Huo Mian hadn’t heard from Rick for a few days so she thought he had left China already.
“Oh, Rick, you’re here. Honey, why didn’t you tell earlier? I didn’t prepare anything!” Huo Mian said in a surprised tone.
“He can eat whatever we have at ho. Rick’s in a rush. He’s leaving in his helicopter in two hours…”
“Two hours… Why the rush?” Huo Mian said in astonishnt.
Rick nodded. Then, he took off his black coat and sat silently at the dinner table.
When he saw the four dishes on the table, Rick smiled and said, “Huo Mian, did you make all these?”
“Yeah. You don’t believe ?” Huo Mian joked.
“No, I believe you. Qin Chu said your cooking skills were impressive. I can tell my stomach will be very satisfied tonight…” Rick was very casual in front of them.
Huo Mian, however, felt a bit awkward seeing Rick.
“It’s such a sha Pudding and Little Bean aren’t ho…”
“Yeah, you can save on their Chinese New Year presents…” Qin Chu joked.
“You’re putting it like I’m lacking money…”
“Hm…” Huo Mian was surprised to see Rick joke around.
“You two can dig in first. I’m going to get the soup…”
“It’s alright. Huo Mian, sit down and relax…”
“It’s alright. It’s not that much work. I’ll be right back.”
Then, Huo Mian quickly rushed into the kitchen.
She was using the soup as an excuse to call Xixi.
When Huo Mian picked up her phone to dial Xixi’s number, soone stopped her from behind.
She turned back in shock.
“You scared to death!” Huo Mian was a bit relieved to see Qin Chu as she was scared Rick would find out about her plan.
“Are you planning to call Xixi?” Qin Chu asked Huo Mian with a complicated look on his face.
“Yeah. Didn’t you promise that day to help them see each other for one last ti?” Huo Mian nodded.
“When Rick and I were coming ho, he begged multiple tis not to create an opportunity for them to see each other… I don’t want to lose this friend…”
“Why did he say that?” Huo Mian was confused.
“I’m not sure. I just think Rick is pretty against it. Since he doesn’t want to see Xixi, I don’t think we should try to force it… Even though I promised you to help, Rick would still be unhappy if he found out what we were up too… We shouldn’t alter fate…” Qin Chu tried to persuade Huo Mian.
“But what about Xixi?” Huo Mian pitied Xixi.

Maybe Xixi would be hurt even more… Why don’t we just go with the flow?” Qin Chu knew Huo Mian was a thoughtful person so she would know when to stop.
He didn’t need to say any deep principles because Huo Mian understood what he ant.
She hesitated for a bit, but in the end, she nodded and put down her phone.
“Honey, I understand. Let make a soup so we can have dinner.”
“Okay.” Qin Chu nodded.
Huo Mian quickly made a seaweed and egg soup.
Since it was Chinese New Year and all the servants went ho, Huo Mian had to do everything by herself.
It had been a long ti since the three could sit together and eat peacefully.
They were chatting during dinner. Suddenly, Huo Mian asked, “Rick, how often do you eat Chinese food in the States?”
