Liara and Hikiri, overflowing with murderous intent, lunged forward.

Their two sabers collided. They chained simple strikes—non-destructive, yet precise and deadly.
Hikiri noticed, despite himself, Liara’s finesse and dexterity.
She was simply pleasantly strong with the sword.
So strikes, though predictable, were so heavy and fast that they put Hikiri in difficulty from the very start of the fight.
Ah… why do I keep insisting on starting my fights with a style that isn’t mine… Hikiri thought inwardly.
Suddenly, Liara felt a small breeze brush against her.
What had I already nad my style…
The Art of the Dance of the Invisible.
A thin wave of air wrapped around his blade. Performing several movents that resembled a dance, he struck diagonally at Liara. As she parried, she noticed that part of Hikiri’s saber had pierced her shoulder.
Without saying a word, she pushed him back with a kick to the abdon.
Having perfectly parried, Hikiri charged again.
Liara, not very surprised by his sudden increase in speed, had already understood that he possessed the Wind Affinity Card.
— Fine, try stopping this, she said.

The Ten Invisible Blades.
Suddenly, Liara’s speed doubled before Hikiri.
Her arm moved in a single motion.
And yet, Hikiri saw her blade cut through the air ten tis.
He managed to avoid five of them, but the others left scars across his body.
— Huh, have my blades beco visible… Hoho hoho. And that was without aether. Now imagine it with it, Liara said to Hikiri.
Raising and lowering his saber rapidly, Hikiri created a blade of air that shot toward Liara.

Avoiding Hikiri’s blade, Liara slid toward him and, at three ters away, she activated:
The Ten Invisible Blades.
But this ti, the speed of her arms was multiplied by aether.
Hikiri didn’t even see the ten strikes.
Parried.
Finally deciding to enter the battle, Kurdes blocked all ten of Liara’s strikes.
— Hooo… since when can you perceive them? Liara asked.
— Let’s say it’s luck, Kurdes replied.
Wielding a tachi, Kurdes pushed Liara back and struck vertically.
Liara, about to block, noticed that her arm had stopped for two seconds, giving Kurdes enough ti to carve a long wound across her abdon.
Calm, Liara quickly retreated. She touched her arm several tis and said:
— You… what did you do?
Kurdes didn’t even answer and lunged forward, continuing without any real offensive.
Liara quickly noticed it: Kurdes did nothing but bring his tachi down, and yet she was finding it harder and harder to parry.
He’s using sothing, that’s for sure, she thought.
During a diagonal strike coming down from above, Liara clearly saw that she could parry it.
And yet, at the mont their blades collided, Kurdes’ tachi shifted by a few centiters and now rested beneath Liara’s throat.
Blop.
If she hadn’t stopped it with her bare hands, her throat would have been cut.
Suddenly, Kurdes smiled and stepped aside to his right.
At that mont, Hikiri burst forth and shouted:
Blade Spiral.
The air itself began to spin, twisting into a spiral.
And the instant it touched Hikiri’s sword, the air turned into blades, shot forward, and struck Liara.
Bam.
Liara was thrown back, but not cut.
It wasn’t all the air in the room, but it was enough for Hikiri to start feeling fatigue.
That’s why my second obsession is combat. It’s for this thrill. I’ll show them why they say I’m close to rank nine, Liara thought inwardly, showing little sign of having taken much damage.
