Chapter 632: Chapter 633 Birds and Fish (5)_1
When Jing Haohao ca out again, she carried a blanket in her arms. Treading lightly, she approached the couch and draped the blanket over Liang Chen. Then, raising her hand, she delicately removed the suit jacket wrapped around Liang Chen, carefully unfolded the blanket, and tucked him in.
Jing Haohao stood up, prepared to return to her bedroom, when suddenly, Liang Chen opened his eyes.
Not knowing whether she had acknowledged her feelings for him or not, Jing Haohao felt a pang of guilt surge from the depths of her heart upon seeing the profound depths of Liang Chen’s dark eyes. She strained to maintain her usual attitude in front of him, treating him the way she always had, like a friend, and said, “I saw you fall asleep and worried that you might be cold, so I brought out a blanket.”
Liang Chen shifted slightly, slowly sitting up. He glanced at the ti and asked with a creased brow, “It’s quite late. Why haven’t you sleep yet?”
“I slept so long earlier that I couldn’t fall asleep now.” In reality, it was the thought of him outside that kept her awake.
Liang Chen nudged the blanket aside, stood up, touched Jing Haohao’s forehead, and finding her temperature normal, relaxed.
His natural gesture took Jing Haohao’s breath away. Her heart pounded against her ribs, thumping faster and faster. Almost instinctively, she lowered her gaze, sowhat reluctant to et Liang Chen’s eyes, for fear he might notice the intense affection flashing in hers.
“Did you take your dicine tonight?”
“Yes.” Jing Haohao made a great effort to regulate her accelerated heart, briefly t Liang Chen’s eyes, and then quickly shifted her gaze to the television set in front of her.
The silent TV screen displayed a film channel, currently broadcasting a period drama starring Qian Hua.
Instantly, Jing Haohao was reminded of the rumors linking Liang Chen to Qian Hua. Her expression faltered for a mont before she turned to Liang Chen and said, “This movie is a classic- it’s what made Qian Hua famous.”
The mont the words left her mouth, Jing Haohao wished she could bite her tongue off.
Many of the stars in the film were making their acting debut, and it wasn’t just Qian Hua who benefitted, but she was the only one she’d ntioned. Wasn’t it clear that she was intentional?
Jing Haohao couldn’t help but speak out again, explaining, “I really like this film. I’ve watched it many tis. Even though it made many big nas in the industry, I tend to ntion this drama due to Qian Hua’s role, which I particularly like. There’s no other reason.”
After speaking that whole speech, it suddenly hit Jing Haohao, what it ant to add fuel to the fire- to explain is to cover.
If her earlier words were just her own guilty intention, then her long explanation now was seemingly telling Liang Chen that there was another motive when she’d ntioned Qian Hua.
Jing Haohao’s cheeks flushed red. Feeling a little flustered, she stood awkwardly on the spot, then sneaked a glance at Liang Chen and braced herself to continue, “Please don’t misunderstand. I only ntioned her because I was reminded of the news about you two a few days ago. I feared you’d think I was intentionally gossiping about your personal life.”
After speaking, Jing Haohao let out a silly laugh and added, “But, you and Qian Hua look very good together. You two would make a perfect couple.”
With a steady gaze, Liang Chen studied Jing Haohao’s face, “Is that so?”
