Although the Chen Family Head was furious, there was nothing he could do. After all, Yang Qi had rely taken a single breath; he hadn't done anything else. To press the issue would be to make an unreasonable fuss, so he had no choice but to let it go. At today's treasure competition, he was now rely a spectator. At most, he could look at what Treasures were available for purchase.
At this mont, all eyes were focused on Yang Qi. With his discerning gaze, he had seen through the true nature of the Pill Furnace in a single glance.
It seems ability truly can't be judged by age. The other Masters were all deceived.
"Now, it's my turn!"
Another man stood up. He was from a city neighboring Kang City and had a scar on his face, which made him look rather fierce. He waved his hand, and soone imdiately brought an item to the central display stand.
Yang Qi gave it a cursory glance before closing his eyes again.
This item doesn't need my judgnt; the other Appraisers can figure it out. It's an antique, I suppose, but it definitely doesn't qualify as a Treasure.
Afterward, people continued to present their items. The Qi Family's contribution was quite impressive: a string of Heavenly Pearls. The pearls even contained a trace of energy.
To Yang Qi, this was the first item that truly qualified as a Treasure. It was the best one presented so far. Therefore, he gave it a high evaluation.
"If no one can produce a better Treasure, it seems the Qi Family will win today's competition," Yang Qi stated calmly.
The other Treasure Appraisers shared his sentint.
"Hmph, that's not necessarily true!" soone in the crowd snorted.
The speaker was a man with an unfamiliar face. He was accompanied by a middle-aged Daoist in a priest's robe and a dozen or so of his n.
"Yuan Cheng! It's really you!" Zhao Xiong frowned. "Weren't you overseas studying martial arts? When did you get back?"
"What, I can't be here?" Yuan Cheng sneered. "The treasure competition is open to everyone. Besides, I am originally from Jingnan Prefecture."
"Hmph," Zhao Xiong snorted coldly. "In the past, you murdered innocent people. Now that you've returned, have you given any thought to how you plan on leaving?"
"That's none of your concern," Yuan Cheng waved his hand dismissively. "Present the Treasure!"
The middle-aged Daoist beside him imdiately walked up to the display stand and opened the box he was holding.
In that instant, Yang Qi shot to his feet, his eyes wide. A mont later, however, he sighed.
It was indeed a Magic Artifact—a dagger with an Array inscribed on it. Unfortunately, the Array was incomplete, and the Magic Artifact had long lost its original power. Although others couldn't tell, Yang Qi could see it clearly. The dagger was covered with faint, web-like cracks. It was on the verge of disintegrating. The Array itself was sowhat interesting, but regrettably, it was crude and unsightly. Compared to the Arrays recorded in the Dragon God Technique, the difference was like that between a candle fla and the blazing sun. The disparity was imnse.
Yang Qi felt a pang of regret. If this were a genuine Magic Artifact, I would've bought it to play with. But alas, it's just a shoddy imitation.
To everyone else, however, the dagger looked extraordinary, and their eyes shone with greed. Several of the Treasure Appraisers were visibly excited.
"This is a fantastic item!" soone exclaid.
"Heh, of course," Yuan Cheng said with imnse pride. "This is a supre Treasure I brought back from overseas. It's naturally incomparable to your crude trinkets!"
"This might even be superior to the Qi Family's Treasure!"
"Indeed! To think we'd see such a Treasure right after that string of Heavenly Pearls. This has been a truly eye-opening experience!"
The crowd buzzed with envious discussion. For a martial artist, obtaining a real Magic Artifact was like adding wings to a tiger. Even for an ordinary person, it would bring imnse benefits.
"Mr. Yang, won't you share your opinion?"
All eyes turned to Yang Qi. His previous judgnts had been spot-on, earning him a asure of respect from the other Treasure Appraisers.
Yang Qi glanced at Yuan Cheng and smiled faintly. "Your item isn't even as good as the Qi Family's string of Heavenly Pearls."
"You're spouting nonsense!" Yuan Cheng raged, as the others gasped in shock.
"Heh, so I'm not allowed to speak now?" Yang Qi replied with a light smile. "If you're going to enter a treasure competition, you have to listen to the appraisals. Otherwise, a fool like you could get swindled and not even know it."
"Boss, I'll kill that guy!" one of Yuan Cheng's n growled, unable to listen any longer. This was a complete slap in the face to their boss.
"Wait!" Yuan Cheng waved his hand, silencing him. He fixed his gaze on Yang Qi. "Let him speak. I want to see what he has to say. Kid, if you can't back up your words with so rhy or reason today, don't bla
for getting rough! Years ago, I killed a man from the Heavenly Supervision Hall and still walked away free. Killing you would be nothing!"
Yang Qi scoffed. This Yuan Cheng might be formidable, but he's only on the sa level as Liang Jin and Pan Hua. I have nothing to fear.
He walked over to the dagger and spoke calmly, "This item is an imitation Magic Artifact. It has six types of Spell Seals that form a small Array. This enhances its attack power and durability while also making it lighter to wield. Unfortunately, it is rely a fake, not a true Magic Artifact. It has seen extensive use. While it may look fine on the surface, its interior is riddled with spiderweb-like cracks. At most, it can withstand two or three more uses before it inevitably shatters. I said it was no good. I wasn't wrong, was I?"
"And what makes you so certain?" Yuan Cheng asked icily.
"Heh. If you're so confident, do you dare let
touch it?" Yang Qi countered. "Just a light touch. If it shatters, it proves I'm right. Do you dare?"
Yuan Cheng's expression turned ugly. He was now in an awkward position, forced to either admit his Treasure was defective or let Yang Qi touch it.
"Yuan Cheng, if you don't have the guts, then take your thing and get off the stage! Stop embarrassing yourself!" Zhao Xiong taunted.
"Hmph! Fine, I'll let you touch it," Yuan Cheng huffed. "I refuse to believe you can actually break it!"
Yang Qi smiled and extended a finger. The motion seed light, but he had focused Spiritual Power at his fingertip, applying a force equivalent to the dagger being used two or three more tis.
The next mont, there was a sharp CRACK! The entire dagger shattered into fragnts.
"What?!"
Everyone was stunned by this scene.
Seated in the crowd, a plain-looking man smiled faintly and said to the person beside him, "After the treasure competition ends, bring that young man to my residence. I wish to et him."
"Yes, sir!" the person next to him nodded.
"Bastard! You dare destroy my Treasure? I'll kill you!" Yuan Cheng raged.
"How laughable," Yang Qi said with a hint of disdain. "You were the one who agreed to it just now. Are you going back on your word? You want to kill ? You'd need the ability for that!"
"Good! Very good!" Yuan Cheng roared. "Then I'll end you right now!"
Enraged, he leaped into the air, slamming a palm down toward Yang Qi.
"Hmph!"
From the other side, Zhao Xiong also shot into the air, intercepting Yuan Cheng's attack with a palm strike of his own. The two of them were thrown back to their original positions.
"Yuan Cheng, the War God King is present!" Zhao Xiong said coldly. "Do you dare to cause trouble here? Are you looking to die?"
