If I had to ntion one thing I hated about the system, then it was this. Not giving a full explanation. I didn’t care if it sprung missions on left and right without considering my situation, because in the end, it always worked out for the better. With that, I left and returned to my room after informing Lucas, who left everything he was doing and practically ran outside. I opened the letter. It was a simple letter informing the lord of this town about the arrival of a few officials and that we were to keep the crops preserved for them.
Since Zara’s father was pretty influential in the royal court, no new lord had been appointed, and Zara was automatically given the authority to run the town until it wasn’t made sure that the lord wasn’t coming back.
Also, it stated, very clearly, that we were to form and send a party after Lord Ruuthaven to summon him back to the town so he could also receive the envoy as the lord of this land.

Early morning arrived, and my mood was dimming with each passing day. Sure, the excitent of awakening my son was imnse and played a bigger part in my patience, but after not having sex for a few days, my mood was turning downcast. Like the most fun play toy had been taken away from after letting have the full joys of it.
I arrived outside the lord’s mansion and joined the already ford small unit of soldiers. I wasn’t leading, though. It was Cassandra and her brother, the older one, but still younger than Cassandra. I didn’t know what his na was, though, and quite frankly, I wasn't interested at all.
“Our mission is quite simple. We are to follow the traces of Lord Ruuthaven’s party and catch up with him. We are to deliver the royal verdict and inform him of the envoy’s arrival within three days. If we, in that ti fra, are not able to find him, we are to return. Is it clear?” Cassandra delivered the instructions, and everyone nodded.
What I was surprised about, though, was…
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“Young Lady ordered to join her on this mission.” Lucas, my older brother, stoically replied. I looked at his face for a while before I took a deep breath and muttered, “Young love.”
“What?” He asked.
“I said young love,” I said out loud.
He couldn’t retort.
Anyway, the conversation ca to an end as we soon departed. On foot, it took us about three hours before we arrived at the demonic forest. Only Cassandra and her brother had horses.
Instead of coating ourselves with mana and aura to protect ourselves from the demonic energy, we were given artifacts to repel the energy. There were only ten of us, so the expenditure wasn’t that much.
“The forest sure is quiet.” One of the soldiers at the back said to another one next to him.
“You’re right. There was a ti when I couldn’t even think of coming here due to the strong beasts.” The other one replied.
Their misconception was quite amazing. There weren’t many strong monsters here, but then again, I could just be speaking from my standards. All in all, the journey was quite silent and boring.
Cassandra rode her horse at the forefront, her brother next to her but just one or two steps behind. Behind him was on foot, and behind was Lucas, who was holding his sword quite tightly. And then there were the six soldiers behind us.
We kept walking for the day until it was dark, and Cassandra said, “We’ll set camp here for tonight.”
The location she chose wasn’t optimal since there were a lot of bushes around, but she knew that as well. Since there were no monsters here anymore, the chance of an animalistic ambush was quite low.
I also agreed with her. Since there was no danger, going out of our way to find an optimal spot was unnecessary. Still, rounds were assigned, and I volunteered to be the first one. Since we would be resting for five hours, the setup was two people at once.
The camp was set up, and one of the soldiers, who was also a cook, cooked a simple al after which everyone went to sleep. Since I was the first one, my mate was none other than the guy who disliked the most among all.
And I couldn't help but wonder why he was also doing night duty given his status, but that was decided between him and Cassandra, so I didn't know the reason.
