Ever since he had found that this woman was an imposter, Qin Chu had had little sleep.

The illness he once had in the States had returned.

Tortured by the devastation and grief he felt after losing Huo Mian, he almost fell apart, but he did his best to retain his composure.

After watching the videos, he suffered from insomnia.

When everything was quiet at midnight, he’d miss Huo Mian in a bad way.

He had over 5,000 photos in his cellphone of her and their children.

He looked at them tirelessly again and again.

At 1:30 AM, Qin Chu got up and drove out of South Hill Manor.

– The First Hospital –

Due to several deaths happening here lately, there were much fewer people in the hospital.

Qin Chu walked directly into Bella’s ward.

After his mother-in-law was released from the hospital, Qin Chu had sent so trustworthy bodyguards to protect her.

Zhixin loved his wife and ca to the hospital to take care of her after work every day.

Bella had been in a coma for a long ti now.

If Qin Chu hadn’t done the surgery for her, Bella would have beco ashes by now.

“Brother-in-law, what are you doing here?’

Seeing Qin Chu, Zhixin stood up.

“You’re still up?”

Qin Chu had thought Zhixin was sound asleep at this late hour.

“No. I can’t sleep... Each night, I sit here and hope my wife will wake up...”

Looking at Bella lying in bed, Zhixin was devastated.

Qin Chu patted him on the shoulder.

“Don’t worry. Bella will wake up. She loves you and the family so much...”

“Yeah. I know. I’m here waiting for her... She will wake up.”

“Brother-in-law, why are you here at this late hour? Did sothing happen?” Zhixin looked nervous.

“No. Don’t worry. I just can’t sleep and ca out for so fresh air.”

“How about my sister?” Zhixin asked.

“She’s... asleep,” Qin Chu lied. It was a white lie, though.

“Are Pudding and Little Bean in the States now?”

“Yeah.”

“I saw their posts on Monts. They said they’d bring gifts when they co back.”

Zhixin’s voice was full of love as he ntioned his nieces.

“Zhixin, I want to ask you sothing.”

“Go ahead, brother-in-law.”

Zhixin was still wearing the white shirt he wore at work.

Not a humorous guy, he was a bit stiff; he had matured a lot after he went to work in GK.

He was quite solemn when he talked with Qin Chu as if he was talking to his boss in the company.

“Don’t be so tense. This is not a company and I want to ask you sothing happening in our ho.” Qin Chu patted him on the shoulder to help him relax.

Zhixin smiled and sat across from Qin Chu on the sofa.

Quietly, Qin Chu activated the mobile anti-bugging device in the pocket of his coat.

“Brother-in-law, ask anything you want; I’ll tell you everything I know.”

“After Jing De, no, Uncle Jing ca back, did you notice anything that he was afraid of?”

“Things he was afraid of?” Zhixin was puzzled.

“Or things he disliked or detested. Think carefully.”

“Oh, now that you ntioned it, I rember Dad was a bit more timid after he ca back...”

Zhixin rembered sothing.

“What was he afraid of?” Qin Chu asked imdiately as if he heard sothing important.

“Dogs. Dad hated dogs, even small ones. Once when the neighbor’s Tibetan Mastiff ca out, he was terrified...”

“Please. Anyone who sees a Tibetan Mastiff will be terrified.” Qin Chu didn’t know if he should laugh or cry. He was amused by his young brother-in-law’s dumb words.
