“Jack will be more useful than Huo Siqian if I want to deal with Ian,” Qin Chu said slowly.
“You want to deal with Ian?” Huo Mian was surprised at her husband’s crazy idea.
“Yes.”
“My goodness. Honey, we can’t afford to ss with him.”
Huo Mian couldn’t imagine how her husband would deal with a man whom even Yan couldn’t handle.
Ian wasn’t an ordinary criminal but a terrorist who was capable of committing any evil act without a bottom line.
He wouldn’t feel the least bit of guilt no matter how many people died. Huo Mian thought he was no longer a human being, but a special evil existence that was a result of genetic mutation.
“Don’t worry. Ian is only a human, not a god, so he’s not as scary as you think. As I said, no matter who he is, I’ll fight him with my life if he’s a threat to you.”
Hearing Mr. Qin’s words, Huo Mian felt warm inside.
“Honey, do you feel tired in loving ? It seems… ever since high school, you’ve been helping handle all kinds of things just because you love . I suddenly feel I’m a burden to you. If you married a girl from a rich family and had kids with her, you’d live an ordinary life and feel more comfortable.”
She suddenly felt guilty for her special identity which caused Ian to sche against her; now Qin Chu had to fight Ian for her.
“Silly girl, don’t say that… How can a girl from an ordinary rich family be as excellent as our Dr. Huo?” Qin Chu placed Huo Mian on his lap gently while he leaned on the headboard of the big bed.
Lying in his arms, Huo Mian felt safe and happy.
“We’ve known each other for so many years. Please don’t say this…” Qin Chu kissed her lips.
“But I feel guilty to be your burden. If you didn’t love , you’d feel much less pain. Huo Siqian did those things because of and you’re the innocent party…”
The more she said, the sadder she felt. Probably because of the extra estrogen in her body due to her pregnancy, she beca more sensitive.
“Without you, I’d feel no happiness. Silly girl, stop saying that… Marrying you is the best thing I’ve done in my life. With you, my life is complete; with you, I can have a future.”
Mr. Qin wasn’t a man of words and so seldom had love talks with her.
But whenever he did it, the simple but loving words ward her heart.
With tears in her eyes, Huo Mian held his neck and clung to his chest.
“Honey, you’re so good to . How can I repay you?”
“You can repay by being with in our next lifeti.”
“Okay.” Huo Mian nodded.
“And in the lifeti after the next,” said Qin Chu.
“Okay. We’ll always be together. When we pass the Bridge of Forgetfulness after death, I’ll knock Madam ng unconscious, so we can slip past her with our mories intact; that way. We’ll still be together in the next lifeti.” (Note: In Chinese mythology, the Bridge of Forgetfulness connects the world of the living and the world of the dead; Madam ng is the woman who makes the dead people drink the tea that makes them forget their past.)
“Good idea.” Qin Chu touched her head lovingly, giving her a thumbs-up for her smartness.
“If we stay together lifeti after lifeti, won’t you beco tired of ?” Huo Mian asked with a pout.
“I will. Definitely,” Qin Chu said to tease her.
“You…” Huo Mian was about to protest when he continued, “So, you must wear so sexy underwear for occasionally, and you’d better perform a pole dance for , too. I would also like you in a maid costu, bunny costu, etc. In this way, I won’t get tired of you.”
“Do you want a whip with spicy oil?” Huo Mian pinched his cheeks with both hands and asked with a smirk.
