Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Indirect Criticism (2)_1

“So, does that woman get off scot-free?” Qiao Wennuan tilted her head curiously, asking.

This ti, Liang Chen flat-out ignored Qiao Wennuan’s words and simply clinked glasses with Shen Liangnian to drink on his own, saying indifferently: “So, this choosing a woman thing, you have to be cautious. A wrong choice can cause endless troubles… don’t you agree, Mr. Shen?”

Jing Haohao’s hand holding chopsticks shivered abruptly and eventually dropped to the floor.

Shen Liangnian, having had much to drink from Liang Chen, was drunk by this point. He had no idea that Jing Haohao next to him had dropped her chopsticks. He just continued drinking with Liang Chen, saying, “Yes, my Haohao is the best. She never stirs up any trouble.”

Upon hearing this, Liang Chen curled his lips to give a lukewarm smile before turning to look at Jing Haohao. His eyes revealed an array of emotions, which all eventually turned cold. He then addressed a waiter standing beside them, saying, “Bring Miss Jing a new pair of chopsticks.”

When Qiao Wennuan heard Shen Liangnian say “my Haohao”, jealousy rolled in her heart. Unable to restrain herself, she blurted out, “Clearly, all this ss was caused by the woman who was playing two n. Why did the coal boss end up suffering so much in the end? Did the high-ranking official end up with the woman? But, I reckon he must have found her despicable and would never want her. So won are like flower vases. They’re just decorations. It’s just that so vases can’t pluck up the courage to accept their destiny as a vase. Eventually, these vases hurt themselves and others, turning from vases into curses!”

Whether Qiao Wennuan’s words were intentional or not, she just picked up where Liang Chen left off, speaking one sentence after another. Jing Haohao ultimately couldn’t stand it any longer and stood up, saying, “Excuse , I need to go to the restroom.”

After saying this, she hurriedly tried to leave the room.

However, Liang Chen glanced at the drunk and befuddled Shen Liangnian and said, “Miss Jing, Liangnian has had too much to drink. I think you should help him up to his room to rest.”

Then, after a mont’s pause, Liang Chen took out a room card from his pocket and passed it to Jing Haohao, saying, “This is my room card.”

When Jing Haohao looked at the room card, she clearly saw the number ‘1314’. This was the sa room number she had mistakenly walked into when she first encountered Liang Chen.

Her fingertips suddenly felt ice-cold. After a mont, she reached out to take the card, uttering a low ‘thank you.'”

Liang Chen didn’t respond.

Jing Haohao then reached out to help Shen Liangnian up.

Being completely drunk, Shen Liangnian stood up shakily, looking at Jing Haohao with a laugh. He tried to lean in for a kiss, but only managed to kiss the air, making a grunting sound. He then leaned on Jing Haohao’s shoulder, immobile.

Jing Haohao, with considerable effort, assisted Shen Liangnian towards the door. Before they could exit, she heard Qiao Wennuan’s voice from behind once more, “So like I said, appearances can be deceiving. The won who appear the most virtuous often have the filthiest hearts, while the deepest of oceans can never be asured!”

Jing Haohao thought, since Qiao Wennuan was unaware of her entanglent with Liang Chen and Shen Liangnian, she must’ve been expressing her indignation because of the story Liang Chen had told.

However, she couldn’t shake the feeling that those words were ant as an insult to her.

Supporting Shen Liangnian, Jing Haohao hesitated at the door before finally stepping outside.
