The doorbell rang again.
Liang Chen had to swallow his words, roll off the bed, pick up his clothes, put them on quickly, then throw Jing Haohao’s clothes on the bed, saying, “I’m going to answer the door.”

Shen Liangnian had been calling Jing Haohao several tis, but no one answered. He was worried about whether Jing Haohao had resolved the issue at Haixin Company, so he finally ca to Jing Haohao’s house that night, wanting to ask her face to face.
When he drove to Jing Haohao’s apartnt complex, it was only after nine o’clock in the evening; however, he didn’t have the courage to go up. So, he just sat in his car without thinking about anything for nearly two hours.
When he ran out of cigarettes in his car, he finally pushed the car door open and walked into the building.
Taking the elevator upstairs, he ca to Jing Haohao’s door and stood there for a while before pressing the bell.
While Shen Liangnian leaned against the wall waiting for soone to answer the door, he was suddenly reminded of a past event. Once, he had argued with Jing Haohao, turned around and left, then sat in his car downstairs for an entire two hours. In the end, he couldn’t bear it and returned upstairs. Right when he was about to knock on the door, Jing Haohao pulled it open from the inside. Her eyes were red, as if she had just cried. At that mont, he imdiately felt a heartache and impulsively pulled her into his arms.
Just as Shen Liangnian was reminiscing about the feeling of embracing Jing Haohao, the door opened. He instinctively lifted his head and saw Liang Chen’s face.
Shen Liangnian was instantly frozen.
Liang Chen was also taken aback for a mont, but quickly regained his composure. Looking at Shen Liangnian, he squinted slightly and a thought quickly crossed his mind: What is Shen Liangnian doing here at this hour, looking for Jing Haohao?
The two n stood there, one at the door and the other in the hallway, neither saying a word.
Jing Haohao finished dressing and walked out of the bedroom. Seeing no movent outside, she asked, “Liang Chen, who is it?”
Liang Chen turned his head to glance at Jing Haohao. Unwilling to speak, he remained silent.
Jing Haohao walked over with a puzzled look, then saw Shen Liangnian standing outside the door. Her eyes paused for a mont before slowly dropping, her tone slightly cool, “Why are you here?”
Shen Liangnian looked at the two people standing in the room, for a while, and couldn’t find the words to speak. His gaze passed over Jing Haohao, looking towards her room.
Jing Haohao’s dining table, which was directly opposite the door, was within view. Her living room wasn’t big, so Shen Liangnian saw imdiately the bowl of egg noodles laid on the table.
