"You guys really went out of your way to co pick up so late."

ng Lang stuffed a pile of luggage into the trunk and turned around with a smile to address the three of them.

"Hmph! If Haitang hadn’t said she wanted to co, I wouldn’t be so free," Yan Weiwei retorted with a twist of her face, acting haughty.

"Ahem! Xiao Yu said with you returning, there would definitely be a lot of luggage, and taking a cab wouldn’t be convenient," Lin Haitang avoided ng Lang’s gaze, gently patting Xiao Yu on the head.

As expected! You’re still the most reliable one in the team!

ng Lang gave Xiao Yu a thumbs up, and Xiao Yu grinned mischievously.

"Let’s get going. I’m starving," Yan Weiwei said, being the first to dive into the driver’s seat of her Porsche 911.

ng Lang was about to join Xiao Yu in the backseat, letting Lin Haitang take the passenger seat, when Yan Weiwei rolled her eyes at them from the front.

"Hey! You big lug, why are you sitting in the back? Co sit up front!"

ng Lang was speechless; you really are trying your best to keep Xiao Yu and apart at all tis.

With no choice but to sit in the passenger seat, he imdiately turned and asked with a smile, "Xiao Yu, how was your holiday?"

Yan Weiwei pursed her lips, shifted gears, pressed the accelerator, and the car slowly left the parking lot.

"Mm! It was fulfilling—I read books, rehearsed, and yesterday my sister even took to Young Talent’s Palace," Xiao Yu happily shared.

ng Lang couldn’t help but glance at Lin Haitang.

This guy did take so of my advice to heart.

"Just that I crossed the line a few tis, and sister kept nagging about whether ’the score was enough’ or sothing, which was quite upsetting."

"Uh..." ng Lang almost couldn’t hold back his laughter.

"Xiao Yu!" Lin Haitang’s face turned slightly embarrassed, and she glared at Lin Xiaoyu.

"Ahem! It’s normal. As a beginner, violations are a necessary phase in life," ng Lang said, trying to contain his amusent.

Seeing the three of them looking so "joyful together," Yan Weiwei couldn’t stand it and shot a glance at ng Lang.

"Well done, Xiao ngzi, buying a car so quietly, you’ve really invested a good amount of money!"

Invested money? Where did I invest money? You really have a way with implications...

"Mm! The workload has been a bit heavy lately and the public transport isn’t convenient from where I live now, so I figured it’d be more convenient to buy a car for commuting," ng Lang didn’t rise to her bait.

And truth be told, the managent of the high-end complex where they now lived was quite regulated, making coming and going not as easy as before.

Just getting out of the main gate took five minutes, and without a car, it would really be inconvenient.

"Psh! And after buying the car, found out you don’t have a driving license? Who are you kidding? Your intentions are clear as daylight!" Yan Weiwei scoffed.

ng Lang glanced in the rearview mirror.

All he saw was Lin Haitang engrossed in the scenery, pretending not to hear.

"Ahem! I did overlook that bit, a bit hasty on the purchase. But good thing, I’ve asked a friend for help today, so the driving license issue should be resolved soon."

"How soon is ’soon’? Don’t tell you plan to fail driving test Phase 2 seven or eight tis and then just conveniently gift the car to our Haitang?"

"Uh..."

ng Lang glanced at the driver’s seat, feeling that Yan Weiwei was sohow more aggressive than usual today.

I’ve been nesting at ho for the past few days, didn’t have a chance to offend her, right?

Could it be that ’Left Hand Drawing a Dragon’ actually led her to obsession?

"Yan Weiwei!" Lin Haitang finally could not sit still.

"Why so fierce? I can lend my car too, Haitang. How about I loan you this one? I hardly ever go out anyway."

"No thanks!"

"Why not? Why is it okay if his car is borrowed, but not mine!" Yan Weiwei protested indignantly.

"Nonsense! A scratch on that car would cost thousands, and with my skills, I’d probably be bankrupt in a month!

Besides, your car has manual transmission, I’d likely stall it frequently, and it’s such a gas guzzler. Electric cars are so much more economical."

Yan Weiwei was montarily speechless.

That argunt was indeed irrefutable.

She never expected that one day, her Porsche would be outdone by a Mini Idol.

Its price might not even match one of her car wheels, but that price... was exactly its biggest competitive edge...

