Chapter 440: Chapter 441: Cold War (3)_1 Chapter 440: Chapter 441: Cold War (3)_1 The airplane was in first class, with the air conditioning turned on in the cabin, making the temperature a bit low.

As soon as Liang Chen and Jing Haohao took their seats, the flight attendant imdiately ca over with blankets and pillows, offering them warmly to both Liang Chen and Jing Haohao.

Liang Chen nodded slightly, tore open the bag, pulled out his own blanket, and handed it to Jing Haohao.

Jing Haohao lifted her eyelids, glanced at Liang Chen, casually picked up her own blanket, tore open the bag, shook out the blanket, covered it on her body, then turned her head away from Liang Chen and once again closed her eyes.

Liang Chen stared at the back of Jing Haohao’s head, his gaze becoming sowhat vacant.

The airplane took off, ascending to an altitude of thirty thousand feet during and just as the sun was setting. The blood-red rays of the setting sun stread through the small airplane window, spilling onto Jing Haohao’s face, illuminating her delicate pale skin in a rosy hue.

On the table in front of her, Liang Chen had ordered airplane food and drinks for her.

The aroma lingered, wafting gently about.

However, Jing Haohao maintained the sa posture she had adopted when she first boarded the plane, sitting impassively and showing no inclination to eat.

“Haohao, have sothing to eat. You haven’t eaten all day.”

Liang Chen leaned over and said in a low voice.

Jing Haohao’s eyelids flickered slightly, eyes fluttering open, as she stared at the clouds outside tinted red by the sunset. Her lips moved, and she lifted her hand to press the service bell.

A pretty flight attendant quickly walked over. “Miss, what can I assist you with?” she asked.

Jing Haohao answered in a muted voice, “A beef al, and a glass of orange juice.”

The flight attendant glanced at the untouched airplane food, identical to what Jing Haohao had ordered – beef and orange juice.

The flight attendant asked with a smile, “Miss, isn’t this your al?”

Jing Haohao replied softly, “I’d like to change it, is that not acceptable?”

The flight attendant instinctively glanced at Liang Chen, the one who ordered the food. Liang Chen’s face was sowhat uncomfortable. When he t the flight attendant’s eyes, he gave a slight nod.

“Very well, Miss, please wait for a mont.” The flight attendant replied with a shallow smile, bent down, and took away the food in front of Jing Haohao.

Within a minute, the flight attendant brought a new al. Jing Haohao said, “Thank you,” picked up her chopsticks, and started eating as if nothing had happened.

Liang Chen sat nearby, watching Jing Haohao, her head bowed as she ate her food in a leisurely manner, feeling a pricking sensation deep in his heart.

Indeed, as the song Chen Yixun once sang, it was right.

Pretending as if nothing had happened was the cruelest form of revenge.

Liang Chen previously believed that argunts, insults, physical altercations were the most direct ways to counterattack and seek retribution from soone. But now, he understood that Jing Haohao’s silent treatnt, acting as if he was invisible, was the most brutal and direct form of revenge.

There were no venomous words, no hysterical argunts, nor absolute defiance with knives clashing, just maintaining an indifferent attitude could easily break down all his defenses, leaving him in utter disarray.

The plane landed on ti at Jiangshan City Airport at seven thirty in the evening.

The driver, who had been waiting at the airport, picked up Liang Chen and Jing Haohao and took them straight back to the villa on Half Mountain.

Since leaving Jiangshan City nearly a month ago, the temperature in Jiangshan City had risen considerably. The trees on the mountain had awoken from the harsh winter and were thriving with dense foliage.
