Chapter 2520 The Last Ace (20)

By the ti Huo Mian arrived ho, everyone had already gone to bed.

She quietly opened the front door, and imdiately, Uncle Li greeted her, “Welco back, Madam.” “Thanks, Uncle Li. Please feel free to go rest.”

“Young Master made a late-night snack for you; it’s still in the kitchen. Should I heat it up for you?” “Qin Chu made a snack?” Huo Mian was surprised as Uncle Li nodded.

“Hm, what is it?” Huo Mian asked curiously.

“Noodles served with black bean sauce.”

“Is today a special occasion?” Huo Mian thought hard, but couldn’t recall anything special about the date.

“Young Madam, would you like to have a bite?”

“I can handle it, Uncle Li. It’s getting late, you should rest.” It was getting really late, so she didn’t have the heart to be botherso to Uncle Li.

She put down her bag and tiptoed into the kitchen. Sitting on the dining table was a bowl of noodles served with black bean sauce that looked both colorful and flavorful.

Qin Chu always prepared his dishes to near perfection. Back when they had just gotten married secretly, at the Imperial Park condominium, Qin Chu used to cook all the ti.

Of course, she would sotis make sothing as well, but it was never as delicious as the als that Qin Chu cooked.

Co to think of it, now that the two of them were often busy, those simple and cozy days were far behind them, passing the point of no return.

Huo Mian sighed with emotion within her heart, picked up the chopsticks, and dug in.

Despite having eaten ran with Liu Ze, she only took a couple of bites as a gesture to get rid of him.

The handmade love noodles from Qin Chu were what filled her stomach and heart.

The noodles were no longer warm, but regardless, she chewed and tasted the noodles slowly until she finished the last strand.

Rubbing her full belly, Huo Mian walked up the stairs contently. She quietly opened the door to the twins’ room as she was walking by and smiled lovingly as she watched the two little girls who were deep asleep. She then returned to the master bedroom. By the ti she finished showering and changed into her PJs, it was already half past midnight.

The whole city sunk into a world of darkness.

Tiptoeing, Huo Mian got on the bed and covered herself up with the blanket. She glanced over at Qin Chu, who looked deep asleep, not wanting to disturb him in his sleep.

However, as soon as she turned to her side, with her back facing him, a pair of strong hands naturally looped around her waist, ever so gently holding her closer to him.

Huo Mian’s felt her heart wanning. She thought Qin Chu would have said sothing, but in the end, he simply remained silent.

She didn’t turn around to check if he was half awake either, and she simply whispered, “Good night, Honey.”

Lu Yan and Qiao Fei walked up and down the street market fearlessly in their local clothes.

“How long are we planning to stay here for?” Qiao Fei asked in a serious tone.

“Why? Are you sick of here?”

There are explosions and wars every day here, is it really a good place for us to stay?” Qiao Fei asked.

“Dummy, the most dangerous place is the safest place. Ian’s HQ is right here. We should stay here too, because he probably will never guess that we are chilling where his nest is.”

“But he’s not an idiot, so once our whereabouts are revealed, it will be very dangerous.”

“Dangerous? You think I’ll be scared?” Lu Yan wandered around the black market. Casually, she picked up a Type 54 pistol and disassembled it in a split second.

“It’s not a question of whether or not you’re scared, it’s rather pointless to continue to waste ti like this.”

“Who told you I’m just wasting ti? I have a plan,” Lu Yan complained in a low voice.

“What plan?”

“I got intel that Ian has an extrely advanced military ammunition shipnt coming tonight.” Lu Yan smirked.

“What are you planning?” Qiao Fei asked with a faint feeling that she’s probably up to no good again.
