Liang Chen entered the mansion, the servants were all busy. The main hall on the first floor was empty. Liang Chen glanced around suspiciously then went straight up to the second floor.
The bedroom door wasn’t locked, a push was enough to open it. The window was open, and a gentle breeze made the curtains flutter slightly.
Jing Haohao was not in the bedroom.
Liang Chen looked around, assured that there was nobody there. He removed his suit jacket, loosened his collar, and walked out of the bedroom. He positioned himself by the railing, looked downstairs, and shouted loudly, “Nanny Lin, Nanny Lin?”
Nanny Lin, wearing an apron, rushed hurriedly from the kitchen. Seeing Liang Chen, before he could speak, she asked curiously, “Mr. Chen, why did you co back so early? Have you had dinner with Miss Jing and Mr. Yuan?”
Miss Jing, Mr. Yuan, dinner?
What’s going on?
Liang Chen frowned and asked, “When did I go out for dinner with Miss Jing and Mr. Yuan?”
“Wait, Mr. Yuan?”
“My elder brother visited this afternoon?”
“Yes, didn’t you know, Mr. Chen? Mr. Yuan left with Miss Jing, saying they were going to et you for dinner.”
Liang Chen took out his phone and glanced at it. There were no missed calls. A sudden unease pricked at his heart, and he asked, “What did Mr. Yuan say to Miss Jing this afternoon?”
“Nothing much, Mr. Yuan just had Miss Jing sign a contract to terminate her agreent with TS Entertainnt Company. He also took Miss Jing to the backyard to look at the wedding venue. He seed to be treating Miss Jing very well.”
The more Nanny Lin spoke, the more uneasy Liang Chen felt.
Was his brother just being friendly for no reason? There must be sothing wrong!
“And then?”
Nanny Lin thought for a mont, then said as if realizing sothing, “I almost forgot, Doctor Zhang visited this afternoon.”
Upon hearing the na “Doctor Zhang”, Liang Chen straightened up instantly.
“Doctor Zhang said Miss Jing is in good health, and the fetus is normal.”
Liang Chen imdiately turned around and entered the bedroom.
Nonsense! Jing Haohao was not pregnant at all, so where did the fetus co from? He knew it, sothing was fishy!
His elder brother had deceived everyone and caused chaos in his house.
Liang Chen picked up his car keys, quickly exited the bedroom, and as he reached the elevator, as if rembering sothing, he went to his study.
Once inside, he saw that his safe was open.
He quickly went to check and turned everything inside the safe upside down, only to discover that the few discs he had were all missing.
He looked at his safe again, and noticed obvious signs that it had been pried open.
Suddenly, anger flared up in Liang Chen’s chest. He turned around without another word, went straight downstairs, reached his car, started it, and imdiately drove out of the mansion.
Liang Chen stepped hard on the accelerator, took out his phone, and dialed Jing Haohao’s number. It kept ringing until Nanny Lin answered.
Liang Chen, seething with anger, hung up the phone and started dialing Liang Yuan’s number, but no one answered this ti.
Liang Chen dialed his sister-in-law’s number, his voice tense as he asked directly: “Where’s Liang Yuan?”
“He’s ho…” His sister-in-law sounded a bit puzzled and asked: “What’s wrong? Chen, you’re not sounding too good. Did your elder brother upset you?”
Retaining his silence, Liang Chen abruptly hung up the phone. He threw his phone harshly onto the passenger seat, and sped towards the old house.
