She couldn’t help but shift her position slightly before turning her head to gaze out of the window. In an attempt to divert Liang Chen’s gaze from her face, she raised her hand and pointed at a location, saying, “Isn’t that your company?”
Liang Chen followed Jing Haohao’s point and looked over. The neon sign with the words “Jiangshan Group” was particularly eye-catching in the night.
Jing Haohao felt like she’s seen these four characters sowhere. She tilted her head, contemplated for a mont, then turned to ask, “The ‘Jiangshan Group’ sign… could it be written in your handwriting?”
“Yes,” Liang Chen responded, “I wrote it on paper, and they traced it. So, it can be considered my handwriting.”
Jing Haohao turned her head and stared at the four characters of “Jiangshan Group”. She hooked her lips and said, “It’s quite handso.”
Liang Chen, amused by Jing Haohao’s comnt, chuckled lightly.
Suddenly, Jing Haohao turned to ask, “I heard that you were based in Beijing before. Why did you suddenly decide to co back to Jiangshan City?”
“My father has deep roots in Beijing. At that ti, he wanted
to study abroad. I didn’t want to go but wanted to start a business. However, he wanted to arrange everything for
in Beijing. I didn’t like that feeling, so I ran away to Jiangshan. This is my hotown, and it’s also relatively close to Beijing.”
“But Beijing is the capital. Your prospects might be better if you were there. Don’t you regret it?”
“I don’t regret it.” Liang Chen paused, his gaze locked on Jing Haohao’s eyes, and said, “On the contrary, I’m glad I ca back to Jiangshan City.”
“Why?”
Liang Chen’s gaze faltered. His handso face turned vague in that mont, and after a long while, he finally said, “Because here, I t the person I wanted to et the most.”
In fact, he wanted to say that it was because he t her here.
But, he felt presumptuous saying that. After all, he and she no longer had any relationship.

Liang Chen stared into Jing Haohao’s eyes and nodded.
All this ti being with Liang Chen, she had never seen him show any interest in any woman, and all the gossip news reported him as soone who led a clean life.

If it were in the past, Jing Haohao would not care who Liang Chen liked. But now, she longed to know.
So, she bit the corner of her lips, her voice held a bitterness she didn’t even notice, “Who’s that person? Doesn’t she live in Jiangshan City?”

Though it was such a simple line, Liang Chen didn’t have the courage to say it. He was afraid that by his sudden confession, the distance between them that had just narrowed would vanish.
Before, Liang Chen always thought that he was invincible. But when he fell in love with soone, he discovered that he was a coward in front of the person he loved.
