“No, we shouldn’t… Tell the executives that I’m holding a eting in five minutes.”
“Will do.”
Five minutes later, Su Yu walked into Imperial Star’s conference room wearing a white suit; the executives were surprised to see him since Su Yu hadn’t attended a company eting in a while.
After reporting on company matters, Su Yu looked around the room right before he left and suddenly asked, “Where can I get so good hot and sour noodles?”
His question left all the executives flabbergasted…
“Ahem, President Su is waiting for an answer,” An reminded the group.
“Um… President Su, I know a place on Weixi Road, right behind Jiahe Business Building. The restaurant’s called Ah-San’s Hot and Sour Noodles, and there’s always a lot of people lining up there. The restaurant’s been there for a while, it’s really good, and they serve pancakes as well. I’ve been eating there since undergraduate school,” one of the administrative managers said.
Su Yu nodded. “Mhm, thanks. That’s it for today then, have a good day everyone.”
After Su Yu left, the executives began discussing amongst themselves…
“President Su’s been acting weird lately…”
“Yeah, why would soone as rich as him eat street food?”
“Is he dating soone? Maybe it’s for his girlfriend… Girls tend to like hot and sour noodles…”
After work, Su Yu was driving towards Weixi Road when Tang Chuan called.
“Yu, let’s hang out tonight! A friend of mine opened a new nightclub, apparently it’s really good and they hired pretty girls from six different countries. Can I interest you in a drink?”
“You can’t,” Su Yu almost imdiately refused.
“Why not?” Tang Chuan asked in confusion.
“I’m busy.”
“F*ck, that was such a quick ‘no’, can I slap you in the face? It’s fine that Wei Liao refused, he’s married, and his wife is pregnant. What are you being so pretentious for?” Tang Chuan blabbered unhappily; then, before Su Yu could reply, he laughed evilly, answering his own question, “Oh, I know why. Huo Mian’s at ho, that’s why you’re going ho right on the dot, right?”
“What does anything have to do with Huo Mian? What’s wrong with going ho? I miss my grandpa and mom, alright?”
“Bullshit, I know you too well. You used to go months without visiting ho, but now you’re running back every single day, regardless of wind and rain. I guess your heart’s planted there, eh?”
“Screw you, don’t ss around with . I’m driving.”
“Fine, then, go on and do your thing…” Tang Chuan stopped teasing Su Yu and hung up the phone.
After arriving at Ah-San Hot and Sour Noodles, Su Yu ordered a bowl of noodles and a pan-fried green onion pancake. Then, he sped ho, worried that the noodles might go cold.
When he arrived, Huo Mian was organizing presents for her unborn children – a lot of people have been bringing by gifts, congratulating her for her pregnancy. Even Mrs. Su bought her a bunch of things, so she had no choice but to organize and put them away.
Su Yu knocked and went in with a smile on his face. “Dr. Huo, I bought you dinner.”
“You’re ho?” Huo Mian smiled back at him.
“How do you feel about hot and sour soup?”
“That’s exactly what I wanted! How did you know?” Huo Mian exclaid, feeling pleasantly surprised.
“Forget about that, co and have so while it’s hot.” Su Yu walked up to her and placed the takeout bags on the coffee table.
Huo Mian sat down and opened the bags, imdiately slling the hot and spicy aroma; then, she dug in happily.
“Um, Huo Mian, I have a really important question to ask you,” Su Yu asked, a little embarrassed.
“What is it?” Huo Mian looked up and asked.
