On another floor of the abbey.
His body engulfed in flas, a reflection of his anger.
Aconé lunged swiftly toward Rezu.
Saber in hand, he brought it down in a diagonal slash.
“What a disgrace… let show you how to fight while looking elegant,”
said Rezu.
He drew a thin sword, gripping it with his left hand.
And a dagger with his right; with difficulty, he parried Aconé’s saber.
Looking at Aconé, he stared at him as if he were a monster. Rezu said, “How about you stop looking at like that and actually fight… my dear.”
The little nickna spoken by Rezu angered Aconé even more.
He pulled his saber back, then struck diagonally once again.
Rezu parried so easily that he left Aconé a small remark: “My… dear.”
The two exchanged countless blows.
Aconé began to understand Rezu’s fighting style.
Cowardly, yet unpredictable.
Rezu aid only for vital points—nothing else.
He used brute force to weigh down his sword against Aconé, then stealthily attacked organs like the heart, liver, and stomach with his dagger.
Aconé found himself forced to anticipate the unpredictable.
Bam.
Each clash of their blades echoed in their ears.
Damn… he’s really a bastard.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Just what you’d expect from soone like him,
thought Aconé.
He parried Rezu’s dagger just as it was about to sink into his side.
Suddenly, in the middle of the exchange, Rezu yawned and said,
“Is that all you have to show …?”
Lowering his voice and adopting a mocking tone, he continued,
“Ridiculous… if it was those children who gave you strength last ti… let tell you this: when you die, I’ll reduce them to that state… and I’ll have fun with your children right in front of your corpse.”
…
Suddenly, Rezu noticed that the flas surrounding Aconé’s skin had disappeared.
But he could still feel an intense source of heat.
Lowering his gaze, he saw Aconé’s left hand covered in flas, forming a gigantic fiery fist.
“You see, it wasn’t that hard, my—”
Rezu was cut off.
By Aconé’s massive blow, the giant flaming fist slamming straight into his abdon.
Thrown backward, he crashed to the ground.
Aconé noticed water bursting out of nowhere, cushioning Rezu’s fall.
“You see… my dear. We have affinity cards, so why not use them… hmm?”
Rezu murmured.
The water began to float around him, following him like a shadow.
Aconé tried to stay calm. But he too had decided to let go completely.
His saber beca covered with several heated blades.
Pointing at Rezu, Aconé said,
“But tell , Rezu. That massive burn on your abdon… doesn’t it hurt?”
Unable to believe his ears, Rezu burst into laughter.
“Don’t worry about .”
A small portion of water clung to his abdon.
“You know what’s great about water? It heals. It may be slow… but at least it works.”
Aconé watched as Rezu’s charred skin gradually returned to its pale color.
“You… as if I’d let you do that!”
roared Aconé.
Raising his sword, he murmured,
“BLADE RAIN.”
He unleashed a flurry of movents, striking toward Rezu.
Countless blades of fire shot toward him—so connected to the ground, others descending from above.
Raising a finger, Rezu used a technique called: Water Defiance.
The mont he lowered his finger, the water split, forming interconnected spikes that launched themselves at Aconé.
But that wasn’t all.
The fire blades veered off the mont they ca within two ters of Rezu.
“What—”
Aconé barely had ti to be surprised before long water spikes charged straight at him.
Dodging one of them, he turned to see the damage on the ground… and saw that the floor had been pierced clean through by the spikes.
But more importantly, they erged behind him, aid directly at his back.
About to dodge, he rembered there were dozens more coming from behind.
Fine. Either way, this is a fight to the death.
The one who dies loses—not the one who’s wounded.
He deliberately twisted his body, letting a water spike pierce his shoulder.
Crrrrr.
A narrow hole went straight through his shoulder. Feeling the blood flow, he imdiately burned the wound shut.
Turning toward Rezu, he saw the remaining spikes charging at him.
He heard Rezu laugh.
“Accept my gifts.”
Moving swiftly, Aconé repeatedly shouted,
“Blade Rain!”
All while dodging Rezu’s water spikes.
