Hikiri’s point of view.

During his absence, he hadn’t wasted his ti.

He had tried to find a way. To save the slaves. He was ready to kill every cultivator on the island. But not the slaves.

That’s when a solution ca to him.

It could work. But first, I’ll keep deepening my understanding of the wind affinity card.

……

Lying in the sky, he tried to imagine different ways to use the wind.

He could already solidify it. Create mini-tornadoes. Blasts.

But the change in my body should already be visible.

Standing up, Hikiri grabbed his saber and started slashing.

He struck. Shifted position every ti. He was always moving. Not just his arms and legs. His entire body was in motion.

It felt strange. Like the air pressure no longer touched him. His mobility. His agility. It was as if his bones were made of thread.

A satisfied smile burst across his lips. With his will, a thin wave of air wrapped around the blade. Every ti the blade passed, the air itself was cut.

Eyes completely closed, Hikiri let his wind guide him.

When he began spinning, from top to bottom, the blade drew wind that followed Hikiri’s steps. And left scars in the air behind it.

Opening his eyes, he stared at the sky. He felt no need to speak. He just savored the mont.

Then, suddenly, he punched the air. No recoil. No usual air pressure.

He felt it. With just his weight, he had created a shockwave that shot forward several ters.

Lying back down, he smiled. The sensation he had just felt was simply indescribable.

The air wave on my blade extends its reach. I can create shockwaves with my fist alone… However.

Looking at his right fist, he had felt it clearly. He wouldn’t be able to spam it.

I have decent stamina. But using affinity cards tires out faster.

So, how do I destroy my part of the island without being exhausted before the real fight even starts?

Suddenly, his training fight against Tony in the City of Seas ca rushing back.

“EARTH SHATTERER!” huh.

Tony had told to condense it more.

Opening his hand wide, he manipulated the wind and forced it to twist and spin faster and faster.

He had to use all his focus and willpower to keep control, shrinking its volu as much as possible. The twenty-ter tornado—still far from a real one at full power—took shape. It looked thin and harmless.

But Hikiri was very satisfied. What he didn’t know was that the longer he held the mini-tornado, the faster it grew in speed.

To the point where people on the island were hit by powerful gusts of wind that nearly knocked them off balance.

Slowly dissipating the tornado, he felt a slight physical fatigue. But ntally, the toll was heavy.

So, after releasing my attack, it’d be better if I’m near water. I’ll recover in just a few monts.

Happy with his progress, he turned his eyes toward the city. He had already located where the slaves were kept at night.

When they weren’t being abused, they were cramd into holes dug in the ground, open to the sky.

A fierce rage rose inside him at the sight of their treatnt.

Trying to keep control, he looked at the ships filling the harbor.

——————

A few days later. Nightti.

He had co down to the inn to learn the day of the attack.

But instead, he crouched and listened at the door.

He heard the day and the exact ti. It suited him. Just as he was about to leave, he heard Dina say she had abandoned Tony. Left him in the hands of a madwoman. Described by her own brother as insane.

His mind, which had been a gentle breeze, churned so violently that tornadoes and raging gusts replaced the calm.

He flew back into the sky, waiting with growing impatience for the end of those four days.

——————

Four days later. Three hours before dawn.

Erging from the water, face grim, saber at his hip, he walked toward the slaves.

He stopped for a mont to glare at the top of the island.

And in a fierce, strained voice, he declared:

“If Tony is dead, I swear every last one of you will suffer a fate worse than death. And you, Dina… I’ll leave you at death’s door.”
