Three days later, Tony finally opened his eyes.
It had taken him two full weeks to heal all of his injuries,
to relearn how to heal himself with aether, and to assimilate his new power.
But for soone who had been on the brink of death, he had done rather well.
He realized he was in the room he had chosen on the ship.
Getting up, he looked over his body.
Interesting… really interesting. I no longer feel like I’m using a power that cos from elsewhere.
Seeing that a blue cultivator’s robe had been placed beside him, he put it on and left his room.
Knock.
— Sorry, but right now I’m at the end of my nerves. So go bother soone else.
Hikiri declared.
But despite the warning, the door opened.
Hikiri stood up, ready to explode, when he realized it was Tony.
— You… so you finally decided to wake up from your sleep. Though honestly, it was more like a coma.
Hikiri said.
But the next second, he was on the floor.
Tony had simply swept his legs out from under him.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
— Alright, Hikiri, get ready to scream. This is clearly not going to be pleasant for you.
Tony exclaid.
In disbelief, Hikiri watched Tony roll up his sleeve and crouch down, removing the bandages that were supporting his wound.
Panicking, Hikiri started speaking rapidly:
— Wait—wait… what are you planning to do?
— Your skin was cut all the way down to the flesh. But fortunately for us humans, we can regenerate naturally, though it’s extrely slow.
So I’m going to grab the two separated parts with my bare hands, press them together, and burn them so they cauterize.
After that, you’ll finish the healing with water.
Tony said with a disturbing casualness, as if this were completely normal.
— After all… do I really have any other choice?
Go ahead. Start.
Hikiri said.
Tony did exactly what he had described. He grabbed the two separated parts and pressed them together.
Small flas appeared at the tips of his fingers and began cauterizing the outside of the skin.
Hikiri managed to hide his pain for a while, but at so point he began to scream.
— Halfway… I’m only halfway done.
Tony muttered, fully focused on what he was doing. Hikiri’s screams felt distant to him.
After a full twenty minutes, Tony finally stopped and let out a sigh.
— …I stitched it up a bit violently, I admit, but I couldn’t find any other solution.
She also cut into your flesh, so with your water—which seems gentler than my thods—you’ll heal the inside of your abdon.
On the floor, Hikiri’s vision was blurred. He was torn between the urge to vomit and the urge to leap up and beat Tony to death, especially as Tony was making faces at him despite the sweat visible on his forehead.
— First of all, I never told you I could heal myself with water.
Hikiri said, clearly irritated by Tony’s expressions.
— Hmm… that’s true, but I heard you talking about it with Aconé.
Tony replied with a shrug.
— Okay… but can you tell what’s going on with you? You look tired, and at the sa ti… excited.
Hikiri asked.
— Well, we’re really weak. Sure, we’re in the first realm of cultivation, but still.
I had started to believe we were incredibly strong with our brute force and our affinity cards.
But when I think back to the room where we fought Liara, I rember looking at the walls and seeing countless cuts—maybe made by one of you three—but not a single attack actually destroyed them.
And those were stone walls more than three hundred years old.
Yet those sa attacks can easily cut through a human body.
Do you see what I’m getting at, Hikiri?
Hikiri signaled that he didn’t.
— Our bodies are a limitation.
And after hearing Zina’s story, I fully intend to reach the Immortal Realm.
With brute force alone, I doubt I could grab a roof and tear it off as easily as that monkey did.
Besides, he isn’t human, so we don’t start from the sa point in terms of raw strength, and his gigantic size works in his favor.
Tony said.
— I understand that you’re aiming higher, but why tell all this?
Hikiri asked.
— I was just tired of asking myself questions and answering them alone.
Spending two weeks inside your own consciousness, managing your body, isn’t easy.
Tony declared as he left Hikiri’s room.
As Hikiri stood up, the pain from the burns on his lower abdon made his body tremble.
Tony really did a good job… I can no longer see the inside of my stomach, only my skin turned black.
But Hikiri could feel that inside, there were still a few wounds left that needed attention.
But before that… I’ve earned a long sleep.
Lying down on his bed, he fell asleep before he even realized it.
