“What? What do you an that she might not survive the operation?”
Zhixin was stupefied, not expecting Bella’s wound was so serious.
Qin Chu looked calm as if he had expected it.
“Doctor, what do you an that she might not survive the operation? What’s wrong with my daughter-in-law? Will she die?”
Agitated, Yang irong caught the doctor’s hand and demanded.
“Calm down... We’ll do our best. But the patient’s wound is critical, and we are not sure we can save her.”
Before the doctor could finish, Qin Chu walked over and said, “Let do it.”
“Huh?” The doctor looked puzzled.
“I’m the husband of Vice Director Huo of the South Side Recuperation Center. I perford operations here before and you can check the record... If you don’t believe , you can call Director Wu. I can perform the operation for the patient since she’s my family mber and we’ll take all the consequences.”
“This... um...”
The doctor didn’t know how to answer but the priority was saving the patient.
Fortunately, so of the dical staff recognized Qin Chu and got him prepared for the surgery.
Waiting outside the OR, Zhixin, Yang irong, and Jing De were at a loss for what to do.
Zhixin was inexperienced and didn’t know how to handle a crisis; the only thing he knew was that he’d be devastated if Bella died.
They were engulfed in grief and didn’t notice the discomfort in Jing De’s face.
He was surprised at the guilt he felt. After all, he had done what his boss told him to do.
Was it because he had so feelings for this family after staying with them for a long ti?
Did he truly take himself as the real Jing De? Was it why he felt so complicated?
He hadn’t felt so guilty when he killed people, including the children.
When they said that Bella might not wake up, he was supposed to be happy, but he wasn’t.
If Bella woke up, then he’d be finished, right? Bella would tell them the truth...
With complicated feelings inside, Jing De stood beside Yang irong and was at a loss for what to do next.
Now that the Young Madam was in C City, he must do everything she said, right?
At this thought, Jing De glanced at Zhixin. “Zhixin, shouldn’t you tell your sister about it?”
“No. My sister is low in spirits... I don’t want her to worry. Let’s wait until my brother-in-law finishes the operation...”
Zhixin didn’t want to disturb her sister with this news.
Yang irong nodded. “Zhixin is right. Mian has a lot on her plate already. We’d better not tell her this, or she’d co over in the middle of the night for nothing. Besides, she’s weak; if she overworks herself, her health might deteriorate.”
Qin Chu hadn’t perford operations for a long ti, but he wasn’t rusty with his skills.
Carefully, he cleared the blood congestion in the back of Bella’s head.
The operation lasted more than two hours.
Finally, Qin Chu walked out of the OR, looking fatigued.
“Brother-in-law, how did it go?”
“The blood congestion is cleaned. The operation is a success. But I can’t say when she’ll wake up.”
Hearing his words, Zhixin’s eyes dimd again.
This wasn’t good news. It was hard to say when Bella would wake up? What did that an? Would she be in vegetative state?”
“Chu, what will beco of Bella?” Yang irong’s eyes were red with tears.
“It’s quite possible that...” Qin Chu paused and looked at Jing De who stood behind Yang irong.
Jing De didn’t dare to et Qin Chu’s eyes and lowered his head in guilt.