Seeing ng Lang snickering on the side made Yan Weiwei even more irritated.

"You were struggling to pay rent a while back, and now you can afford a car. Seems like you’ve been earning quite a bit lately?"

Giving him a rent reduction, does that count as aiding the enemy?

"Hehe! Just the usual, made a few small goals," ng Lang said with a beaming smile.

"A few small goals? Why don’t you just buy a private jet?" Yan Weiwei rolled her eyes, clearly thinking ng Lang was talking nonsense.

"Um... owning a private jet is too risky, and I have a fear of flying."

"Fear of flying? You, a grown man, are afraid of flying?"

"I’m scared of a lot, frankly speaking, I’m even scared when I’m in a car you drive!" ng Lang couldn’t help but complain.

Last ti I rode with you, it cost my brother his life, and if it weren’t for checking the updates today and confirming the journey was safe, I might not have dared to get in the car.

"Is that so?" Yan Weiwei’s eyes lit up upon hearing ng Lang was actually afraid of riding in her car.

That return trip from Xijing Bay, stuck in rush hour, I didn’t get the chance to really show off my driving skills. Looks like you’ve walked straight into the line of fire this ti, huh?

This is the highway!

Shift gears, hit the gas!

"Vroom~ Vroom Vroom~ Roar!"

In the midst of roaring engines, everyone felt a surge of acceleration as, suddenly, vehicles around them were quickly overtaken.

Within the not-so-dense traffic, a red Porsche zood out like a cheetah among sheep, shooting off like an arrow from a bow.

After the train station, it was a bypass expressway with a speed limit of 120. Yan Weiwei quickly hit 130 and then kept darting between speeding and not speeding.

"Weiwei! Slow down!" Lin Haitang couldn’t help but feel nervous as she watched the vehicles being overtaken outside.

"Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing, haven’t exceeded the speed limit yet!" Yan Weiwei chuckled with a smirk.

She threw a provocative glance at ng Lang sitting beside her.

Uh-huh! Clutching the handle beside him tightly, that definitely looked like fear.

But... this guy’s face is all flushed. What’s that about?

Does fear really get to him like this?

In fact, ng Lang was indeed sowhat afraid, but it wasn’t just simple fear. It was fear mixed with a bizarre sense of excitent, along with a restless and complex surge of adrenaline.

The fear was genuine, after all, he had already had two mishaps with transportation.

Who knew if he had unintentionally said sothing he shouldn’t have and provoked Yan Weiwei to change the future?

Riding a bus ca with its risks, let alone this adrenaline-pumping speed fest?!

But the excitent was real!

The urge to push Yan Weiwei aside, take the wheel, and have a blast was growing stronger with the roar of the engine in his ears.

If he hadn’t been controlling himself by gripping the handle tightly, he was afraid he might have impulsively reached out to help her shift gears.

This kind of stress response...

ng Lang knew he must be possessed...

...

"Tch!" Amidst the slightly urgent sound of braking, Yan Weiwei pulled up the handbrake, bringing the car smoothly to a stop in the parking spot.

Everyone in the car breathed a sigh of relief.

They had finally arrived safely.

"Ah, today’s performance was diocre, mainly because I had to consider Xiao Yu being in the car, couldn’t fully enjoy myself."

Yan Weiwei’s words were indeed true.

Although there was so showing off of driving skills involved, she didn’t dare do anything like running a red light in the city, not even speeding across a crosswalk.

It was just that the acceleration of this sports car was a bit intoxicating.

"So, how was it, little ngzi? My driving’s not bad, right?" Yan Weiwei said with a mischievous smile.

A journey that usually takes around forty minutes, she had sohow made in just twenty.

If ng Lang were clear-headed at this mont, he would have known where those twenty minutes his brother had "saved" last ti had co from.

His gaze was slightly vacant at the mont.

His brain seed still imrsed in the echoes of deafening cheers and screams in his ears.

That might have been the pinnacle of glory he would never experience again in his life...

"Driving skills? Heh!" With a hint of disdain and a sowhat hoarse voice, ng Lang spoke.

"You have no idea what driving is!

Smooth movents, steady rhythm, clear route, that’s just the basics.

Finding the latest braking point, pushing the tire’s friction limit, discovering your own capability boundary ...

Driving is not a technique, it’s an art!"

"Bang!" The car door was shut, leaving everyone inside speechless...
