Chapter 17: My Little Brother Saw It Too
Sothing about her felt oddly familiar.
Asagi sat in the shade, massaging her sore legs, while Luo Yun took on the gentlemanly duty of buying ice cream.
“Two… uh, strawberry ice creams.”
Luo Yun glanced at the colorful nu, choosing in less than a second.
“Please wait a mont, sir.”
The clerk was a girl in her early twenties, vibrant and youthful, likely a university student working part-ti.
While waiting, Luo Yun kept sneaking glances at the bunny girl nearby.
A provocative beauty with a curvaceous figure—she’d easily be the standout star of the sumr amusent park. Yet now, she was like a ghost, completely invisible to others.
Others had co to buy ice cream, but without exception, they all ignored her.
“Your ice creams are ready. Here you go.”
The clerk handed Luo Yun two cones.
At that mont, he finally recalled the bunny girl’s identity.
Long black hair, a gentle face… and this brazenly sexy outfit in broad daylight.
—Sakurajima Mai.
The heroine of Bunny Girl Senpai, afflicted by a bizarre phenonon that caused more and more people to forget her, treating her as if she were air. This condition forced her to pause her beloved acting career, constantly testing and searching for ways to break through this strange phenonon.
He hadn’t expected to run into her here.
anwhile, Sakurajima Mai sadly confird that the people here couldn’t see her either. Dressed so provocatively and being such a striking girl, there was no way middle-aged, sleazy n wouldn’t at least glance her way.
Just five minutes ago, a man had co to the ice cream shop. Even when she deliberately blocked his view with her hand, he wasn’t fazed.
She truly was a non-existent person.
The thought made Sakurajima Mai sigh uncontrollably. At first, only a few crew mbers on set occasionally overlooked her, but the phenonon had grown worse over ti.
Even choosing a crowded amusent park didn’t help.
Having debuted as a child star, she loved the feeling of performing on stage and didn’t want to be forgotten by everyone—by the world.
She left the entertainnt industry, but even as a “ghost student,” she diligently attended classes. When taking the subway or bus, she insisted on paying her fare despite being able to board without a ticket. As the phenonon worsened, she finally resolved to wear a bunny girl outfit and visit a busy amusent park.
It wasn’t just to test how many could see her but also in hopes of finding soone who could—at least so she wouldn’t feel so alone.
No one wants to be completely isolated from the world.
Long ago, scientists conducted experints locking people in dark, silent environnts. After eight hours, dozens of subjects showed psychological symptoms. By the fourth day, so hallucinated or couldn’t walk straight.
Though Sakurajima Mai could still run, sing, and dance, no one could guarantee she’d stay that way forever.
Unable to communicate, her ssages ignored, she could only watch.
Most people would have been driven mad by such a phenonon, but thankfully, Mai’s ntal resilience was strong. Otherwise, for a girl her age, she’d have long since broken down.
But today’s experint had failed again.
As she prepared to leave, an ice cream cone was suddenly held out before her.
“You’re dressed pretty lightly, but it’s still hot, right?”
Startled by the unexpected gesture, Sakurajima Mai turned to look.
“You’re… the guy who just bought ice cream?”
Only now did she notice Luo Yun hadn’t left.
“Am I really that easy to ignore?” Luo Yun chuckled lightly. “Take it. It’s hot out, and the ice cream will lt fast.”
Half-chanically, Mai took the cone. The chill in her palm jolted her back. “You… you can actually see ?”
“My eyesight’s 20/20. I’m no blind man.”
Luo Yun frowned.
“Besides, a bunny girl standing here? Both and my little brother* saw you.”
“Your little brother saw too?”
Mai said, surprised.
“Where is he?”
Luo Yun sighed under her puzzled gaze, looking at her helplessly. “So things are better left unquestioned.”
Mai suddenly got it, her face flushing bright red.
As if suppressing her embarrassnt, she lifted her head and glared at him, the gesture adorably defiant.
But she quickly pushed the fluster aside.
Too embarrassed to speak, she just glared, silent.
Like an angry kitten.
“You should head ho soon. It’s dangerous for a girl to be out dressed like that.”
With that, Luo Yun shrugged, holding the other two ice creams and heading back. Asagi was waiting, and he couldn’t keep her too long.
Mai watched him for a mont before vanishing from the amusent park.
But Luo Yun’s presence left a deep impression on her heart.
This was the first ti soone had seen her.
