he was now one adopted son short. Cao Shaqing was fond of the number six, as it symbolized smooth progress, and having one missing greatly displeased him.

"Foster Father, you're back!" The Fire General ca forward, bowing deeply.

The Fire General was the eldest of the Six Generals. He was powerfully built and favored red clothes that emanated a scorching Powerful Energy. Anyone who got close to him felt as if they might be lted by his presence.

"Eldest Brother!" the Poison General and the others said, bowing in deep reverence.

The Poison General was a woman dressed in the style of the Miao Border. She was strikingly beautiful, but also terrifying. It was said she was skilled in the use of Gu poisons and was incredibly ruthless. The Demon General, clad in black with long hair, radiated a terrifying murderous intent; he practiced heretical Cultivation Techniques and was known as the most ferocious among them. The Power General was a mountain of a man, standing nearly three ters tall; built like a strongman, he possessed natural Divine Power and practiced Cross Training. The Wind General was short and thin, giving him a fragile appearance, but his legs were incredibly thick, and it was rumored his Qinggong was second to none.

Among the five, the Fire General was the eldest, but the most formidable was the Demon General. The Cao Family's Barbaric Beast, for example, was terrifying, yet it would be utterly useless against the Demon General. In reality, Cao Kun had ranked at the very bottom of the Six Generals. He had only been granted the position because he shared the Cao surna and was a relative of Cao Shaqing.

Yang Qi had managed to kill Cao Kun, but against these five, he would not necessarily win. Of course, that was rely the opinion of the Thunder Sect mbers, who were unaware that Yang Qi had already slaughtered Jiang Tianfu. While these five were indeed stronger than Jiang Tianfu, it was not by a large margin. All of them were Seventh Rank Great Grandmasters. To put that in perspective, Jiang Tianfu had been the vice president of the Jingnan Prefecture Martial Arts Association, so the fact that these five were even stronger than him was a testant to their power.

"Greetings, Lord Lei!"

As soon as Cao Shaqing stepped out of the car, countless people knelt to welco him. The scene was utterly stunning. In this world, even if you were wealthy enough to rival nations or wielded power that reached the heavens, nothing compared to the single word: "martial." When one's martial might reached a certain level, they could transcend worldly concerns. They could turn the fabulously wealthy into beggars overnight or reduce the suprely powerful to re corpses. This was the oppressive aura that true experts projected.

It was precisely because they possessed such experts that the Four Sects and Six Families could stand firm as the most terrifying powers in Jingnan Prefecture. Lord Lei was one of the most distinguished figures among them.

Cao Kun's wife knelt once more. "Please, Lord Lei, you must get justice for us! Avenge my husband!"

Lord Lei waved his hand, and a terrifying force lifted Cao Kun's wife from the ground. Then, he looked toward the Fire General and asked, "Who is this Yang Qi? And what is the deal with this Qifei Group?"

"Reporting to Foster Father," the Fire General replied, "both Yang Qi and the Qifei Group have risen to prominence abruptly in the last few months. The Qifei Group is now the top pharmaceutical group in Kang City. Rumor has it they are the ones who defeated the Kang City Business Alliance and the city's wealthiest man. As for Yang Qi, he is only twenty-five, but his martial power is astonishing. It's said Cao Kun was slain by his hand. However, Yang Qi seems to have the backing of the Lei Mansion, which complicates matters."

"What nonsense is that? Are you saying we should be afraid of the Lei Mansion?" Cao Geng interjected before Lord Lei could speak. "The Lei Mansion has shallow roots; they're a new family. Our Thunder Sect, on the other hand, has existed since the ti of the Republic—we have a history of over a hundred years. Why would we fear them?"

"Young Thunder Lord," the Fire General countered, "even if we don't fear the Lei Mansion, the true owner of the Qifei Group remains a mystery. To this day, no one knows who he or she is. So even speculate that the Qifei Group was founded by the Lin Family of Jingzhou, as it was established shortly after Lin Qingxuan arrived in Kang City. But we can't find any concrete information. We must be cautious."

"Mm, the Fire General speaks wisely," Lord Lei nodded. "Even our Thunder Sect cannot afford to be careless. A single misstep could lead to our complete annihilation. However, regardless of who is behind this, they dared to kill my adopted son and eliminate my disciple. I cannot let that slide. Fire General, Geng'er, both of you are to investigate. Find out everything you can about the forces behind Yang Qi and the Qifei Group."
